Re: Ninterview: Heather "Miss Gamer Girl" Cascioli

Good interview...until she started talking about how she plays other systems more. Boo!! I thought this was NINTENDOLife. lol. I may not own every single game and know every bit of game trivia, but I never sold out to the other 2 consoles.

Re: Konami: Forget Everything You Know About Castlevania

DaemonSword

It was inevitable. I liked the old formula, but they seemed to be running out of ideas before LoS (Portrait Of Ruin was the last one that I liked, Order Of Ecclesia had some good things, but was a clusterF overall, and it didn't recover after that). I welcome the change and the update to more mature themes, which, unless the game was going to hire the late Leslie Nielsen to be Dracula, the camp was getting worse that what Joel Schumacher was doing with the Batman film franchise.

Re: Latest Figures Show The Video Game Market Is Contracting

60 bucks for a Wii U game is pretty steep, and only the best games will be bought. If I get a Wii U now, until the economy really turns around, most of the games purchased from me will be from the eShop, sadly. Haven't they learned from Shyster Sony that overpricing doesn't work, and their own system, the original low-risk Wii dominated from the get-go, selling at a reasonable price (at least until HDtv's became affordable)?

Re: EA: Excited About New Generation Which Is "Yet to Come"

DaemonSword

@Captain_Balko Indeed, EA SUX. My hatred for them goes back to the Ultima series and how they sucked Origin Systems dry. In 1990, Origin openly based several bloodthirsty pirates in Ultima VI on senior EA employees Trip Hawkins (Captain Hawkins), Joe Ybarra (Old Ybarra), Bing Gordon (Alastor Gordon) and Steward Bonn (Bonn). "Hawkins was a dreaded pirate who sailed the Britannian seas on his ship 'The Empire,' prior to the events of Ultima VI. His cruelty eventually caused him to be murdered by his own crew, who split up the map to his treasures amongst themselves." Richard Garriott also named a morgue after Hawkins. Hawkins' tombstone reads: "Here lies Captain Hawkins. He died a hard death and he deserved it." This gives an idea how much his crew hated him. The practice continued in Ultima VII wherein three generators formed the EA logo, the initials of the "bad guys" Elizabeth and Abraham were "EA," and the Guardian was the "Destroyer of Worlds" (Origin's motto was "We Create Worlds").

Re: Capcom: Resident Evil Revelations 3DS Sales Could Have Been Better

DaemonSword

If they look at the ratio of customers who actually owned a 3DS at the time, vs how many of those people purchased the game, they really should be happy, not upset (or even more happy they didn't make it for exclusive for the Vita). I will def buy it (would prefer download, but cart is okay) once my promotion pay kicks in.

Re: Pinball Games Contribute to a Revival of Real Tables

DaemonSword

I've always been a pinball fan, and lucky to see many of the classics just 15 min away at my local Scandia. That being said, I'm disappointed on how Farsight Studios is handling The Pinball Arcade on the 3DS. I'm glad they've gotten access to a lot of old tables, and they're doing a good job on getting those to the consoles and computer gaming, but nothing but crickets on the 3DS (other than that one barebones game)

Re: Castlevania: Mirror of Fate Will Take About 16 Hours To Suck You Dry

DaemonSword

Hmmmm...whatever most people tend to post on start/finish times, I imagine it is going to be longer. He wasn't specific on whether you are a time racer or not, or if you already know what to get or not. Me, I enjoy getting immersed in a game, like getting my moneys worth, and hate 'racing' to the end (unless its a racing game, of course).

Re: Review: Gunman Clive (3DS eShop)

DaemonSword

Gunman Clive is an excellent game, using today's techonology, but using the classic formula of good ole platform gaming, taking me back to C64/Amiga days. Definitely a must have for the price. Wish Nintendo would at least offer some Amiga classics now...
