So I didn’t do it intentionally, but I appear to be back on track again. Found some ripped fish guy called Sidon or something, and now I am hunting down some giant robot elephant fish thing. It is all marked as main quest. Finally got some new gear too, which is cool. Although the combination of cape, hood, blue and silver armour and white slacks is pretty goofy looking.
@Pizzamorg One of the great features of BOTW is the quest log. You can always open it up, see what quests are open, which you've completed. When you hit (+), you get your items: weapons/armor/food. Press the L shoulder button while in there to see your quest log.
The great thing about the quest log is, it give you so much detail, that if you take a long break from the game, the log tells you enough to get you back up to speed. It will say who you talked to, where, what they said, what you need to do; If you select that quest, the game will show a glowing thumbtack on the map to to show where you need to go for that quest.
I never completed Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time because I took a break from the games and ended up lost, not knowing what to do. So, I was really pleased BOTW seems to have solved that issue with a good quest log.
Thanks for the tip. Looking at my quest log, I think I know where I went wrong now. When you talk to Impa about the Divine Beasts, you have the option to probe her for more info or move the conversation along, which is what I chose, as she was giving me a huge info dump and I wanted time to process everything.
I think even though you have a choice, it is an illusion and you have to probe her for more info to move the quest along based on what the log says. I am gonna boot up the game now and see if that works.
Yeah, that did the trick. I went back, spoke to her about the beasts, she gave me some exposition and then marked all of them on my map. I guess that is on me, but couldn’t she have done that without me needing to ask for exposition?
Just bought the game in a sale for $8 and change, and all the DLC for like $16 more. Even if it's best in co-op it seems like a fun, popular game. But I'd be interested playing solo

Oh my gosh- Yoku's Island Express is amazing!!! How did I sleep on this game for so long?!!! This is some legit creativity here.
A pinball-mechanic metroidvania with exploration and power ups? The mechanics are super tight and satisfying. Characters incredibly charming. This game is awesome!
Hey Jay! streamed it a few months ago and sold me on it but I was waiting on a sale. It's $5 right now. So I jumped. I would've bought this full price a long time ago if I'd known how good it was.
Yeah, Yoku's Island Express is a great game, the presentation alone is stunning, let alone the unique gameplay of pinball controls with metroidvania elements. The storytelling is nothing special but pretty fun as well for such a short game.
My only complaints with this game is that due to the scarcity of transportation mechanics, navigation through the world can be very irritating after so many times, because you have to do the same pinball stages again and again. Oh, and that the game is so short, I enjoyed it so much that it left me wanting more...
Captured my first Zord - Mastodon. Not sure how I feel about this entire sequence, I know I often complain about games being too hard or confusing (which probably paints me really poorly) but in a way this may have benefited from being a bit harder and more complex?
Like everything is about reclaiming these four Divine Beasts but it just seemed like somewhat of an anti climax to go from effectively an on rails section, to a couple of puzzles so simple I actually slowed myself down by overthinking them a couple of times and then a boss fight that where the main challenge was fighting with the sometimes awkward controls/camera in hectic situations.
I will say, however, that getting a bonus heart and some sort of self res ability is a very nice reward. Seems like I may have given myself an easier time - in the good way - by heading here first. Now to go back to all the random enemies that just seemed to one shot me and slap them right back.
So Metroid Dread is still in the top 3 on the US eShop over a month after release. Well deserved!!
Also GTA Trilogy is in the top 5!
Surprising. I would have expected GTA to be number one given its ecosystem debut for these games and the nostalgia. Good on Metroid. Haven’t opened mine, but the demo was interesting.

My Hori Switch Pad Pro arrived today. Literally makes the Joy Cons unusable afterwards. Might as well sell them to make some dough
Oh wow, not heard of this before. So is this like a pro controller you can slide onto the Switch, to get the benefits of that even in handheld? Is this an official thing? I might need to pick one of these up.
Also - did I seriously almost get struck by lightning by having a spear on my back during a thunderstorm? I love all the little details in BOTW. Like it does technically still suffer from a lot of the usual open world problems, the map may be a little too big given how much empty space and repeated space there is, by all the little details just make the world feel alive really unlike any open world game I’ve played.
The way items can get swept up by the wind, enemies have to go and pick up their weapons, which you can knock out of their hands and they’ll scramble to find something else, or when you knock an enemy off a horse and they’re chasing the horse around to get back on it. Just all those little details, they aren’t necessary, but I appreciate each one of them.
@Pizzamorg The Split Pad Pro is a large joycon equivalent that only works in handheld mode . I own a pair. The buttons and sticks are quite nice, and it has a decent D-Pad. Also, back paddles that can be programmed, along with a turbo functionality that's quite useful in Animal Crossing.
The big downside is no gyro and no rumble of any kind, which can be problematic in certain games.

No gyro or rumble? That makes it an easy pass for me then, thanks for the warning.
@Pizzamorg If you're looking to keep the benefits of the joycons while playing more comfortable, a grip of some sort would probably be a better investment. Skull and Co. and Satisfye grips seem to be the the most popular ones.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
@Ralizah
What games does the absence of gyro make it a real problem?
Also, a Skull and Co/Satisfye grip doesn't solve the issue of the inferior joysticks on the Joy-con. Those work , but the Pro controller is so much better in that respect.
