I need to get back into this game but I recently discovered that my young niece had been talking to my villagers and had inadvertently sent most of them away everytime I let her play! nooooo
This article has it the wrong way round. They should restore Zelda to the original template and make a new IP or use another series to use with the open world/nuts & bolts gameplay instead.
@Grail_Quest Totally agree with your comments on Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Always loved WW but the grunge probably appealed to 18 year old me.
The game did feel like a nightmare and remember getting some genuine anxiety everytime the music switched (and I believe the colour palette changed as well) before the Dahaka showed up to rid me from the timeline haha.
I don't remember much about the Two Thrones. They should do a remastered trilogy set for the Switch that would be freakin' amazing!
I really hope they stick with this catalogue on the next gen because the drip feed release (for many of the same games) since the Wii is getting a tad ridiculous now.
The second hand market is a totally different thing. It's the owner of the IP's decision if they want to release more copies of the game on the market. If Nintendo want to release Mario 64 30 years later to make money that's their business (literally). You don't have the right to flood the market by making illegal copies of the game.
While I'm very sad to see that they are sticking with this model, I will not let it stop me from playing and enjoying the future games. I do feel like they have diluted what made Zelda great though.
I've been playing tLoZ games since I got Link to the Past in the early 90s and BotW did not really feel like Zelda to me. I will receive the sequel in the post today!
Whaaat. How can you honestly objectively say it has all the key hallmarks?
1. No interesting Hyrule world that is actually worth exploring. That is, unless you want to find every Korok seed which really doesn't make up for the lack of interesting content in the world...
2. No dungeons to speak of! Where are the temples, ruins, and interesting places to explore. Replaced with copy and paste shrines with nothing unique or memorable in them.
3. Following on from dungeons. No find the map, compass and key gameplay either obviously. This was another massive departure from a series tradition.
4. Bosses. There are no unique bosses. Everything, including the general mobs, is just a variation of another creature: Windblight Ganon, Waterblight Ganon, Blue Bokoblin, Black Bokoblin, Silver Bokoblin, you get the idea!
5. Items. Where are the traditional items that were often used to access and explore dungeons and to reach parts of the map you couldn't before? The slate powers are really generic.
6. Lack of any real story. There is literally no engrossing story in BoTW. Just some flashbacks voiced by some pretty underwhelming voice acting IMO.
5. Jingles. Where are the traditional sounds and music that previous Zeldas had? Replaced with bland (but nicely atmospheric TBF) music.
Zelda games had many of these elements for 20 years. Genshin replicated this game so well not because it was Zelda but because it was easy to copy the big pretty superficial world.

Re: Random: Feeling Blue? This 91-Year-Old Zelda Fan Will Make Your Day
Very heartwarming and, as someone who is turning 40 very soon, it's a nice thought that I could still be playing Zelda in 50 years!

@AstroTheGamosian
Twilight Princess is sooo underrated it hurts! The battles with Zelda and his Ganon form were brilliant and the final showdown is pretty darn epic.
