@Grumblevolcano Fortunately Xenoblade is much bigger than Zelda, so I hope they can fit everything on one disc without the need of extra patches. I've always had the idea that Nintendo's in-house studios are much better at file compression too.
I still want to know how big that Guardian on Death Mountain is, that's the first thing I'm going to find out once the game comes out.
I third (or fourth, whatever) this. A Guardian that big is surely nothing to sneeze at.
I wish Nintendo would release some plot info soon. I stopped watching demo footage some time ago since it started getting repetitive. I also don't want to spoil TOO much of the environment for myself.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
anyway don't forget that the current NX rumour states same memory as Wii U (32GB) so if true Nintendo haven't learnt their lesson at all on the storage front.
Thank goodness that “digital-only“ rumor was (probably) fake. But hopefully that one is too. If you want to encourage a digital marketplace, don't give us storage that can be 1/4 full with ONE game downloaded.
I thought the 32GB rumour was about the size of the cartridges rather than the onboard storage?
Bear in mind, storage requirements do rely on screen resolution too (smaller screen resolution leads to smaller texture resolution because less detail can be detected). We don't actually know that yet. 32GB is huge for a 3DS or even Vita. Tiny for a PS4.
@Dezzy There was 1 rumour about 32GB carts for games a while ago but the more recent rumour is 32GB built in storage (i.e. exactly the same situation as Wii U premium)
It'd honestly be very hilarious if the all digital rumor was true as well as the 32gb one. Could you imagine the laughing stock they would make themselves?
But if it's actually the carts that are 32GB, I think that'd be pretty decent. Then again, a good chunk of games these days are 40+. But Nintendo tends to make tiny games anyway. Zelda and xenoblade are more outliers than anything.
When I watched the GameXplain analysis, I kept having this nagging feeling that Breath of the Wild's world doesn't seem as big as I once thought. But now I'm starting to realize that Hyrule Castle is gigantic, and seeing it in the distance is only making the world seem small by comparison
@Nicolai Yeah, it seems big, but manageable. That's a good thing. Definitely bigger than any of the previous Zelda games, and probably still bigger than all the 3D games combined.
This is probably the largest open world game released in recent memory (don't tell me about XCX this and that, I don't really care). Now, that means absolutely nothing until you think about the horse and glider. We haven't seen either of them for longer than a few seconds at a time, but what we have seen tells us that they will dramatically increase the accessibility of this world, changing hour-long slogs into but a few minute's jaunt. And on top of that, it's Zelda, so you know it isn't going to be like the awkwardly-animated Dragon Age horses, cumbersome Witcher horses, or levitating Skyrim horses! Or even the Metal Gear horse; it'll be quick, snappy, and possibly even innovative with how the horses AI functions while you're not directly controlling it.
@Meowpheel I called that years ago. Anyone could notice that practically every Zelda game has an unlockable fast travel mode. Different from that, however, is mapping out where the ice, fire, forest, etc temples are before you even play the game.
@Meowpheel If there isn't a fire dungeon in that volcano, just stop listening to me altogether. I realize this comment could come back to bite me, but I also realize that there is No. Way. Aonuma's bois can resist throwing some sick fire temple action into that there volcano.
Moreover, when was the last time there wasn't a fire dungeon? Zelda 1? It's kind of a lock.
