The awards Elden Ring took home really clash with each other. That’s just ridiculous. Arceus was mind blowing so I’m glad it got Nintendos award but holy hell.
@WaltherP99 Not really, they have many but have very poor decisions in recent years under Jim Ryan. They used to have way way more brilliant exclusives but Ryan shuttered Japan Studio, passed on investment opportunities to chase controversial trends (live services, primarily) while simultaneously saying everyone else is at fault for it. It’s playground logic, Sony’s loss of footing is their own fault. I am a huge PlayStation and Nintendo nut, but Sony is looking really pathetic here. Also, they had a potential competitor to CoD. It was called Killzone.
It's nice to see transparency like this. I'd rather get the game earlier (assuming it's polished) and extra content later. I'd imagine they finished the game as a priority and worried about packaging after, or hell, maybe the response to the announcement was so positive they decided after the fact to make a collector's edition.
I really look forward to this. From the voice work she's done, it's clear her father left a lasting impact. This game was already looking interesting and seems look better and better.
@Gitface exactly, all of the authors write very well and are a joy to read. Hers just stand out, and that's rare with gaming. It's like Jason Schreier, if he writes on Kotaku I care and am very much enraptured. Kate is similar, there's a ton of personality and it's clear she genuinely cares about what she's writing!
@Mr_Fox Same, I honestly can't help but feel she's going to either get a promotion or move onto greener pastures. Her writing has character and stands out too much to be just another editor.
Copyrights exists for things like this, fan games are more grey area but this takes a brand and could damage it. i mean you're shooting pokemon. I don't blame them for this at all, though they often do overdo it.
While I found Sword and Shield lacking compared to Sun and Moon, many disagree. That's the issue. People grow up but Pokemon is a family friendly franchise. I want more postgame content, I want less linear areas. Diamond and Pearl were great because of the side areas like the old chateau. In the end, I want to enjoy the games. Sw/Sh were vastly enjoyable, just not as much as some of the other games. Just enjoy the games, if you don't feel like you're respected because they didn't include a Pikachu with an assault rifle and an eyepatch then maybe you've outgrown the franchise.
@illmatic20xx I hated P5, despite loving the previous entries. SMT is much darker, much more grindy and has far far less of the social mini game content. Structurally, it's not too different (gameplay wise) from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Take from that what you will.

Alas, all our effort to prevent their extinction will be for naught. For the all servers must eventually end.
I dunno who wrote this description but they must be new to game development.
