Re: Monolith Soft Took Care To Avoid Impacting Its New Game While Working On Xenoblade Remaster

I kind of hope they’re working on BOTW 2 because I am really wanting to see with this new dark Zelda is going to be like. Still I really wanna see a new Xenoblade as long as the main character ain’t silent like in X or a gating issue like there was with the blades in 2.

@benchan come on its Xenoblade 3 so they’ll triple it and they’ll be so embarrassingly designed it’ll receive a M rating.

Re: Random: What's Up With That Metroid Reference In The Paper Mario Trailer?

@RPGamer I doubt they would do it but I wish they'd change the ending so its more in line with the original tone between the the Metroid Queen and the new last boss. In the original after you beat the queen the game conveys a sense of serenity, and triumph and encourages reflection but in the remake its replaced with building up the last boss. They could accomplish it easily by doing things like the game covertly creating a checkpoint after killing the Metroid Queen and having her provide enough items to recover all your health and such.

It would give the game parity with Zero Mission in how the Space Pirates rob Samus of her triumph against Mother Brain by shooting her down. It would also allow a feeling of triumph over the last boss that's independent of overcoming the Metroids. By robbing the player of their feeling of triumph it would also amplify the message that the Space Pirates are underhanded and opportunistic and help the player feel about the Space Pirates the way Samus does.

@Varkster I really think that Monolith Soft being a subsidiary of Nintendo will help prevent the problems we see occurring with Final Fantasy. Nintendo is generally very good about encouraging games to stay in development till they're ready.

@JR150 if they made Final Fantasy 7 we wouldn't have got two of my favorite albeit flawed games Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins.

@Alucard83 what Nintendo could do is buy the rights to the Baten Kaitos series. Monolith Soft made the games so it'd be cool to see them remake the first two games e.g. better dialogue and voice acting, getting the option to use Origin's deck system in the original and produce new games. Nintendo owns Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem and its as much a RPG as it is a horror adventure game. Nintendo make could make Eternal Darkness into a series that has even more RPG elements than the original.

@MrBlacky I'd say that after this coming generation of consoles they'll have to start pushing things liked advanced AI or go the Nintendo route and start making hybrid consoles provided battery tech advances enough.

@Friendly it actually has new content in it e.g. a new area, and a remastered soundtrack along with the original.

Re: Sword And Shield Are Now The Fourth Best-Selling Core Pokémon Games, Here's How They Rank

@playstation_king they're the first new entries of the main series to evolve from handhelds to consoles. I thought with the evolution and with the Switch being so popular that the series would've sold better than it has. I suspect some of it has to do with the overblown controversy about the pokedex and in my opinion more valid issue with animations. I don't think these issues had that much of an affect and something else has prevented them from excelling sales wise like I expected.
