The only thing that would stop me buying this is the fact you have to character figurines to okay with that particular character which sucks. But its definitely a superb looking game.

Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

Chris720

@DanteSolablood But you see, you can buy a refurbished 3DS from Nintendo themselves for cheaper than this, plus their one year warranty and it includes 3D. So the "value" part of it is turning more and more into bull.

Not to mention, the original 3DS is far more aesthetically pleasing, you can put it into any pocket, you can turn off the 3D through parental controls (and what 6 year old knows how to access parental controls? Not to mention guess a 4 digit code?) and I've dropped my original 3DS on to concrete and the most damage it had was a slight scratch that was barely noticeable.

I fail to see what market this could possibly have. I understand children are butter fingers and clumsy as heck, so what's the point in having those screens unprotected like that? I can see that getting scratched and damaged far quicker than on the 3DS/XL.

Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

Chris720

@DanteSolablood But there's Parental Controls to block 3D usage to stop naughty fingers turning it on.

I understand the value part of it, but surely they could have made it a bit more aesthetically appealing. It looks like a leap frog kind of thing, it's horrible.

It will also confuse parents even more, considering a lot of them are dumb as poo these days. And I can see developers will probably start shovelling out 2D only games now.

Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

I understand where Nintendo are coming from making this system. I just don't understand why... it's ugly, it's not pocket friendly and it's huge.

The whole point of the 3DS was to play in 3D and even 2D if necessary. If parents don't understand that the 3DS can also be played in 2D, then they shouldn't come anywhere near the internet in the first place.

What market could this possibly have that the 3DS isn't already in? The 3DS can play 3D and 2D, this can play just 2D, no matter what way you look at it, you're getting half a system here.

Re: Layton 7 is Announced, and Looks Like Quite a Departure

Chris720

Really, the sales diminished in Japan with each release? Wow... they must really hate Professor Layton.

Personally, it's a really good game with some crazy puzzles and good story-telling. Other than that, it can lose its appeal rather quickly...

As for Layton 7 (hopefully this is a working title...), it might come through as a good game, but if not, I can the series dying right there and then.

Re: Metroid Fan Film Seeks Crowdfunding For Completion

Chris720

@unrandomsam Well there was no reason for Nintendo to say no, Bowser only appeared for what, 2-3 minutes? No point charging Disney to show their character for such a short amount of time.

As for this, it sounds interesting... but I think Nintendo will be shutting this down as soon as they catch sniff of this.

Re: Video: This Monster Hunter 4 Trailer May Be The Best Yet

Chris720

@rmeyer Before Christmas?! Lol, I hope you mean Christmas 2014 because there is no way they'll be releasing MH4 in the west this year!

Do you have any idea how long it takes to translate every single piece of text from Japanese to English? We had to wait a year and a half for MH3U to be released.

Re: Review: 10-in-1: Arcade Collection (3DS eShop)

Chris720

I agree with the 6/10, simply because it's not great and it's not awful either. It's simply middle ground.

The price is perfect, the games, while simple, are enjoyable and work well. The music is good enough to enlarge the games enjoyment. And it's brilliant for a couple minutes here and there to have a go at it.

Re: Review: 10-in-1: Arcade Collection (3DS eShop)

Chris720

It's a pretty decent title with some pretty good games. Lack of a score board is a killer though especially since it's based around the whole concept of getting the best score possible.

I definitely enjoy the Asteroids remake though, use to play that a lot in the good old PC gaming days. But the controls are great, but at least they work.

Re: BBC Warns Of Online Gaming Addiction, Uses Image Of Someone Playing Offline Mario Kart

Chris720

@C-Olimar "A report is a statement of fact. You have given me an opinion." You're nit-picking on that bit? Really? Lol.

I found David Tennant and Matt Smith did their jobs really well playing as the Doctor. But compared to the old series of Doctor Who, before Christopher Eccleston, it really isn't anything special. It's missing that fear factor that was prevalent in the older shows. When Steven Moffat took over, I feel as if the shows quality went down by miles. At least it was still decent with Russel T Davies.

As for Series 7, just what was that? I want it to be as amazing as it was before, not some kiddy show with more wit than fear. I just hope the new actor (whatever his name is) will bring back the darker tone the show desperately needs.

Re: Ubisoft Gives French President François Hollande A Wii U

Chris720

@banacheck What? Have you seen YouTube for the past 5 or 6 years? YouTube primarily boomed because of Call of Duty videos, along with other stuff of course.

Also, "thats why its on the Wii U", it's on every console and PC. What the buck kind of comment is that?

"isn't COD mainly an Xbox game?", yes and no. Microsoft have a partnership with Activision to have all the DLC released months before the other consoles. It also sells really well on the 360 because of the ball-less"teens".
