@skywake, It still sucks lol. Plus we sold out here quicker than US, Nintendo screwed Australia again. we can't get a NES Classic for less than $300AUD because of short supply. They keep underestimating how big Australia is and how many games we buy. We even had our own Aus built console until the 84 game crash. All major retail stores are sold out of everything all the time. Except like 1000 copies of Just Dance 2017. dude at EB tried to sell it to me at launch. i just blankly looked at him and walked off.
@JHDK@OorWullie Of course, that sounds too good to be true. These numbers come from Nintendo themselves, so they're talking about shipped, and not sold to customers. That just means that there are a ton of BOTW copies waiting on shelves until the Switch itself will be restocked again.

I find that hard to believe given that I've seen units available in local stores since launch. Consistently. I mean it's definitely selling well, some specific stores are out of stock. For example my local EBGames doesn't have one in stock looking now but there is one 10km away that has it. And good luck finding a decent case for it unless you go online. So it is selling well. But I think saying that it's selling out here quicker than the US is a bit of a stretch. The demand here is high but I think supply is keeping up fairly well. Not the same in the US from what I've read.

Anecdotally in the U.S. on the East Coast (but a bit outside the 95 corridor), I do see Switch consoles in stores every now and then. Gamestops? Nope. No way. But every now and then I'll see one or two in a WalMart or BestBuy or Target. Games are usually pretty low in stock, too. From what I've seen, BotW on Switch is really tough to find. Every store has Just Dance (so we have that in common with you guys lol) and Bomberman, but Isaac, Zelda, even Has-Been Heroes (I know that's only GameStop) are kinda tough to find.
@rallydefault
Looking at the stock checker for the store I usually get my games from they currently have pretty much everything. They don't have the non-grey variations of the JoyCon sets or the JoyCon straps but that's it. My closest EBGames (aka Gamestop) has a Grey Switch and a copy of BotW in stock but they don't have the Neon SKU. When I last went to the shops I saw at least two Switch consoles on the shelf in every shop I went to.
That said, it's not like the shelves in the Switch sections they've setup are overflowing. It's a pretty sorry state compared to the PS4 and XBOne sections. But it's definitely in stock and you could fairly easily walk in and get a copy of Zelda with a Switch no worries. You could probably get a bunch of BotW Amiibo while you're at it if you're willing to check a few stores. It's definitely better here than in the US.

Stock is pretty good here in Canada. I was checking out the PS4 section in an EB Games about an hour away from me, but I looked at the Switch section and they had pretty much everything. Switch consoles, Zelda, Binding of Isaac, Bomberman etc etc.
Also, I don't know how the games section is in my local Wal-Mart lately, but on launch day they had 2 Switches left in stock, along with all the games and a lot of accessories.
Well, rolling into Mario Kart's launch, I hope there are lots of Switches out there. Some people view that as a bad sign, but I say have as many in the wild as possible for people who may want to play some Kart after years and years of not doing so.
On that note: Nintendo, your Mario Kart bundle for Russia only? We've established that you seem to hate money. I don't get it. A bundle like that in your major markets would have been thebomb.com.
@rallydefault The problem is they use those bundles to entice people to buy. Right now in the rest of the world they feel they don't need to do that. Sure it will sell well but they will make more money selling both as stand alone (assuming the bundle would be slightly cheaper). Now if the console starts to struggle with sales you will see more bundles everywhere.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I'm not sure why we keep discussing stock. It seems like some are pointing to the fact that their local store has them in stock or don't have them in stock as proof to back up their argument. The only thing that matters is actual sales numbers which seem to be strong. Whether it will carry on like this is anyone's guess but from a personal level I have really enjoyed time with the console. It's got me back into gaming when to be honest I was getting bored with the current scene. A mate of mine said that games on the Switch are instantly more fun by virtue of them being on the Switch. I think he's got a point.
@BigBadJohn
Why are we talking stock? Well, for me, only because people seem to be interested and want to know. I'm not a retailer, so I'm not going to pretend to know low/high stock as signifying anything. It's just carrying on a discussion; there's no hidden agenda here, at least from me lol
@rallydefault I'm not having a go at anyone specifically just every time Nintendo release a good news story about how well the switch is selling or someone predicts good things for the console someone cries bs sighting the fact the their local shop has loads in stock. It doesn't make any sense.
So, have some recommendations for my fellow Switchers. First, is a new case. Now, I did order all 3 Waterfield cases made of leather, and when they arrive i'll be glad to post some pics and give my opinion on them but in the meantime I just got a new Butterfox case, the updated model... and boy am I impressed.
The first thing I noticed was that it's actually a tad bit smaller than the Sheika case. This concerned me because as it is I could not fit my brand-new tripod into my Sheika case. It hit max capacity. But wouldn't ya know, everything fits in this Butterfox case. I think the zipper pouch helps because you can cram it full to the outermost. It's definitely a tight fit and I don't think I could fit anything more in here if I tried but I've got everything one would need to take with them on the go for light packing.
Switch + Joycons
Games
10,000mAh Portable Battery
USB-C charger
6 foot USB-C to USB-C cable (with right angle port on one end, you'll see why shortly)
Samsung Galaxy Fast Charger (for indefinite hotspot use)
Galaxy USB-A to micro-USB cable
Bose earbuds
Tripod (for tabletop mode).
I also got this tripod for tabletop mode which allows charging. My problem with those plastic plate stands is that they are so big they don't really fit inside a portable case, at least not without hogging half the room. This is the perfect solution, The only problem is Switch sits low enough that the USB-C cable can't fit in underneath. But with a right angle port it does! Check it out.

Yea, I know what you're saying. People are gonna be people - it can be frustrating. There are a lot of people out there who want this thing to fail, and they're going to say anything to make it real (in their reality, at least).
Many also don't seem to understand what "anecdote" means. (And if most internet posters are indeed middle-school aged kids, then I guess that's to be expected lol.)
