@MrAfrika Every Nintendo system since GameCube has been underpowered compared to the Direct competition. This isn’t a new thing.
But whatevs, just play what you want. It’s a free market.

Lol, a brand new user shows up just to provoke people with his Nintendoomed comments and nonsensical claims about the generation of the console even mattering to consumers.

The Switch probably will get an update eventually because Nintendo loves releasing different versions of their tech. But while the sales will likely slow some as PS5 and Xbox Midori Series 9.2 are released, it wont be much. The Switch has an enormous amount of momentum and a stellar and growing library of games. Developers are becoming more open to designing flexible games so they can release them on Switch was well as higher performance machines.

I don't see the Switch selling less than 70-75 million units. And if it does get a good Switch Pro model, probably a lot more. Think about it, it was around 54 million at the start of the year. It might already be pushing 60. Though I doubt it because of the Coronavirus hurting production.

Comparing Switch numbers with PS4 numbers isn't really a fair comparison. The Switch came out 3 years ago, while the PS4 came out a little more than 6 years ago. Of course Switch sale numbers aren't going to be as high with both currently on the market and still selling.

It'd be like saying Sony is doomed for not selling 50 million PS5s at launch.

@Heavyarms55 I wouldn't call 5 games a "library". People play the Switch because of Smash, Zelda and Mario. So Mario Odyssey, Smash, Mario Kart 8, Luigis mansion (not really a system seller), Zelda Breath of the Wild... thats about it. its been 3 years and only a few games will bring people to buy a Nintendo system. Pretty lackluster compared to other consoles in that same timeframe.

@MrAfrika 5 games huh? I guess I just mass hallucinate my 115 game library then. It's obvious you're just a troll - you're spouting the same inaccurate talking points we've all seen a thousand times. You made your account less than a day ago, probably just to annoy people.

The idea that people only play the Switch for the tiny handful of first party titles is demonstrably false and I find it amusing that you didn't even mention Pokemon which sold something like 16 million copies in a matter of weeks. Probably closer to 18 million now with that 16 number being 2 months old at least.

A lot of people choose the Switch for it's main selling point, the ability to play the same games on the go as at home - that's something that appeals to a lot of people.

It's also both amusing and yet annoying when people don't count 3rd party ports as relevant on Switch but praise their presence on other platforms. The Switch has tons of great AA 3rd party games covering a huge expanse of genres. Everything from Sid Meyer's Civilization 6 and Cities Skylines to Several Disgaea games, JRPGs like Octopath Traveller and Xenoblade, Racing games like Grid Autosport, F2P shooters like Fortnite and Paladins, the best selection of indie games outside of Steam, even amazing ports of Doom and Witcher 3. And if you can't see the appeal of that on a system you can play on TV, on the train or in the park, seamlessly, then frankly I just don't believe you.

I play both 1st party and 3rd party games on Switch.
And my collection so far is 39 games in physical, more than 80 titles on my list.

@gcunit Good point. But I'm bored because I'm a teacher with no students because of Coronavirus. Nothing much else to do beside feed trolls. The school is closed but our contract demands we - the staff - still come in to work.

@Heavyarms55 Just because you bought/downloaded 110 other vaporware games doesn't mean the Switch has a "library". I didn't mention Pokemon because its a half-made game that Nintendo and Pokemon fans have been craving for years. Of course it sold alot. Doesn't take away the fact alot of the textures are from the DS and only 400 pokemon are in the game out of almost a 1,000. I would run out and buy Pokemon too if im on my 35th playthrough of Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild.

You know what else plays games on the go? My phone, laptop, and tablet. Battery last longer in those devices too. Better and bigger library of games to play and im not even factoring in emulation yet.

Ports get praised on consoles because they are usually better and remastered on those consoles. Dedicated Nintendo fans are the only fanbase I know that got excited to play a downgraded Skyrim 10 years after release. All those other games you mentioned, the rest of gamerdom played those years ago. YEARS ago. Not only that, you're playing downgraded versions of a game we played years ago. If you find appeal in that, great. I don't.

@Anti-Matter Its not a real console. it was a desperation job from Nintendo to make up for the complete flop the Wii U was. It pains me to tell you guys something you should already know. The Switch was suppose to be the successor to the 3DS, the Wii U flopped, Nintendo panicked, so they made a dock and presented the Switch as a handheld and console in desperation. Thats why the dock really does nothing.

@gcunit Im not a troll. just stating facts. To be honest if Nintendo had a big of a library as you guys claim, wouldn't you be playing the games? Go to the Playstation or Microsoft forums and its barren because everyone is playing something. Just saying.

Anyway. Any word on Outer Worlds since the delay announcement? I know a few of you follow it more than I.

Can we just have a community vote to ban this guy or something? There’s contrary opinions, and then there’s ridiculous claims while trolling.

5 games? I had more than 5 great games within the first few months of the system’s lifespan. Could list 100 top notch, amazing games on my shelf right now, and another 200 very good, solid games.

And this? This is just trolling at its finest. What console war? The imaginary one that 10-year-olds dream up in their minds? Switch is crushing it at 55 million sold in 3 years, in all likelihood will be the best selling console of this generation (or the next, I don’t care how you group it based on technical semantics). This isn’t a 5th grade science fair where they’re competing to see who can make the most powerful console. Anybody can make a powerful console. And all consoles are under powered anyways. I’ve got a PC that crushes the Xbox Series X and demolishes the PS5, and they’re not even out yet. There is no war and even if there was, it wouldn’t be about power, it would be about success. And even then, even if it was about power, then Switch still wins because it’s the most powerful handheld and hybrid on the market, and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change anytime soon.

Claiming there’s “no games” because 12 people on the internet have discussions in a forum? That’s asinine... There is zero correlation to 12 people on the Internet Who have been members of the site for a decade having a discussion and how many games are on the system. Some people only play games. Some people like to talk about games, and others like to do both. I’ve got a controller in my hand as we speak in between typing.

This guy is a clown. I genuinely wonder sometimes if people who say ridiculous things like this actually believe what they say, by allowing the spite to override their logic, or if they know it’s all hogwash but just can’t help themselves because the spite overrides their self control.

@JaxonH I mean, I ignored them awhile ago, I suggest everyone else just do the same. The entertainment factor wore off pretty quickly considering how terrible they are at trolling. It's not even fun to read.

I’m going to do the same, but my vote still goes to a ban. They have not contributed to any discussion. It is self evident their intention is to troll people in this forum. And if we can all see that clear as day then why is it being tolerated?
