Now that college life has started to slow down a bit, I've been able to get back to some gaming. I started Pokemon Rangers since it's not a game I need to invest a lot of time and effort into, and I must say it's super fun! I was worried that the circle-drawing mechanic would become easy and repetitive, but it changes things often and puts up a hard challenge at times. There's real technique required to master this game. Definitely recommend it!
What a shock! Super Mario Bros 1 is genuinely my favorite out of the pre-New Super Mario bros games. I'm not sure why, but I think it has to do with the pure arcade-like experience. It feels fresh and timeless every time I boot up level 1-1. I'm always down to give it another go!
I'll never get the love for Galaxy 1, and mind you, this is one of the very first video games I've ever played, so you'd think I have nostalgia bias for it. Don't get me wrong, it's got some of the best cinematics I've seen in a video game, quite beautiful and heart-wrenching, but first and foremost, it's a game, and it's gameplay is too simple and linear for me. And don't even get me started on Luigi mode. Who on Earth decided that playing the same entire tedious game again with no remarkable change should be required for 100%? This is, imo, straight up horrible game design. It doesn't matter how wonderful a game is; repeating the whole thing over again is utterly ridiculous, especially one this long. Sunshine's blue coins aren't all that miserable compared to this. My ranking for 3D Mario games goes: Odyssey, Sunshine, 64, Galaxy 2, Bowser's Fury, Galaxy 1, 3D World, 64DS, 3D Land.
@Kirbyo I feel that, my friend. I just became a college freshman several days ago, and trying to get used to life on campus has been an adventure in and of itself, let alone actually studying and getting homework done. Good luck to you though!
I finished Aria of Sorrow, and man, it was fantastic! It's the first Castlevania game I have beat if you don't count me using the rewind function countless times to beat Legends on NSO 😅. Now I'm working on Circle of the Moon. They weren't wrong about how difficult this game is. I'm currently stuck on the fourth boss. It's still a fun game though, and I really enjoy the DSS mechanic. Happy gaming all!🦇🧟♂️🧛
I don't understand the problem everyone has with the LOOK of this game. It's the FEEL of it that worries me a lot. Staying confined to the city sounds like a terrible choice. Navigating through streets and narrow alleys the entire game? Lumiose city was confusing enough in X&Y; I dread how often I'll need to look at the map just to reach one location. The number one question on my mind is: Just how "open" is this world?/How open will it become over time? Not enough freedom and gameplay becomes stale, but too much freedom and it becomes Tears of the Kingdom, where exploration practically doesn't exist if your only concern is getting from point A to B. I know we saw those warp pads that take you to the rooftops, but we still have no idea how much it will impact the game. Oh, but I will say the new battle system does look very interesting, I'll give it that.
I played through Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze with my brother recently. I must say, this game is simply incredible! I didn't expect it to be nearly this great! Overall, Returns is still my favorite game in the series, (probably due to nostalgia) but this is a super close second. Also playing through Castlevania Aria of Sorrow and loving it. Not much else to say about it I guess. And I 100% completed BOTW! I defeated Calamity Ganon afterwards to top it all off. What can I say more about this game? It's a masterpiece, one I'll definitely revisit many more times. I still have Master Mode to 100% after all...
@Bowsers-Inside-Story Thank you! Ironically, I'm not a huge fan of the DS Zeldas, but I love the anoukis a lot. I hope they come back in a new 2D game someday. It's a shame they weren't in Echoes of Wisdom; they would've fit in perfectly with its cute art style.
It was incredible playing through this game for the first time through NSO, even all these years after its release. TTYD is the more creative of the two, but this has much more consistent gameplay, the only tedious part being Flower Fields. It's the best Paper Mario in my book! (no pun intended)
After all these years, I'm finally getting around to 100% complete Breath of the Wild. Even while following a guide, the koroks still took a few days, and now the only thing I have left to do (hopefully) is defeat remaining hinoxes and taluses for Kilton's medals. It's been fun though, and you know a game is peak when doing very mundane tasks still gives some entertainment! Also started Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. So far it's been a pretty average experience, but I started the first guild expedition and I get the feeling things are about to get interesting. Happy gaming everyone!
Am I the only one that really wants a new Pokepark game? Sure, the first game isn't anything special, and was targeted for young children, but Wonders Beyond had so much more depth to it. The story was great as far as Pokemon spin-offs go, and it's quite a fun, unique challenge to get all friends for 100% completion. There's a lot they could do with this series if they ever went for another game.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Chibi-Robo!: Park Patrol
It's close, but I chose Japan because the wall outlets being used as the dakuon in ちびロボ fits a lot more than being used for the "i"s in chibi.
