Re: SEGA Reportedly Interested in Acquiring Atlus' Parent Company

Chris720

I'm honestly not sure. Nintendo buying Atlus would make a lot of sense and they can give them more exposure in the Western market, like what they've done with the recent promotion in NA.

SEGA would also be a good fit since they have a good relationship with both Nintendo and Sony, but it'll likely stay in just the Japanese market.

Both would work great, but Nintendo may give Atlus a better edge in the long run.

Re: IGN Editor: If Wii U Doesn't Pick Up, Nintendo Should Look To New Hardware

Chris720

How would creating a new console help? The only problem with the Wii U is its severe lack of games. The Wii U is currently on life support, but once those games start pouring in then it'll be doing circles around Sony and Microsoft.

Another problem, which is more of a lazy developers problem, is the architecture of the console being so different from the consoles currently on the market. The Wii U just shows that most developers care about getting their game out as quickly as possible and not fine-tuning it to be the best it possibly can on each platform.

Re: Review: Spelunker (3DS eShop / NES)

Chris720

For a title called Spelunker, you'd think the 'hero' would be able to survive falls quite easily... not die in mid-air! How weak is this guy that he dies from falling on to air?!

I bet the Japanese love it because it's so absurdly stupid... or easy.

Re: 3DS UK Success in 2013 Offset by Abysmal Wii U Figures

Chris720

@Phantom_R That's not very nice. I don't think the majority of the UK are all that well-rounded with the Japanese, therefore they buy American or British hardware and buy very generic American or British orientated games.

Nintendo clearly still have a market in the UK, so we're not all 360 crazy fanboys who play FIFA all day.

Re: China Ready To Finally Lift Game Console Ban

Chris720

I don't understand China at all... what a crazy bunch.

Besides, if China is already over-saturated with mobile gaming, what hope does Sony and Microsoft have? Nintendo have already (sort of) penetrated the market with the iQue and I don't see Microsoft moving anything, they hardly move anything in Japan. Sony could probably do something though.

But, oh wait, we have all those copies that they make... I don't see this working at all.

Re: 3DS eBook App Details Emerge in Japan

Chris720

Come on, everyone in NA and EU wants to read manga and anime too y'know.

If we get an eBook reader, it shall be truly awesome! Oh, and let us put our own books on there too via the SD Card... some people have quite a lot of books downloaded from Amazon. >_>

Re: Miyamoto: Mario Will Likely Return To Single-Player

Chris720

Problem is, you can't really expand too much with Mario. It's always followed the same path of completing one course to unlock the next, but Mario 64 and Sunshine went beyond that which was quite nice.

I wouldn't mind an open world feel where you can go wherever you want, but you have to have so many stars to unlock a certain course before you can continue. There's quite a few possibilities they can go into, but I think Nintendo have got stuck into the "complete one level to unlock the next" mentality.

Re: Over 200,000 Gamers Have Bought StreetPass Mii Plaza DLC

Chris720

@Tech Well Japan is their biggest market compared to everywhere else, so it can't be that... can it?

EU has mainly been a PS and Microsoft fan base, so I can see why they want to try to put their name out there a little more.

@SkywardLink98 There are plenty of games that never got moved over to the EU and only stayed in NA.

Re: Review: Urban Trial Freestyle (3DS eShop)

Chris720

Bought it on release day and it's a really good game, there are a few aspects that I would like cleaned up and the addition of level sharing and actually seeing a leader board, the in-game boards don't really tell you much.

I also agree that "it’s nowhere near as good as the Trials series", but it's still a really good substitute.

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Has Lost Its "Mojo"

Chris720

Developers dropped support quite a bit during the first few years of the Wii because it wasn't as powerful, but when it started moving, the devs jumped on to the bandwagon. I think we'll be seeing that again this time.

The Wii U is a powerful little console, it's just a shame developers are too lazy these days, they want to make a game as quickly as possible without much hassle and reap as much money. Since the Wii U is built differently compared to the 360 and PS3, I doubt we'll be seeing many ports.

Re: Poll: How Important is Dual / Second Screen Gaming?

Chris720

The Wii U GamePad screen will be better used eventually, but so far there hasn't been a game that uses it extremely well. There has been good uses on Batman and Zombi U (forgot about that one lol).

But every game mainly uses it for the off-screen play, which actually works really well. I just hope there's a game that uses the GamePad's screen properly rather than just an inventory screen.

Re: Talking Point: The Uncertain Collectible Future of Download-Only Game Libraries

Chris720

I doubt Nintendo will shut down any of their previous online stores any time soon. And since it looks like Nintendo are going to stick with the eShop name, I can see them closing down the DSi and Wii specific shops in maybe 10-20 years and moving those downloads over to the eShop, which hopefully would be unified by then.

Maybe once WiiWare and DSiWare start dying off and developers are moving on to the eShop they might close them down and move the content over to the eShop.

Re: Review: BUGS vs. TANKS! (3DS eShop)

Chris720

@dumedum Every country has made mistakes, every country has had blood on their hands, every country has commited horrendous crimes against humanity. But Germany is usually always the one that gets the stick, even now. Sure, Germany was despicable during the 2 World Wars, but so were America and Britain. And if you can't acknowledge that... well then...

Besides, this is no place for religion or politics.

Re: Rumour: Mario Kart 8 Coming To Wii U in April

Chris720

I wouldn't be surprised really. Hopefully when they do release MK8, they'll have the releases for Japan, NA and Europe quite close together. There is nothing worse than having to wait while your NA friend is playing a game a full month before you can.

Re: Nintendo Defends Influx of New Mario Titles

Chris720

I'm sorry to say, but there's too much Mario. Where's our Metroid, Star Fox, F-Zero, Kirby etc.?

Mario may sell consoles, but you certainly can't live on him forever, people are already starting to get fed up. If Mario can have 2 or more releases on 1 console, why can't their other IPs?
