I didn't know all tablets also came with controllers attached to them. Man I must have missed that. And the term casual can refer to many different types of gamers, not just those who play mobile games. Maybe calling you a casual is giving you too much credit. And why in the world would I want to watch someone else play a video game? That doesn't make any sense. If I want to get good at a game, I'll just play the game. I know that seems outlandish to you, but then again it would to most casuals.

Nice assumption, but wrong again. I have plenty of access to non-nintendo consoles and I've played quite a few games on them. My brother has an xbone, and my cousins have both a ps3 and ps4 so I'm not just refusing to believe other consoles exist. I've played the games and they just don't do anything for me. But I guess I should be like you and just follow the crowd, right? You know, the whole "everybody else is doing it" mentality?

I was gonna make a similar comment in that this boss looks like something you'd see in a metroid game. I'm impressed with how it looks, yet it doesn't look out of place in this game.

That's one way of looking at it. Another is I simply don't let society dictate what I should and shouldn't like. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's for everybody. You'd do well to heed those words.

Another thing. Why did you put nintendo in quotation marks? I know you did it to copy my post, but you completely failed in that regard. The sneer quotation marks, as they're sometimes called, are used to note something as being non-standard, ironic, or otherwise used in a special sense. Basically, with your use of the marks you're implying that "nintendo" fanboys aren't a real thing. So....I guess thanks for the compliment?

Triggered? Nice insults though. But your analogy doesn't hold up under scrutiny. What is this "stomping simulator" that you speak of? At least I referenced an actual game, followed by an alternative game that in my opinion is better. And regarding my age, if I was 12yrs old, how would that make you feel knowing I so easily got under your skin?

Why would I spend money on a driving simulator when I can just drive my car in real life? These so called "AAA" games are making gaming so mundane and boring. Mario kart is much more enjoyable.

That's a waste of time. I don't get paid to analyze current video game trends. Instead I buy the console that has all my favorite games coming out for it and then I go home and play them. That's really all there is to it. Like I've said before, playing video games is a hobby, nothing more. One that costs me money, not makes me money.

Well if they're a fan of the genre then they'll buy the console the game comes on. I wouldn't buy a ps4 expecting to play monster hunter, I'd buy a 3ds.

It's really a non-issue. Fans of nintendo already have a better racer coming out on the switch in the form of Mario kart deluxe and if they're also fans of driving sim racing games then they'll get it for the ps4. Problem solved.

Nope. They said in the presentation that it allows screen grabs that can be shared on social sites and that video capturing will be possible in a later update.

I'm pretty sure everyone would adapt. It's a video game console not a space shuttle. All the bells and whistles aren't necessary all the time. If it plays games then it's doing it's job just fine. Everything else is a luxury. And as far as the whole someone stealing your devices argument, all consumers assume the risk of that happening if they choose to take their belongings outdoors.

Of gosh, the switch won't have a Web browser? Whatever will I do? I guess I'll have to user my phone, or tablet, or other tablet, or my wife's phone, or my computer, or my laptop. What a bummer. Pre order canceled.

I never played the 1st splatoon but I'll probably pick this one up. I'm trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to gaming. I know I'm getting zelda and Mario but since I have a family to take care of and not what you'd call "disposable income" I have to be selective about how I spend money on this hobby of mine. But splatoon 2 looks like it'll be a fun online game.

All this talk of specs has really lead people away from the point of video games. Now if a console doesn't have all the "HD's" and "4K's" and "1080p's" and "60fps" shoved into it then it's just a waste of time. But if that's the case, then why are we seeing such a renaissance in 8/16 bit gaming? The power race will continue to raise the price on consoles and games while producing diminishing returns from said power. If this keeps up we could be looking at another video game industry crash.

I can respect that. I actually don't have any intentions of taking the switch on the go with me either but I probably will buy an extra dock and set it up at my in-law's house since I take my wife over there a lot and I can game while she speaks Spanish so fast with her mom speedy Gonzalez couldn't even keep up.

I had lots of fun with my wii u and if I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now I'd still buy it day one. I can't tell you how many hours I sunk into the games I had for it, and at the end of the day isn't that all that matters? But you know, you can keep calling us "fanboys" if that makes you feel better.

But you said as a home console it's dead but as a portable, that's another story. It can't be dead as 1 and not the other because any game made for it can be played both ways. In summary, it can't both fail and succeed because both play styles are offered, not just one over the other.

It still sells good as a home console game. They're one in the same. There must be some straws around you cause you are doing a lot of grasping with that "statement".

I'm definitely getting the archer link amiibo and cloud. Those are my 2 most anticipated right now. And I'd dare anyone to try and talk me out of it.

So I guess breath of the wild and Mario odyssey look bad now that we know the specs? Man, I got my hopes up for nothing. What will I tell little Johnny who's been saving his money up specifically for the switch? He'll be heartbroken.

I agree with NintySnesMan, it will follow the 1st iteration and be a huge success.
