@Kazuo Honestly...does it really matter if there's a timeline for this one? We don't even know the story and from the looks of it, it looks like a re imagining of the original game.
@SeaSalty: I believe Bill Trinen said, during the Wolf Link amiibo segment, that there won't be a sidekick. He said that Wolf Link is the closest thing you'll get to a side-kick this iteration.
@Socar There is probably some type of limit in the bag, even for food. But that limit seems to be pretty high. It seems that there are separate limits depending on what resources Link is carrying (there are 7 categories of resources).
Furthermore, you can increase the "heart value" of the found food by cooking it. For example: Raw meat gives 1 heart. Meat cooked by only throwing it directly on the fire gives 1.5 hearts. Meat cooked in a pan gives 2 hearts.
Seems like kind of a continuity annoyance if you can just have Wolf Link literally fighting alongside you. But oh well, he looks very pretty in that art style.
@Tsurii I'm not sure when I heard it, but I thought I heard something about link eventually taking damage from going too long without food. I'll try to see if I can find it.
EDIT: Darn, there's so much footage, and different videos on YouTube, it would be impossible to sift them all. Oh well, maybe I'm wrong. Someone somewhere could have just been assuming.
@NewAdvent I've just been rewatching the trailers, I'd just hit upon the same idea, and then I saw you'd already mentioned it. Great minds, and all that? XD
Koroks firmly place it somewhere along the Adult timeline (Skyward Sword to Spirit Tracks), but the whole thing reeks of the same emptiness of the Ruined Timeline (Skyward Sword to Zelda 2) and has numerous mentions of the Child Timeline (Skyward Sword to Twilight Princess). This would either put it somewhere before the split, possibly in the aftermath of Skyward Sword, as that part of the timeline is vague, or after a reunification.
So yeah. Personally, I think this is flung faaaar beyond anything else we've seen, timeline wise. Skyward Sword was the beginning, now this is the end. I think the three timelines have re-merged, and that's something to do with the villages. (Perhaps recreations of villages past?)
In my head, Hyrule Warriors (and the Legends expansion), has always been vaguely canon, but even if it's not, it's proof that Nintendo aren't afraid to play with multiple timelines a bit.
Ultimately, it doesn't matter where it may find itself on the timeline, but I just thought it might help us get an idea of the story.
Have we talked on here yet about how the final boss can be tackled immediately? It's an amazing concept, from my perspective.
One of my favorite things about Majora's Mask is how all of the drama was kept hidden in the sidequests, where it's not forced upon you. Such a different dynamic is felt when you discover someone's problems and help them, as opposed to those problems being forced on you whether you like it or not. Since then, I've always enjoyed when story details are in the background, or used as a reward for discovering new things.
It's incredible that everything in this game is optional. Nothing in the game has to be done in order to beat it, so its truly all up to you to discover the entire game for yourself. And it takes the removal of invisible barriers to a whole new level, since there's nothing stopping you from acting stupid and taking Ganon on totally unarmed and defenseless if you really wanted to.
Even though I would never try to beat the game so early, I couldn't be more excited about any other feature of this game. Even though its all psychological, it really makes a difference for me.
Does anyone else share this feeling with me?
P.S. You guys probably will tell me that this concept isn't new, but I wouldn't care regardless. This is Zelda. At the very least, the Legend of Zelda series is inherently different from a game like Skyrim, because imo, beating the main game has more importance. And, I repeat, this is Zelda.
I guess it depends on how hard Nintendo makes the game. The current monsters in the game seem pretty easy, but to be fair it is the first area of the game.
So if we can fight and beat the boss from the start is that saying we won't need any special weapons to do so?? I find it hard to believe we won't need something other then just a sword to beat it.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
@Nicolai actually, Hyrule Warriors would fit rather nicely in the Child Timeline.
Cia brings places characters from across time and space, but the only games referenced and summoned in the original story are Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. Even in her stalker shrine of a castle.
Even in Legends, the characters and places from the Wind Waker are specifically said to be "from another dimension".
