That "N" on the corner of the box for Quest 64, with the pull back effect, makes everything else forgiven. There's a special charm with that "N" logo that makes the box look nice.
Honest question, has anyone tried & liked this game while NOT liking Binding of Isaac. I, like many others, tried hard to enjoy Isaac but I just couldn't. I just didn't like the feel of it-- the mechanics felt rigid/imprecise, and I didn't like the very small rooms. Felt like I was just going from one irritating room to another for no real reason.
This game looks interesting to me, especially thanks to the full co-op. Just don't want to buy it if it's going to have the same mechanics & feel as Isaac.
I LOVE the burnout series, but I couldn't get into paradise at all. The series just doesn't go well with open world in my opinion. You need a set course, as there's nothing worse then getting most of the way through a race just to make one bad turn, and have to find your way back to the starting line.
I got this last week based on the screenshots in the e-shop. I have already put about 20 hours into it, and it's my go to game at the moment. Well worth the asking price.
A 7-8 is probably fair as it really does just boil down to a grind fest in the end, but it is realllly enjoyable. The writing is good, the mechanics are really addicting, and there's always something more that you want to do.
One tip regarding the executive mini games--- play them once and then never again. Gifts are much easier obtained by upgrading your weapons and destroying asteroids around the home base for a few minutes. Doing that is also much more lucrative as you get a lot of moolah in the process.
@8-Bit_Zorldo As long as the GBA version port goes back to the original sound. The GBA port had the best translation + additional content, but they butchered the sound.
Would love to see something similar to what they did with Anthology & Chronicles on the PS1. The games were identical in visuals & audio, but had additional side features (FMV, Beastiary , etc..). I'd fully support that type of port with additional content added, especially for FF6.
I'd also be for changing the audio, but only if it's to use Nobuo Uematsu's symphonic versions of the same songs.
Actually I appreciated seeing that list of 3rd party titles on other systems from the first post. I was wondering if I was missing anything since I have a tendency to tunnel vision on a single console for no good or healthy reason (Switch being that console for the last 8 months). I'm both sad and relieved to see that nothing truly great is coming out on other systems at the moment (to my tastes at least). I'm taking a wait and see approach to monster hunter, but otherwise I guess I'll just keep playing my backlog on the switch.
Lots of grumblings regarding the review score. I can't say that I know if this game deserves a higher or lower score, but I think I know as to why there is a lot of fuss about the score. Below is my experience only, but something tells me that others may share the same view.
There were a lot of recent reviews on this site giving "8" scores to games. An 8 to me is a solid game. Initially I started buying those games only to find that they were closer to "5"' (nothing good about them, nothing terrible about them. Just blah). After being burned several times I came to the conclusion that anything less than an 8 on this site is "bad" , an 8 means I should check some other site to see other reviews, and anything over 8 is "Good". This view has served me surprisingly well over the last few months.
Then this game comes in with a lower than 8 score despite a decent number of community members holding it in higher regard. It gets compared to a lot of the other recent subpar games that got an 8 score, and there's grumblings. Whether or not this game is actually good or not, I appreciate the 6. Anything to break up the deluge of 8's, or to redefine the scoring system is a welcome change.
This is a ridiculously good game, but only in co-op. I've got 2 copies for the X360 & PS4, and I'll be getting 2 more for the switch when it comes out (it's that good). That said, if you can't play co-op then I would pass on this one due to bad AI, and lack of proper coordination in order to actually pull off some high adrenaline heists.
@thesilverbrick It's possible abilities are being worked on. The core requirements in the game for releasing the generation are already complete (dex entries, sounds, move assignments, gender ratios, etc..). The current build matches what was built when Gen 2 was released. However they aren't releasing the new Gen until December for unclear reasons. The working theory is that they are using the next month to develop abilities, and give time for the legendary beasts to complete their rotation.
Still tempted to get this one for co-op purposes. Wish this site reviewed the co-op aspects in more than one sentence, as co-op can substantially change the enjoyment of a game. It is a major game mode that is oddly left off of all reviews.
I continue to play out of habit since I've out too much into the game in order to just stop (hundreds of hours, pokedex is complete for now, lots of investment). The game is still going strong with lots of active players, but Niantic has really screwed up over the last few months with a lack of content. The player base has largely run out of things to do aside from boring grinds for XP, so Gen 3 needs to drop sooner than later.
I've heard near universal praise for 14, but I haven't played it to know if there was a good story there. 15 was a disaster though. 15 has a very detailed story, but the director screwed the game up so much that the in game story became a complete mess (bad pacing, the entire back story was never explained, critical pieces in the story were cut out). After beating the game and watching the movie I still had to search around to make sense of it. Turns out they really did put a lot of effort into creating the story, it just got butchered in the game.
I LOVED Culdcept Saga for the X360. Every few years I would look around to see if there were any new Culdcept games in english, or really anything similar to Culdcept to play, and there never has been anything. This is really a unique series that is well worth trying if you are looking for something different from the norm.
My only gripe, and it's a big one, is that this isn't on the switch. I'll have to dust off my 3DS, but this game is worth it.
@outsider83 PETA is an organization that stands for animal equality with humans (treating animals with the same laws and respect that are given to humans). For example, they are against the animal food industry & any practice that harms or kills animals.
The goals of the organization are all fine and good, but why they end up being the butt of jokes is that their decision making and tactics tare beyond horrible. Instead of going about things in a sensible or logical way they tend to go to the extreme and cause great damage to their cause every step of the way. For example, instead of raising awareness of animal cruelty, they would rather throw red paint on random people they see wearing fur. They are generally hated both by those who agree & disagree with their cause.
I'm quite surprised by the 8, as I found it to be a VERY meh 5. I purchased this on day 1 and have beaten the game (Assassin only), but just because I forced myself to. You wander from one room to the next, fighting 2 types of enemies in different skins (melee or ranged). Your goal is to systematically go through every room to get better equipment so you can get to the next floor. The equipment is just purely stat increases. Once you get to the next floor you repeat with the same monsters (in different skins) until you finally beat the boss monster, which is the same as any other monster just with more HP. Quests are a sham as it's either just stumble on 'x' item in one of the rooms, or beat a higher than normal HP monster. There's 3 worlds that differ in really no notable way, other than the 3rd is a bit harder than the others (the monsters have more HP).
There's really nothing good or bad in this game, it's all just a really bland grind from start to finish.
Two factor authentication simply means that a system requires you to supply both your password and a token to confirm it is you. The token is generally delivered to a device that only you can access, like your cell phone. No additional personal information is needed for the token to be set up.
It is truly additional security as if someone hacks/gets your password they still can't log in as you without the token. On the flipside if someone steals your cell phone/token device, the token is useless without the person knowing your password.
It's not a perfect system, but it's a whole bunch more secure than just a single password which you have to trust companies to secure.

Re: Pokémon GO Global Catch Challenge Ends In Success
Farfetch'd is only available until 5pm PST today (a little over 2 more hours from this post). It was released roughly 46 hours ago.
All other bonuses (double xp, double stardust, 6 hour lures) will last until 1pm PST on December 1st.

Re: Payday 2 is Still Set for a 'Winter' Release on Nintendo Switch
@Starbuster I play this locally with my significant other. It's a single player game with online co-op, so in my case we need 2 copies and 2 systems.
