My money is on it being connected to Zelda 2 in some way. Maybe it's an alternate universe where Link dies, his blood is used to revive Ganon and the world goes to hell?

Or maybe not. Could also be an alternate timeline from the Wind Waker final boss, where Ganon gets his wish to conquer Hyrule!

I vote adult timeline! I mean, Koroks man. Yeah I know they could technically exist in other timelines but... Koroks, man.

@CM30: Well, if Link is revived by the shiekah 100 years after his demise in Ocarina of Time, there's plenty to delve into.

Heck, they even put a disclaimer in Hyrule Hystoria stating that they know their timeline is inconsistent and wrong, but "to enjoy it for what it is".

Can someone find this? I've never read it but I was saying since the start they just made this stuff up at the time and had never thought about it back when making the games.

I just completely ignore the timeline stuff really. Except when there are direct connections between games that are explicitly mentioned like Ocarina->Majora. Wind Waker->Phantom Hourglass.

I believe the overall message was more along the lines of "as new games get released, the timeline may be revised. " Which makes perfect sense. It's probably right next to the timeline itself, if anyone has the book.

@Nicolai It says the following:

Hyrule Historia wrote:

This chronicle merely collects information that is believed to be true at this time, and there are many obscured and unanswered secrets that still lie within the tale. As the stories and storytellers of Hyrule change, so, too, does its history. Hyrule's history is a continuously woven tapestry of events. Changes that seem inconsequential, disregarded without even a shrug, could evolve at some point to hatch new legends and, perhaps, change this tapestry of history itself.

Yes, that mostly just means "it may change with future games".

It makes sense.

I guess it also makes sense if link is defeated but not killed for good in the downfall timeline. It could explain why was he in that futuristic pod, he was healing.

But we'll see.

There's a rumor that the NX will get announced across the 20th, 21st, and 22nd. If we get more Zelda stealth-dropped on us I will scream. I will scream like Link should cept-he's-too-soft-spoken-in-Breath-of-the-Wild-so-I'll-do-it-for-him.

I'm leaning towards the downfall timeline as well. I can see how the adult timeline could work (because, y'know, Koroks), but isn't it possible that the Kokiri could evolve into the Koroks in a different timeline as well? For example, the Deku Scrubs exist in multiple timelines.

Last post was from an aggregation rag. I've done the research in the interim and these are the sources I've come up with.

Retailers flying to Nintendo Europe:

Director of Bayonetta 2, Yusuke Hashimoto, sending a cryptic tweet about Bayonetta and the 20th

Good catch. The retailer things is still something, though. NDAs aren't nothin'!

@MarcelRguez The Bayo amiibo works on NX. Get hype.

(I was kidding with that last post FYI. I imagine amiibo will be NX-compatible, but I don't know.)

I found birds to the south of the Great Plateau at 7:52 in this video: https://youtu.be/m0Xs1yKHakQ?t=7m50s

Birds as in "Rumor has it... - If you see a flock of birds gathering in the sky, try searching the area beneath them. You might just find something interesting..." birds.

I like how Breath is mapping The Wind Waker's clever ideas onto a world that doesn't suck. It's a pretty great naturalistic lens to view the world through.

Isn't the wolf link amiibo in the game, and new amiibo for the game, confirmation that nx will have amiibo support? It'd be strange if it didn't.

Also, I liked the wind waker world. The islands were a tad too small, but the adventure in it was awesome

Really? I thought that birds signified a safe place to jump to safety in order to shake off your pursuers and avoid conflict.

Something that's been bugging me about the temperature system: it seems like all those interesting mechanics for keeping warm, like carrying a burning torch or eating hot peppers, potentially become redundant as soon as you get hold of some clothes with cold resistance. Unless:

  • Outfits have durability and can "break" like weapons. (Has this been confirmed anywhere? I can't remember it being mentioned in any of the E3 videos).
  • Maybe there are situations, like fighting a boss in a snowy area, where you'll need to swap out the warm clothes for some heavier armour, and have to rely on one of the other methods to stave off hypothermia.

Other than that, I'm wondering what the flipside will be - how will Link have to adapt to hot places? We've already seen desert areas in the trailer, and I'd bet my house there'll be some kind of lava dungeon inside Death Mountain.

I'm guessing any armor that nullifies a weather's effects permanently will be particularly difficult to come by
