Japanese chart figures are now in for 18th - 24th February, revealing that EA's Anthem has swooped in at number one, keeping New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe in second place for another week.
Mario has been sitting high at the top of the Japanese charts ever since it released, often finding itself at number one before being knocked down by a new release, only to return to the top weeks later. Anthem's 77,938 first-week sales were more than enough to keep Mario down this time, though.
Elsewhere, Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match DX was the Switch's biggest new entry this week, coming in at 13th, and Capcom's Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy managed to sell slightly more copies on Switch than PS4 in its opening week.

Not for long.
Soon, another Switch games will reach number 1 again.
@Anti-Matter
That could be a little longer than soon. I expect super mario maker 2 to be the first. Of course not counting already released nintendo games.
Wow, those AA Trilogy sales are dreadful.
Those Ace Attorney sales are horrible. Watch Capcom throw out a statement like “the Ace Attorney franchise has been put on hold due to low demand”, because the sales of these 15+ year old ports didn’t meet their expectations.
Seriously, how hard is it to remake these games? They could put a new coat on the visuals and add voice acting and the games will sell like hot cakes again.
Surprised that anthem managed to sell more physical copies in Japan than the UK (even knowing they lean on physical more than western markets)
Phoenix Wright finally arrived on TV, for the first time there can be spectators watching you play. This lawyer game has always been a solitary experience until now.
@Yasume Well unless people start buying it...
Did people think Gyakuten Saiban would sell well physically? It's the definition of a download game.
At least it's on HD consoles for the first time ever.
Definitely time for the next big release already. Yoshi step up my boy. Pikmin 4 would have filled this little hole. Oh Olimar, Hope you’re fairing well in that land of forgotten.
What’s with the spike in Vita sales? Ahead of the 3DS? Smash will sell more copies than NSMBU next week - I’m calling it.
This is release it won't maintain once those whom bought it dries up then I'll drop even farther.
If Capcom choose to bring the Phoenix Wright trilogy as only a digital release over here then they won't see a cent from me either just like their other collections that are not Street Fighter.
@Hctiws I take it you didn't own a Wii then.
@Hctiws : It was playable on Wii and on Apple TV at the very least.
The relatively low sales aren't surprising seeing as the games have been released on GBA, DS, 3DS, iOS, Android, Wii, and now Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and (soon) PC.
@misterMike Lolwut? The headline regarding Phoenix Wright is accurate and follows a continuing trend experienced by quite a few multiplatform third-party games. Anthem knocked Mario off the top, that's factually accurate, too. And Switch hardware continues to sell, this week coming in at over 2x as much as all other devices combined.
Why are you so angry?
Wow a shocking week looks like PS4 is starting to dominate the charts!
Those are some dreadful numbers, the trilogy will be gone and forgotten by next week
@Astrolorange This is a physical format chart. And Phoenix Wright was released physically (in Japan only).
@misterMike Just go back to Push Square. You are not a Nintendo fan and you're here to stir trouble.
Anthem sold nearly 2X more digital copies in Japan than in the UK.
That's terrible. It should be the reverse - the game should be selling 2X more in the UK than in Japan.
Again, Bioware is pretty much dead. 2 duds in a row, from both their A and B teams. Dragon Age 4 had better be a 90+ masterwork to get the company back on track.
I am still getting the aa trilogy when it comes to north america next month.
