@EvilLucario Might as well just make movies then. Oh wait, this is Square. [Insert "Why not both?" meme]
Yeah you're right, and I do love the narrative of RPGs as much as anyone else but if the gameplay isn't compelling the narrative doesn't matter, and similarly even a gawd-awful narrative can be ignored if the gameplay is fun. I managed to actually see Pulse in FFXIII despite the most horrendous, pointless narrative I've ever seen in a video game. But the battles were genuinely fun
Spirits Within was kind of fun. Advent Children....I really dislike the retconning of 7. Then there was the prequel movie that was bundled with XV Special Edition at launch...I have it but haven't watched it. And bought Royal before I even opened it.
@EvilLucario Spirits Within was good! It is just everybody expected cloud and co rather than the aspect of FF which is most of the stories are not related and set in fantastical worlds (sci fi still fits that). Besides Ming Na Wen is in that...makes it automatically good. (fight me)

It does not show a message saying cloud saves aren't supported like Splatoon 2. It looks identical to every other game that supports it. And given the fact Dead Cells and NBA 2K support backups, despite initial reports to the contrary, I can only conclude that Dark Souls also will support cloud saves.
How did Nintendo let all this bad information circulate without setting the record straight? Their impenetrable wall of no communication kills them sometimes when it's completely unnecessary.

Ooh! Check out the new World of Final Fantasy trailer! See, why can't NintendoLife do articles for stuff like this? That's what you come to a gaming site for. Instead we just get articles that turn into World War III in the comment sections. A little more focus on games would solve the problem, because the only people commenting would be about the actual game
When do games unlock on the Switch (GMT)? I preloaded Little Dragons Cafe, which I expected to unlock at midnight. It didn't. I then woke up this morning, 8 hours later...and it's still not unlocked. When the hell do I get to play the game I paid for?
Is there an easy way to move games from one SD card to another? Mine recently filled up, and I have a second, but I would rather organize them rather than just start using the new one.
Geez that Chibi Lightning is too adorable and badarse for words.

@JaxonH They finally posted the trailer....I guess they got around to it after spending the day telling us how to shed 30lbs in 10 minutes the easy way!
Sadly posting about games other sites are talking about does't boost your Google rankings and NL too often loses interest in being a legitimate news outlet and seeks to become a trending sensation. I think rjejr called it right. They got spooked when PureXBox went down in flames and started monitoring their web rankings and how to manipulate them like hawks. Thomas and Damo skirted too far over the edge at times in the day. Then Dom seemed like he wanted to write anywhere but a Nintendo site. I thought it wasn't going to get worse than Ryan's sensationalism, but now we have Glenn who's dropped all pretense and gone full Buzzfeed. I feel like I get my Nintendo news from a Youtube "influencer" now
@Ryu_Niiyama Final Fantasy is the only series that refuses to actually use fantasy settings anymore even when they know fans like it WoFF reminds me why I love 9.
WoFF always interested me, but I was caught between wanting the portability of the Vita version and the performance of the PS4 version, so I ended up getting neither. Now I don't have to choose!
FFXII: The Zodiac Age is highest priority for me, though. I came so close, so many times, to pulling the trigger on the PS4 version of that.
@NEStalgia I only really stay here because of the forum. Nintendo Everything is way better as a news vehicle these days. Information is cheap and plentiful, though, and a friendly sense of community is a far harder thing to hold on to.

Eh, even the original game wasn't pure fantasy. There were robots/androids, submarines, tech based teleportation, and steampunk style airships.
@subpopz Going back to SD cards it all gets confusing. I just realized my card is a U1 (back in the day of Feb 2017!) and the current models are all U2. That represents a huge difference in sustained write speeds, which may well be the issue with larger downloads, but even the U1 should be a "fast" card.
@PlywoodStick I know you were looking into the SD performances way back in the day. I'm trying to figure out if my UHS1/U1 card is the bottleneck of disastrously slow downloads on Switch (even over wired connection with the offical Hori USB LAN adapter, so we can ignore Switch WiFi issues), or if Switch or the eShop is a bottleneck leading to constant download interruptions and crawling speeds.
FWIW the card is a Samsung Evo Select 128GB which depending on who you listen to is either an Amazon house rebranding of the Evo Plus (not the Evo +) but is otherwise the same card for half the price. Or it's a cheaper part that pretends to be the same part. Who can tell?
Currently looking at 256 (or even 400GB? Nah...too pricey) cards. I'm not sure if you ever figured out if Switch is capable of supporting UHSII/U3, or if UHSI/U3 offers any advantage in sustained throughput on writes (presumably it does...)
I have to think it's the SD card that limits speeds. Downloads are a lot slower then on PC or Xbox 1, even if the file sizes are a fraction of the PC or XB1 game.
