God this game looks so fun. It should be coming for me today, but I wanna finish the original before I try it out (and inevitably never look back at the first one)
Oh man, I remember worrying about whether or not Fate/Extella Link would come to Switch way back in like, August I think. Super stoked to get the Fleeting Glory edition.
I've definitely got friends who've gotten sucked into GBF, but isn't Cygames relatively consumer-friendly for a mobage dev?
At the end of the day, it's ludicrous to act like microtransactions in a game like Fate/Grand Order or Dragalia Lost are even close to normal console games, and acting elitist because you only play "real games" is even more stupid. But mobage are definitely worthy of criticism.
I think this is more a Sakurai thing than a Nintendo thing, but still... Dude, stop. Take a break. Do Not Injure Yourself To Make A Video Game. Do Not Hurt Yourself For The Amusement Of Others.
Did people think Gyakuten Saiban would sell well physically? It's the definition of a download game. At least it's on HD consoles for the first time ever.
I mean, what else would you expect from a game in the same vein as Fate/Grand Order, which has raised almost 2 billion USD (more than Fortnite) by itself?
Say what you will about gacha mobile games, they're definitely popular, and an effective technique at generating revenue.
Also, @sevex, it's on the Canadian app store now.
@AlternateButtons ...I listed a Japan exclusive Dragon Quest game because it's in the article. A game that's Japan exclusive because Dragon Quest has seen relatively little success in the West prior to XI, and a game that's Japan exclusive due to Square Enix.
@AlternateButtons I must've missed all those million seller Doraemon games in the west. Or the western release of Dragon Quest Rivals on mobile. Or the commercial acclaim of the MLB Power Pro games.
@AlternateButtons Why spend money on translation and promotion for a game that will sell poorly, especially since it can be played in the west with relative ease anyways? Besides, it's very unlikely that it was Nintendo who decided that these games wouldn't come westward.
EDIT: Also, there really isn't a reason to localize everything considering how few people in the west care about these games.
Why do people think Nintendo "saves the juicy stuff for E3". Nintendo focuses on one main game for E3, and then has some other cool announcements for the rest of it. It's basically just a souped-up direct.
Game devs need to unionize. This is just sickening. Nintendo is far from perfect (it is a massive corporation, after all), but at least the executives took the fall when they were in trouble, instead of employees just doing their jobs.
The "seal of quality" never meant anything about actual quality. There was just as much garbage on the NES as there is now. The only thing it has ever meant was that the product was officially licensed. It was one of Nintendo's many attempts to curb unlicensed products, as they saw them as one of the main reasons for Atari's failure.
@Ogbert I get what you mean, but the last Nintendo system to sell over a million units was the DS from 2004. Whereas the PS4 is already over 90 after less than 6 years. There isn't really as big a divide between "core gamers" and "casual gamers" as people think there is.
I really don't understand why this is being treated like a good thing. It makes an extreme amount of sense for companies to not double the cost of producing games physically. The only reason it's happening in SE Asia is no eShop.

Re: Review: Fate/Extella Link - One Of The Best Musou Games On Nintendo Switch
@ALinkttPresent It's not an actual game in the musou series, but the series this game is spun-off from is arguably even more influential.

If DBH wins Artistic Achievement BAFTA is a fraud.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th March (North America)
@MaSSiVeRiCaN The Mystery Dungeon series is pretty damn popular in Japan, but outside of it the only real popular ones are the Pokemon entries.

I'd say Kemco has fallen from grace... but they ported Lagoon to SNES? If anything, this is an improvement.

@puddinggirl "The industry" was Always about milking as much money as possible. The only thing that's changed is how easy modern tech makes it.

Re: Review: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn - A Timeless Classic That Feels Right At Home On 3DS
Epic Yarn was the second-to-last (I think? depends on if Mass Attack came before or after) Kirby game I enjoyed, so I'll be sure to pick this one up.

@Realnoize This game is 21 USD on every other platform (except PSone classics). It's not a Switch thing, this time.

@AlexSora89 Saber, from the Fate series. She's a pick I know will never get in, but I absolutely want her in anyways.

If Saber is announced as Smash DLC tomorrow I'll buy Smash physically, to go along with my digital copy.
