Maybe they'll show some new stuff in those small clips they occasionally release soon. It would a perfect way to drum up some continuous attention on the game, without spoiling/revealing too much.
You know, bokoblins are a humanoid, intelligent and clearly social species...
I wonder. If there where other human-like species with slightly primitive intelligence and societies in the real world, would modern humans be willing to eat them?
Apparently the spiked boko bow says that it is a boko bow upgraded with an animal bone to increase its damage and range. I can't wait to get bows that are basically just snipers. Those'll be so fun to screw around with!
Also, I don't know if you guys saw this before (I hadn't), but someone zoomed in on Death Mountain. Not only is there a boss clinging to it, but it's a giant guardian. The theory of Snowpeak Mountain [ph] having a crater blasted into it by a giant Evangelion laser is looking more and more credible.
@Tsurii Well, people were saying it was Biggoron, and it looked a heck of a lot more like a fog cloud than a goron. 'Cause Biggoron sure as hell isn't that light on his feet. Now that I've seen the zoomed in view, though, I see it in the timelapse footage.
But this all begs the question: What is Death Mountain like if the boss is atop it? Is there still a Fire Temple and, if so, does it just let us out on the volcano slope after we use the big key (or otherwise enter the last room)?
This bodes incredibly well, I'd say, for world bosses. Just give me a helmaroc and maybe ocean / sand worm repeatable miniboss, like the guardians, and I'll be happy in that respect.
@Tsurii Skyrim combat was Skyrim combat, but can you imagine if Link can hear world bosses coming from far away, like characters in Skyrim could? Or even just see minibosses in the distance? Could get real cray real fast!
Anyway, this should give you the best context for how big this guy really is:
It's a full on Shadow of the Colossus boss combined with a scarab from Halo! Climbin' that fool is gonna be cray!
I love the distance you can see! It's very eery seeing a giant thing clinging to the mountain far far off like that. A similar feeling was evoked with that distant "spaceship" we saw at e3
That's pretty cool though, seeing a big boss all the way from your starting area. Just like you could see Valoo all the way at the top of Dragon Roost Island.
Also, am I the only one that thinks the Steppe Talus looks like something out of Pikmin?
@Haru17 Yup, and that's a good thing. I like the idea of a boss looming around in the distance. Something you're working towards, but also knowing that you won't reach that place for a good while. It looks like they're using environmental cues as goal posts in a seemingly open world, it gives you something to focus on at least.
@Octane Fallout 4 did a similar thing with the lights of Diamond City (a ballpark) and the Glowing Sea (a stormy radioactive wasteland) guiding you to those unique locations at night. Good think too, because that game's vistas didn't look great during the day.
