Not cool to rip off other people's stuff without permission, illegally. Period. Doesn't matter whether it's free or not. Doesn't matter whether Nintendo has any plans for carrying on the series or not.
There are copyright and trademark laws for a reason.
@Palutena I agree. It felt a bit slapdash. The copy that was written was sub-par, and not helped by the choice of voice actor (though at least he wasn't overdramatic). It all felt very by-the-numbers, like it was approved by a committee who don't really get the product or its market. Who else could get excited by that dreary, hackneyed "It's time to fight." tagline?
@TeeJay @SamirMalik Well Nintendolife have already had Sakurai confirm that each character has 8 different colour costumes. Hard to see how that can be done for both Pit and Dark/Black Pit given their identical models. We don't know the context of the screenshots, it may be a story-mode thing. Certainly the bow-and-arrow character symbol is typical Pit. I'm calling that it's just a skin! I'm at that awkward time in my 30's where no one knows what to get me for birthdays or Xmas. Now they'll know
I love Yoshi and (suited) Samus, so they'll be top of my list. It'd be awesome if they could be activated on the gamepad without taking them out of their packaging. That would give me more incentive to collect them.
Does look very Legend of Grimrock-y, especially with a rune spell system. It seems to be selling itself as more-or-less a portable Grimrock, which is fair enough.
Great that it seems to be an actual first-person experience - as opposed to the party of adventurers from a first-person perspective you usually get. Makes sense for slimming down the interface, and should provide a more personal experience.
Having big issues with its art style and assets though. Everything's so bland and devoid of character on the top screen. (Am saying this as someone who's enjoyed the genre since Eye of the Beholder.)
If there's a demo, I'll try it. But the game's just too ugly to excite me at the moment.
If Nintendo are sensible about things then this makes sense. DLC purely for skins is fine. It doesn't ruin things for anyone else.
HOWEVER
If any of the vehicle unlocks give advantages that aren't available to regular players then that's not remotely fine.
I'm not sure how I feel about having courses DLC. But on reflection, given the 8 cups in the regular game, 2 cups for £7 sounds about right, especially with the extra skin stuff on top.
I really hope they don't try something like this with SSB though. Huge difference between adding characters in Mario Kart where they all play pretty much the same, and that.
Hang on, you can select from a choice of specials for some moves? Like Pac-Man's down-B and MetaKnight's side-B?! This sounds pretty major (and cool). Do you select it by inputting it in different ways, or is this like a skill loadout? Has this kinda thing been announced for any other character? I'm sure a lot of people would like an alternative to Mario's water cannon from Brawl.
This has suddenly upgraded SSB 3DS from being a possible purchase to tide me over till the wii U version, to a likely must-get. Perhaps especially from the e-shop. Am very close to tipping point.
Samus is one of my favourite video game protagonists precisely because she's an empowered woman. Her games are wonderfully claustrophobic. And she reminds me of Clint Eastwood's man-with-no-name in the Spaghetti Western trilogy. Cheaply tarting her up just diminishes her brand. I say this as a male gamer. Whoever thinks Samus should be in skimpy suits with high heels and big knockers, has no understanding of what makes Samus great. (Anyway we've got Bayonetta for that.)
I bought Mega Man 2 & 3 on the Wii U e-shop last week cos of the promo and the good reviews on here. Really wish I hadn't. I don't mind the difficulty, but in a lot of places the games are UNPLAYABLE due to slowdown. I don't understand how an unplayable buggy mess gets such high marks. An unplayable port is an unplayable port.
@Ralek85 and @TheRealThanos I'm from Europe so we never got the second Baten Kaitos. A remake with the two would be a super easy buy!
Also, reading all the comments and thinking about potential use of the gamepad... Metroid Prime could make great use of the gamepad as a visor. Though I'd prefer a new one from Retro Studios. And Eternal Darkness has great potential with the gamepad. I could just imagine the message that the gamepad is too far away from the Wii U, etcetera.
To the people championing Super Mario Sunshine, I'd say it's probably the least accessible entry point for a (3D) Mario game. There's also no shortage of Mario games you can play on Wii U with better acclaim. So unless they can really nail a great control scheme, it will probably underwhelm.

Just. Wow.
Re: Hyrule Warriors Horses Around with Epona in Master Quest DLC
Is it bad that I always renamed Epona to Gluesoon?

Not for Wii U maybe, but what about the enigmatic, upcoming Nintendo QOL (Quality of Life) platform?! Maybe this is it!

@SamirMalik but Dark Pit sounds like someone who lets their underarm hair grow wild :-/
Re: Impending Japanese Launch Of Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS Brings New Character Reveals
Dark Pit? Really?? Doesn't Pit have a Dark Pit skin? I'll be annoyed if that's actually a character.

Re: Touch Detective Funghi Rhythm Could be Delightfully Weird on 3DS
Ahhh... I'd heard that they've got short, stubby brown mushrooms in Japan. And now it's clear that's not just a phallusy. Errr...
Does look crazy fun though!

Re: Feature: HD Remasters That Would Be Perfect for Wii U
Agree that Gamecube remakes make the most sense.
That in mind, I'd love to see BATEN KAITOS remade. Yes, not owned by Nintendo but it was an exclusive and it was gorgeous, innovative, and epic!
