The gunfighting in this game is extremely tense, visceral & impactful. It really gets me "in the zone" in a way that only the Hotline Miami games have done in the past. The banging soundtrack really helps.
If you like the intensity of playing quickly in Hotline Miami you'll probably enjoy this. If you prefer taking your time in Hotline Miami & scoping everything out that doesn't really work in Otxo as there's a heavy emphasis on keeping your combo going.
The roguelike aspect will definitely put some off as there's not a great sense of permanent progression & it does result in lots of repetition in order to improve & get further onto the mansion. There's are a few things you can do to work around this ("Save & Quit" allows you to continue from the last level so you can use this when about to die, or to reroll the liqueurs / abilities available for purchase at the bar).
It's actually a really good game that I personally think would be even better if the roguelike bit was optional.
Has anyone played both Enclave & Blade of Darkness?
I'm really enjoying replaying Enclave. One of my most fondly remembered Xbox games. Sure, it's a bit rough around the edges but it just clicks with me & I find myself thoroughly enjoying it & replaying each mission to get maximum gold.
I never played Blade of Darkness back in the day so I don't have the same nostalgia for it, but I've read several times that it has a similar style & feel to Enclave. Looking at the screenshots it looks a tad more primitive than Enclave visually. From what I read it seems to be a bit of a love it or hate it game due to the control scheme & difficulty. Wondering if I should pick it up or whether it would end up being an exercise in frustration.
@Raptor78 You're right... The game artwork is in the main giveaway "poster" art. Hope your theory is right cos I already own Blazing Beaks which most people have guessed at.
Gotta admit this title surpassed my expectations. Sure, it's not pretty but the graphics are serviceable and it actually runs well. I'm a big horror fan and, for me at least, the gameplay really nails the hide-and-seek / cat-and-mouse elements of being stalked by a relentless killer. Personally I find the gameplay much more compelling and intense than Friday 13th.
@STiiPHEN, the game was temporarily removed from the EU eshop because of a ratings issue (https://twitter.com/cfk_news/status/1135739371376717824?s=21)... Good news is that seems to have been resolved and it's available again.

Re: Review: Night Slashers: Remake (Switch) - Some Nice, Gory Ideas, But The Visuals Are The Real Horror Story
I think the launch discount is 10% off, but if you own other Forever Entertainment titles it's 50% off.
Re: Mini Review: Otxo (Switch) - Think 'Roguelike Hotline Miami With Bullet Time, But Not As Good'
Otxo means wolf.

Re: Review: Inscryption - This Ingeniously Devilish Deck-Builder Is Still Ace On Switch
Wondering if the deck building aspects would prove difficult for someone that doesn't usually play card games...
Re: Review: Double Dragon Neon - An Energetic Reboot Which Has Aged Surprisingly Well
Embarrassingly I'm checking the UK eshop multiple times a day to see if this game has appeared.
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th March (Europe)
Pikuniku is gonna be super-cheap. Tempting.
Re: QubicGames Is Giving Away 10 Free Nintendo Switch Games: Today's Game Is Mana Spark
REKT seems pretty addictive but it's locked up completely on me 3 times already (frozen when the timer hits zero).

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 31st)
Playing Friday 13th.
Tempted by Heave Ho - The concept appeals but I rarely get the chance to play local coop and I suspect it's not worth it for single player.

Was hoping to pick up Wonder Boy Returns Remix as a guilty pleasure for this weekend... But it's been temporarily pulled from the EU eshop.
