@nhSnork @tsurii Good points, both of you. It honestly shouldn't surprise me that people actually read this type of stuff. but somehow, it always does.
I had a feeling next level games would pull through, their games rarely disappointed me. I have faith in their abilities as game developers, and i'll continue to support their future titles as well as this one.
@Marshi Most of those were complete failures. While it's true that they indeed tried to get into the movie/TV buisness, those were complete flops and we're very easily forgotten. I think miyamoto just means they want to get into a video market that's succesful.
@Marce2240 but the game hasn't even released yet, for all we know, that footage could've been shot in an early stage of development, the finished project could turn out to be a much faster paced game.
@Marce2240 @Lewieboy124 i understand that this game isn't an entry in the franchise that people were anticipating, nor did they really want it, and i can understand how that feels. but i just don't think people should judge a book by it's cover, that's all.
oh well guys, it's better than nothing! right?...on second thought, i'm content with letting my wallet collect dust in the corner rather than spend it on this game.
So...people don't really like the game because they don't like the visual style? i happen to recall the wind waker getting backlash because people thought the art style didn't suit the franchise, but it turned out to be a fantastic game! i'll reserve my judgement until after the game is released, unlike some people.

A part of me wonders what the world would be like if tabloids weren't some of the best selling "news" papers out there.
Re: Splatoon Producer Reflects on the Game's Popularity
Honestly, if a sequel to this game allowed you to switch between a 3rd person and 1st person perspective, that would be pretty cool!

The feminists and social justice warriors aren't gonna be happy about this decision...
