Re: Reaction: Nintendo's Steady Start in Retail Downloads

Chris720

It would've done better if it wasn't so expensive, full price for a game with no cartridge, no box, no artwork and no manual. Really?! I can buy all that for £25.

Downloads need to be on par (or lower) than physical copies. I mean seriously, there is no middle man and no transport needed for the download option, only the development costs.

Oh and I get charged for the middle man, transport and development at £25... yeah... Nintendo, you need to find a new plan and quickly.

Re: Nintendo Power Magazine Looks Set to Shut Down

Chris720

To be honest though, the internet is quicker at getting to the news while magazines take a month or so before they're released... I'm surprised gaming magazines have lasted this long really. It's a shame when old icons pass but life must go on and we have to change with it.

Re: Iwata: Nintendo Won't Deceive With DLC

Chris720

I have hopes, Nintendo hasn't failed us thus far, but we still have several years before Ninty might step back and say: "Y'know what, hold half of the game back and let's make them pay for the other half."

So far, I'm quite happy though. Square Enix's Thearhythm DLC has been fine at 90p a song and it's not exactly needed, because without it you still have a tonne of stuff to do but it's nice to have it there for when you want to play/learn a new Final Fantasy song.

Re: Review: SpeedX 3D (3DS eShop)

Chris720

@kawka: "And you judge the framerate looking at a youtube video? Without acrually buying the game? clap clap clap..."

After reading that comment from the Head of Production for Gamelion Studio's, I'm definitely not being this game... bye bye.

Re: Preview: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Chris720

This game looks really nice, the textures, the sound effects, looks like a very well polished game indeed. Can't wait to get this game in my hands... I just hope if it's short that it's got enough replay value, but if it's long I hope it has enough variety.

Re: Wii U Box Art Breaks Cover

Chris720

I don't like the yellow underneath it... the blue looks fine, but I think it's missing something, maybe the blue should look more shiny or glossy...

Re: Feature: Crazy Nintendo Crossovers We'd Like to See

Chris720

"I've got legitimate cause to complain."

Might be legitimate, but we don't want to hear it...

On-topic, none of these cross-overs would work well in my opinion... they're all kinds of junk. I've never found cross-overs to work all that well in the first place except for maybe a few rare good ones... maybe? Either way, it has to appeal to both fans and if it doesn't do that well it's doomed to failure.

For example, I like Advance Wars, but I'm not a fan of WarioWare.

Re: Reaction: Age Ratings and Video Games

Chris720

@IAmNotWill There's still a few minors sitting around these places. :3

I've never had a problem with age restrictions, but surely it should be down to the parent as to whether the child is mature enough to play the game or not, but then again most parents these days are far too lazy to care...

Yes, this stops minors from buying an age restricted game, but it doesn't stop them from playing it...

Re: Full 3DS Retail Downloads Have Teething Troubles

Chris720

It's like a battlefield in here... don't know why I'm surprised though, most news stories on here like these end up with raving lunatics...

I'm not surprised with their servers crashing, Japan probably wanted to see how long it would take to download their games.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Digital Pricing

Chris720

No, simply because you're paying the same amount for just an icon, you might as well pay the same amount and get that new game smell, box and lovely box artwork. Until Nintendo coughs up and gives retail downloads a massive decrease in price, I'm sticking with the boxed version.

Re: Bing Gordon: Nintendo's 'On Track' to Primarily Focus on Software

Chris720

I don't think I can see Nintendo dropping out, at least not yet. I think they still have a few more tricks up their sleeves somewhere. Miyamoto will eventually leave Nintendo, either through sickness or death, and someone is going to have to pick up where he left off, but I can't see anyone beating Miyamoto's creative mind or his video game creative talent.

Time will tell, but I think it'll be many years before Nintendo throws in the towel and goes software only.

Re: Michael Pachter: Activision Demanded Wii U Pro Controller for CoD

Chris720

@Miss_Birdo I meant as in the Wiimote and Nunhcuk use the same concept, aiming and buttons/control stick. Both work fine for me, however the mouse isn't as fluid though... obviously.

But dual analog can go burn in hell.

@kid3dizzy We're not hating on "the series for no reason", we actually do have a reason. My reason is simple, it's over-hyped every year, people praise it as the best game known to man and Activision milk it like crazy. CoD has done nothing new in years, why? Because it's a run of the mill FPS game. CoD is still working on the same formulae as the very first FPS, but with more glits and glam on top.

Re: Michael Pachter: Activision Demanded Wii U Pro Controller for CoD

Chris720

It gives you a more immersive feeling, I'll agree with that but that's about it really. Other than that, it's near identical, you aim with the mouse and fiddle with many buttons on a keyboard. :3

But dual analog is just atrocious, how anyone can aim with a stick after using the Wii for many years I don't know. But if I have to, it'll take me many years to get out of it, but I doubt I'll buy another FPS if it's "traditional" controls only.

Re: Talking Point: 3DS XL's Media Potential

Chris720

@C-Olimar AAC's only for the DSi. :/

@Wilford111 The 3DS is showing promise with video content, but it's very few and far between. Although there is Netflix as @GameCube said, it's not available in Europe so Nintendo are missing out on a large amount of people in that area.

Re: Feature: James's Favourite Nintendo Life Moments

Chris720

I am going to miss you James, you're one of the best chaps on this site and to see you go is a bit of a bummer man. I hope everything goes well for you at Nintendo and have an even greater experience there than what you have had here.

You've done a fabulous job and I'm sure everyone will agree that you'll be sorely missed!

By the way, I'm keeping this photo... just look at that face!

Re: White Tanooki Mario to The Rescue in New Super Mario Bros. 2

Chris720

@HADAA We're not telling you what to do at all, I personally find it really weird why you (not you, just people in general) would need something like this in the first place since the only way to getting better is via trial and error, not trial and then help, that's my point. Yes, there are people who struggle and get frustrated and then give up but then I ask myself, "Didn't you expect a challenge?"

I admit I've died enough times in DKCR and NSMBW that those two help things showed up, so I am in no way shape or form a "pro" I just simply walk back in and try again until I succeed.

Re: Nigoro: Still a Chance for La-Mulana on WiiWare

Chris720

@Brando67854321
You're just digging yourself a grave, you better shuddup while your behind.

As for La-Mulana, I was interested but after all this waiting I can't be bothered, it'll be good to see it finally released on WiiWare but I do hope they'll bring it over to the eShop at some point, I think it'll be a better platform for it with less constraints and stuffs.

Re: White Tanooki Mario to The Rescue in New Super Mario Bros. 2

Chris720

@chiptoon I'm not quite sure what to make of that comment. o_O

Anyway... I am in no way amazing at video games, I'm just good at some and I got good by dealing with challenges and learning to get around them. This is one reason why I hate today's generation of gamers, most of them get way too much hand holding with games now a days, why can't you learn how to get around the challenge without getting molly cuddled? We had to grim and bear back in the Game Boy days, why can't you grim and bear it on your 3DS? :/

And what's even more weirder is this is NSMB2, y'know... the one with a bajillion coins? Which also means a bajillion lives? Why would you need white Racoon Mario when you have 99 lives to burn and then some?

Good grief I sound old... and I'm actually rather young. D:

Re: Project Sora Disbanded

Chris720

It's neither sad news nor terrible news, it was created for Kid Icarus Uprising and only Kid Icarus Uprising. It closed when they had finished the game, the developers go back to the main company, job done.

Re: White Tanooki Mario to The Rescue in New Super Mario Bros. 2

Chris720

Why do they always have to put in these guides? If you can't get past a difficult challenge then try a new way of getting around it, simple.

It was bad enough in NSMBW and DKCR. However, DKCR was admittedly quite hard in some areas than others, but why would you need a guide in Mario? I don't really understand that... in my mind it's probably one of the easier platformers out there you can play.
