@EightBitMan Nintendo fans interested by these games most likely either have a PC or a PS4/Xbox. World would run terribly on switch. Not because the switch is bad, but because of it's main attractive point: Being a handheld.
It's absurd to keep comparing games made for desktop pc/home consoles with games for the switch.
And content wise, Smash obliterates everything and doesn't rely on lootboxes.
I don't see a problem with improving the previous iteration again and again. Many games do it and it works just fine. Don't need to reinvent the wheel. Same for MK8, they could just release new cups from other Nintendo IPs and it'd be gold.
@EvilLucario Get both physical and digital
For a game like Smash I would say it's totally worth it to have it digital so you can always play it when you feel like it.
Also remember guys $140 for 400GB microsd card on Amazon Prime Day is not a bad deal at all.
I really hope it'll be related to GC/N64, but I've come not to expect it from Nintendo. Sad, they have so many amazing IPs and game and they can bring them ALL on switch. NES, SNES, GB, GBA, DS, 3DS, N64, GC... they could easily have the console with the most content in no time...
@Cobalt I would bet that non casual gamers have another platform in addition to the switch. Like a PC or PS4/Xbox. So it's not "a dream" for them. And I think these people are aware that PS5/new xbox games aren't meant to play on a handled. It's not even that they would be too weak (you don't need 4k for handheld, 720p is enough) but rather that the battery life would be ridiculously low. There's need for a revolution regarding batteries first.
@carlos82 I have the feeling that Nintendo is heading to that direction since they already started including some characters from other IPs. Let's stay hopeful
They had a good game, with lots of characters from their different IPs, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed had good critics and the game was really fun.
What do they do? They remove all the non Sonic characters. And they tell us the game will be very different. Why? Why not building on your success and make a game even greater? You own all these IPs... so why?
I too had Wonderboy and Alex Kidd as my heroes when I was young. I don't care about any of these characters and so this isn't an incentive to get this game...
Nintendo is just defending itself. They could be banning the account directly and they don't. If you buy a pre-owned game that was banned, just return it and buy a new one. Inconvenient, but you can thank pirates for that. This article makes it sound like they're barely responsible...
I played over 40 hours so far and havent noticed any drops in docked mode. Undocked has issues but its still very responsive (unlike dark souls 1 framerate drops that introduces input lag).
However one question... how the heck can they know for sure the native resolution in undocked mode? It runs on a 720p screen, how do they know that theres some downscaling going on?
