The PlayStation 5's marquee feature of allowing the player to summon octopii at will by touching the ground has been unveiled. Persona 6 should be hella interesting now

@link3710 Actually I don't think Kraken has ever been depicted as a Persona, only an SMT demon and I think Kraken has also been seen in the DemiKids games as well, but never Persona so actually this would be a first
@JoeDiddley Easily my favorite mainline Persona entry and one of my top 3 MegaTen games of all time. The only one that slightly outclasses it imo is Devil Survivor/Overclocked
It has easily my favorite story and cast of the main entries as well as probably my favorite Meguro OST next to Nocturne

@TheFrenchiestFry wow, I’m excited to try it. And I need to get back to Overclocked one day too. It’s now the only SMT game I started but didn’t come back to finish yet. It was one of the first games I played and I got stuck and frustrated. I think I’d be ok now.
@JoakimZ Soul Hackers is definitely one of the best RPG titles on the 3DS period and Persona Q is one of the more interesting Persona spinoffs imo. I admittedly couldn't get way too into it due to my comparative inexperience with Etrian Odyssey outside the more recent installments, but for those who are into that stuff, it's a good buy, as is Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. Just don't go in expecting a story up to par with the mainline entries. Persona Q is essentially a giant fanservice game, and the novelty comes from seeing the different casts from their respective games interacting with each other or visiting marquee locations from their games.
Persona Q is a lot of fun from an EO perspective (UTTERLY unbalanced, but so were the first two NDS games), but I can see it being disappointing for people who go in expecting a lot of Persona content. I kinda wish the more puzzle-y design of PQ's dungeons would have worked their way into mainline EO.
I've not played Devil Survivor 2 yet, but the first game was very enjoyable for me.
It's rare for me to like strategy games, so it probably helped that this isn't just a strategy game. It's a weird mix of the strategic Fire Emblem grid style combat combined with a round of more traditional Shin Megami combat when engaging an enemy. Plus there's a bit of visual novel mixed in there along with a decent story.
The main complaint for me was difficulty spikes. Some boss demons are a nightmare to defeat.
@crimsontadpoles I personally thought DeSu 2's story was a step back in terms of writing and characterization from DeSu 1. The gameplay being essentially carried over from the first game saves this game hard for me.

This pop-up in my recommendations on Youtube a few years ago. Fan tears were shed from happiness... I was not alone.
Persona Q's story definitely is not amazing, but I did not expect that twist to be so sad.
I not played yet Overclocked or the original DeSu. My first MegaTen game was the original DeSu 2 on DS. After this, I spend many years playing many games on my old PS2, and then in 2016, I pick up a New 3DS XL. So, I have many fond memories with DeSu2. Great game, despite people often trash talk DeSu 2

I actually started playing Overclocked several years ago, probably around 2014. I remember enjoying it, and it feels like I got probably 1/3 into the game when I got sidetracked by some other game and never returned. I would like to play it again someday and actually finish it.
@JoakimZ Overclocked is definitely one of those games I feel I have to dedicate a significant amount of time to complete
It's the same story as whenever I play through mainline Persona to prepare for a new numbered entry or re-release. I just refuse to start new games while playing anything MegaTen related. Especially during my initial playthroughs of Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga and Persona 5 Vanilla

I know Nintendo is probably going to assist in marketing SMT V as Sony has done with Persona 5 but I really hope Atlus gives it the amount of social media attention they always give Persona or Catherine
Lackluster marketing is one of the key reasons why SMT has always been overshadowed by Persona in terms of popularity imo

SMT V looks like it's going to be one of the biggest games Atlus has ever made, and it's their first project to get a simultaneous worldwide release, if I'm not mistaken. They're not going to send it out to die with no fanfare.
I don't get Atlus, often releases a game for only one platform. Like this game, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, exclusive to PS4. Why? I dunno. Why develop a game just to be in one platform wtf

@Alex90 I guess it's because since it's a localized effort they wanted to keep platform parity with Japan
It's why Persona Q2 released in 2018 for the Nintendo 3DS despite the fact the Switch had been out for well over a year at that point and by the time it came to America Joker had also been introduced as a fighter in Smash in addition to P5S being a thing
