Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 1.2.0 Is Now Live

People calling for nerfs when the games only been out a week have some seriously warped thinking.

There is no meta for this game yet. There is no body of knowledge and tournament results to appeal to. We’re onlt jus begging to learn how the characters work, let alone all of the matchups and strategies.

Chill. Out.

Love Katamari Damacy and can’t wait to get it on the Swich, absolutely the perfect console for it!

I kind of agree with him Re: BotW but disagree about Odyssey.
For me BotW is the least Zelda-like Zelda ever. It makes sense that lots of people who don’t like Zelda love this game. I’ve sunk a lot of hours in and I’m just grinding out my last few shrines and memories + the DLC content, and while ive enjoyed my time and think the first part of the game is quite magical, it’s honestly got less interesting as it’s gone on. The story is terrible and there’s a HUGE disconnect between the idea that this is a post apocalyptic waste land and the fact that in all the towns and cities everything’s going fine. It features the least charismatic version of Gannon from any Zelda game, the Beasts are weak as hell as are their bosses, there are no real dungeons, and while some of the shrines are delightfully thoughtful puzzles and some of the shrine quests the best part of the game, too many of them focus on repeated content.

It’s a shame because the exploration aspect is excellent, and Hyrule itself has never been more alive and awe inspiring. With the immense sense of scale the first 10-20 hours or so of gameplay literally made me feel like I was 8 years old again, wandering into Hyrule field for the first time ever in Ocarina of Time. But overall without dungeons, unique bosses and items, and with the worst characterization (apart from Zelda) and story of any 3D Zelda game, I do feel it’s just not as whole as experience as many others in the series.

Odyssey however just seems to me to be objectively the best 3D Mario ever. I mean 3D World/Galaxy might perhaps be slightly ‘tighter’, or better balanced or whatever, but that linear style just does nothing for me. Odyssey is more exploration, more character, charm, tighter controls. I mean given, in terms of sandbox Mario’s there are only 64 and Sunshine to compete with, but Odyssey improves on those formulas in every way for me.

@Swaz
Agreed!
Moon was the first one I'd played since Gold and the idea that people are complaining about /these/ games for dumbing Pokemon down is laughable when you consider just how inane and terrible the writing and plot of that game was.

So far the ONLY evidence that people have that these games are 'dumbed down' is the lack of random encounters - which let be honest, we all just avoid with Repels at the first change we get - and the fact that you have to use motion controls - which, sure I don't love, but whatever.

People talking about how these games are targeted at kids. ALL THE GAMES ARE TARGETED AT KIDS.

So when whining about these games, stop and think for a second, because the evidence people are mustering to argue that these games are going to be anything other than the fun light-hearted RPGs Pokemon have always been is very, very weak.
