Hey, look at that. Another example of "Everyone likes it and I don't".

Oh well. Cant say I didn't see that one coming. Hope you enjoy the game guys. See you for whatever they call the next one

I was totally wrong about Pyras voice though. Before it just didn't fit the character i was seeing visually. But after hearing Mythras voice, which they NAILED (i mean, man what a character) Pyras voice is actually perfect.

I also want to recommend everyone who wants to get the full experience to save and exit the game so you can see the title screen every time you start the game.

It took three games, but Xenoblade has finally hooked me.

@YummyHappyPills God, I detested TP management in XCX. Also annoying how healing was tied to soul voices in the first half of the game, where I had to use skills I didn't necessarily want to trigger just to keep from dying.

XCX is a game full of wild highs and lows for me. Other than the terrible map, resolution issues in handheld mode, and some small annoyances here and there, XC2 is all highs for me.

@YummyHappyPills you’re allowed to not like a game but you’ve mentioned how much you don’t want to play it so many times, you’ve obviously been thinking about the game. 2 hours is a very short time for a long JRPG like this, that is less than 5% of the game. Keep playing for a few more hours then post here again what you think. I started liking XCX 5 hours in

@nikoamii I shouldn't have to sit down and give up 5-10 hours of my life for a game to draw me in. It should do that quickly. The game has presented its gameplay, its world, its mechanics and its structure, and it doesn't mesh with me. Why is that so hard to understand people?

When something just doesn't gel with you AT ALL, you don't play it anymore!

And for reference, I've been thinking about the game because I am thinking about WHY I don't want to play the game anymore. What turned me off from it. How do I come to those conclusions? I think about the damn game!

@YummyHappyPills because obviously you are not a fan if you're not even trying to like it.. at 2 hours in i was still pretty much just engrossed in the beautiful graphics idk wtf you were doing.

@Inertiacreep I went in hyped. I sat down and said to myself, yes, another XC game. This'll be great.

And then I started playing. And it has not grabbed me.

Its opened itself up, showed me how pouches, levelling, quests, so on so forth have worked. It has given me the mechanics, and its just said, this is it, here is what our game is built on

Like pouches. They way it is presented to you. Not a very good mechanic. The limited arts and movement, not very good mechanics. The accessories, again, very limited.

These are the basics of what the game is built upon. It has introduced them, one at a time. I am sure it will be a nice complex mess on top but the mechanics on their own are dull. They are watered down. It is not doing anything for me. And all I see is all these boring mechanics interacting with each other.

Imagine having the best level design thats really complex at the end of the game, but what you do with your mechanics is shallow and not very entertaining. It doesnt matter how good it CAN get, but how good it is.

I give a game as long as it needs for me to start enjoying it. When Fallout 3 came out, it took 10 hours until I truly started enjoying it. If a reviewer only gave a game two hours before giving it a score that would stink. If you only want to give a game two hours then that’s your choice, but I just don’t get how you can go from 1.5 hours loving it, to 2 hours hating it. Seems like an awful waste of money to give up after such a tiny amount of play time.

1.5 hourd in. Been introduced to so much already. I love it.

I think ill prefer the structure and exploration of X more, weirdly, but so far mhmmmmm.

@JaxonH you only need super strength 2 but I think you need nopon wisdom 3. A guid said wisdom 2 but I swear it wanted 3. Or you just need a cumulative of these skills. Two blades with strength 1 will work. If you don't have the wisdom you'll have to wait 30min, but if you don't have the strength you will be blocked from progression.

@Hughesy I loved it as I played it.

But there is the thing. I have had no desire whatsoever to pick it back up. My enthusiasm for the game has gone and thinking back over what I played, what I experienced in that post-launch glow was actually very against my tastes.

Ok, we get it. You don’t like it and it’s ok. But saying you saw all that game offers in 2 hours is a bit arrogant (if that’s the word). So you basically throw money because you refuse to give it a chance. You sound like a child to me.
Anyway, happy reviewing Metroid Prime, bb

@CroRock I'm not saying I saw all the game offers at all. I'm saying the game didn't hook me.

Is that so hard to understand people?

I didn't gravitate towards it, it didn't pull me in, I don't want to pick it up again. You guys gave it more room to breathe. I didn't. I made the choice not to, because what I played didn't interest me at all. If there was something there, then maybe every time I boot my Switch I'd do more than glance at the icon.

I'm not refusing to give it a chance. If there was an aspect of it I enjoyed or I felt a need to pick it up again, I would. But I look at the icon, shrug my shoulders, and play something else.

There are games that you start, don't get interested in, and don't pick up again. That's what happens. Not every game can be a winner for everyone.

And it is my money to throw away, isn't it?

Maybe I didn't give it the time you all gave it before it got good. Maybe I'm also not going to sit and force myself to play a game I see and have no desire to keep playing. Maybe I will one day, but right now, in this time, I see the game, I move on. I have no interest in continuing.

You just said it but ok. Like you said.. it’s your money. I regret many purchases too but this one is one of my one of my favorite games ever and I didn’t even finish chapter 3.

I don't think anybody minds that you don't enjoy the game, but you do continue to come back here and remind everyone of that fact.

So I don't think it's surprising to see people respond, because you're kind of asking for a response when you continually post about not liking it. Just sayin is all.

@YummyHappyPills I can sympathize. That's how I was with Twilight Princess HD. Played for 3 hours, sat it down, never picked it up again. I've heard it gets better later on, but I've had no real desire to trudge through the early hours of the game again.

How do you get Super Strength 2 and Nopon Wisdom 3?

I don't see it in his affinity tree.

I was going to complete all of the side quests in Torigoth before moving on, but that part of the crane sidequest where you have to collect five rare materials from salvaging is a nightmare. I think I'll move on and just zip back here if I ever manage to find five of them.

I (finally!) figured out how Blade Combos work this evening, it's really spiced up the combat! I don't think I'm very far - Kingdom of Uraya.

To be frank I don't have a clue what I'm doing half the time. The map sucks. But I'm enjoying just figuring stuff out. It helps that the story is really quite good so far and I'm not finding it hard to follow.

You get out what you put into games, especially as you get older and more cynical.

@kyleforrester87 The map does suck, but, for some reason, the fast travel map is quite decent. It's odd.
