@Sinister Its still a rant regardless. Why does he have to rant at petty things like this when again, it doesn't really affect the overall experience of the Zelda games?
All that talk about cutting grass doing nothing. It does nothing.....in this version! Who know, maybe in the final version there are rupees and other hidden stuff. And those insects, probably collectable. Like in Twilight princess!
Aren't insects collectable in just about every Zelda game? In this game, insects are at least ingredients used for cooking food and making potions, as shown in the streams.
@Tsurii I've been looking at some gameplay footage, and there's a big paradox already. That bridge cannot be the Bridge of Eldin; It crosses a lake, so if it is a bridge from TP, it's the Great Bridge of Hylia. However, the bridge is, surprisingly, still intact, whereas both bridges were partly broken in TP. That would indicate a pre-TP game.
On the other hand, Koroks are a thing, and it is said that they evolved from the Kokiri when Hyrule was flooded, that indicates a post-WW game, and that would mean that the bridge we saw was neither the Bridge of Eldin, nor the Great Bridge of Hylia, but a completely new one. The Temple of Time also resembles the OOT version and the the version that was present in TP. The adult timeline causes the least amount of paradoxes, but who knows? It's probably a new timeline altogether or some other BS like that.
@jariw Only in TP and SS iirc. At least they look like real insects now, just like in SS. I didn't really like the golden insects in TP. They should've made them just like in SS.
@Octane A Link to the Past also has insect collecting. Don't know if that counts, since it's not a 3D Zelda.
@Sinister The stupidity in this case is that Nintendo tries to give reasons for every artistic decision they make in their games. Nintendo should understand the need for better media trained employees by now.
I'm curious whether this game will be using elements from Phantom Hourglass whether the spirit orbs are the main source for defeating the final boss of the game or not cause Phantom Hourglass requires you to get a complete form of any one of the spirit forms.
Nintendo has very talented employees and while they have reasons for their actions, there's no need to say that they are dumb which is what you're implying by saying Nintendo needs to hire better employees.
Also, you realize that many of them have worked on Nintendo for years now right?
@jariw It does count, but you could only catch bees, right? I don't really consider that insect collecting, more like bee collecting! If there were various species of insects it would've been a different story. But yes, to be 100% correct; ALTTP also had insect collecting, albeit in a limited form.
What he does care about are stupid reasons as to why there is no female Link. Instead of just saying "Links is male and will always be male" Nintendo comes up with all kinds of stupid stuff why Link can't be female.
They gave an even more nonsensical justification for why he'd become right-handed. Apparently it being because the buttons you use for the sword are on the right side of the control pad. Well I hate to educate them on their own hardware history, but that's always been true.
They really should just say what they think. I suspect the reason they didn't want to change Link is just that they do see Link as his own character in some sense. In which case it would make no more sense to change him than it would to change Mario, who lets not forget also has very little personality. In all of the games where Link has had a bit of personality, it has been in a fairly similar pattern. Much more than even Zelda has. No 2 Links are as different as the TP Zelda and the WW Zelda, for example.
So now that everyone is claiming that this game is copying third party RPG games like Witcher 3, I wonder what rants you guys will give next for Nintendo's lack of creativity.
I know Nintendo can't please everyone, but pleasing you guys has been really impossible these days.

Okay, almost definitely not, but just theory. This game could be Link's heaven (or paradise). The way it is peaceful, the music, the landscape. Also, the voice at the start "wake up". This could be someone telling him to wake up and see his paradise especially with him being asleep for 100 years. The enemies in the game could be there because he has spent he whole life fighting them. He obviously enjoys it because why else would he continue to do it and if it is something he really enjoys, it might be in his paradise.
With the crashing waterfall of information surrounding the announcement of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I've put together a fully comprehensive piece/ article which compiles everything thats been shown so far, in an easy to read and understand way. Checking it out will save fans ALOT of time sifting through videos, as I've done all the leg work.
Im a brand new writer, and I work full time, and have a wife and two kids, so im very proud of this project.
If you get time I'd really appreciate input, feedback, and advice for improvement.
Thanks!

@jump@Octane Ok, I think I need to rephrase that statement.
Now everyone claims that Nintendo is copying western rpgs that come from western third parties.
And then people will rant that Nintendo still ain't doing something different which will then eventually come from you guys as well as how Nintendo is recently copying concepts from the western culture and not using their own culture as their own inspiration or whatever.
I mean heck, even the Nintendolife writers are claiming that the idea is loosely based on modern third party rpg games like witcher 3.
I bet that this game won't please the dedicated fans because well...fans will never be happy because they follow the Zelda cycle which is kinda like the Sonic cycle.
It would be cool if it was set in the Sacred Realm before it was sealed. Perhaps the whole changing people to reflect their hearts happened after the Realm was sealed as a precaution to protect the Triforce? The Sacred Realm does reflect the normal world... Or that it is set within the Era of Decline perhaps either before Zelda 1 or after Zelda 2?

Are they? Zelda did open world in the very first game. Very early open world example I should add. Open world games are just simple evolutions of games. If Zelda is being blamed for copying then every open world game ever has copied Elite and GTA not RPG's. No one cares though.
EDIT: I should also mention Porsche copied horse-carts by having 4 wheels in its car design. Conclusion: Saying something copied something could go on forever.
Well they're copying western RPGs in terms of the open world. Pretty much every big game since Skyrim has been legally obliged to do so, it would seem.
Not sure what else they're copying though,
I'm also not sure which part was supposed to be their unique approach to open worlds.
