"I hope that the chests dungeons still have the "opening chest cutscene"."
Yeah, I miss that too. Wouldn't count on it though.
Oh, you can also freeze things in place. Like cogs. That's another rumor that came true. So I bet speeding-up time is also in it. Zelda also goes a bit Prince of Persia, it seems.
Update: The description of the Opal says you can trade them for rupees, so there are rupees in the game. I guess in towns you can use those rupees and materials to upgrade stuff. Probably to the degree that they won't break anymore, Skyward sword-style.
Okay, the golem is a boss (or mini-boss). So yes, there are bosses. And the guardians, of course.
As for the people who think the old man is the King of red lions, that may be true. If so, the king has somehow survived!
I wanna know what the deal with the villages and towns is tho..like, will we see them being built up from the ground throughout the course of the game or did they simply "remove" them from the demo so that no one would accidentally come across important story bits?
Yup, that's exactly what they stated they were doing during the demo.
Have I understood it right and you can't cut grass in this game, ZELDA IS RUINED FOREVER!!!
Cutting grass is still a thing you just don't get hearts and rupees. Hearts are not in the game and instead of hearts you heal yourself with food. And rupees do exist but you don't just find them around the place instead you have to sell items.

Including the decision to announce Wind Waker HD after talking about this game for the first time. For those who don't remember, the January 2013 Wii U Direct talked about Aonuma's aims for the new Zelda game of which afterwards he introduced Wind Waker HD.
I love seeing everyone (especially Haru, lol) get so excited over this game! I cant believe how amazing the game looks and plays. It has skyrocketed to the top of my most awaited list!
Though I really hoped the game would be fully voiced, they teased me with the trailer. It would just make the world even more immersive!
Plus Wolf Link. And Shirtless Link = Game of the year 2017 CONFIRMED!
Yeah, those 2 pictures next to each other may have revealed it. But I guess its just Spectacle rock, wich you also find in the Windwaker.
As for the voice-acting: As some people said before, only the main-cast may have a voice (minus Link) and only during critical moments. But I don't think there will be many cutscenes. Gamexplain even says that you can go to the endboss right from the start. But I guess you get heavily beaten that way. You just don't have enough power at that stage. Personally, when Aonuma talks about a rich story, he means the enviroments (and maybe lore) may tell the story. A bit of a Metroid Prime approach. Take the Temple of time. Something terrible happened there, but what exactly may be up to anyone's interpretation!
I am still surprised by the massive scope! I never thought modern Nintendo would have the guts to do this. I can only imagine Miyamoto crying in a corner. Not only is this the exact opposite of Skyward sword (lineair, hand-holding heaven), but it totally goes against his (archaic) principles!
As is said before: Zelda meets Shadow of the colossus (and some other games) meets studio Ghibli. Especially that old man with the stick, so studio Ghibli/anime. It still looks highly japanese to me (luckily), but with western gameplay-ideas!
One last thing about the story: Maybe its just a retelling of the first Zelda, but as it was first intended. Like, Zelda was meant to be sci-fi. The Triforce pieces where meant to be chips.
I still can't get my head around it: A tablet-like device that you can update to get all kinds of functions (items), but in a medieval game? Crazy, but intriguing! Personally it surprised me that nobody got ballistic about this, seeing as how the internet works.

When did they say that Rupees can be gotten? I've not heard of them mentioning even one time.
See, this bothers me a bit. Why is it that only getting food restores health? From the looks of it, enemies don't give you anything besides weapons and some other stuff like horns.
And that's really the problem here. What's the point of visiting towns when really, the outside is better for you? Are shrines the only sidequests you do in this game?
Then there's the problem of how the newer Zelda games will be like from this point on. If this game fails, then the series will become dormant. If this does well, then we will miss some mechanics in previous Zelda games that will probably be better than what this one or the newer ones do.
Even Metroid doesn't have this issue. I'm a bit skeptical here when I shouldn't yes I agree, but in this case, the whole game itself is a change to the point that....it makes me wonder if this will feel like Zelda.
Okay, I got home, went to bed and I finally caught up with all the Zelda stuff. Actually no, I still haven't, only watched the trailer and the first segment with Aonuma. Gonna watch more later today, but I'm impressed. It exceeds my expectations; I think I trust the Zelda team to deliver one of the best Zelda experiences.
From what I've seen so far; I'm not too keen on the stamina meter, as I disliked that mechanic in Skyward Sword, so I hope there's a way to improve you stamina. Other than that, I like the survival mechanics. It's what I'm looking forward to in Little Devil Inside, and it's one of the reason why I like the gameplay of The Last of Us so much. It'll definitely take a while to get used to all the new futuristic stuff, but I think it will grow on me. Oh, and yes, those cute little Koroks are back as well!
It's definitely a mix of the original Zelda and Wind Waker. The way you could pick up enemies items in Wind Waker and use those has been greatly expanded in this game. The only problem I could see is that the survival aspect gets too much in the way of exploration. However, from what I've seen, cooking is just a way to restore health; If you play carefully, you won't need to focus too much on food gathering and cooking. Cooking seems like a way to just upgrade food as well, so it's not even mandatory. If they can find that fine balance of survival and exploration, then I'm sure I have no complaints on that part.
Yeah, those 2 pictures next to each other may have revealed it. But I guess its just Spectacle rock, wich you also find in the Windwaker.
They actually made a point of comparing the two scenes in the stream. With Miyamoto sitting there listening to them talk about it. Which is where I got it from so...

So what if enemies "only" give you weapons and various other things. In every other Zelda game except Skyward Sword they only gave you hearts and maybe a stick. Skyward Sword you got some items to craft better weapons. Now killing enemies also gives you whatever stuff they had on them. I don't see how this is a "problem".
As for going into towns again I don't see your point. In every other Zelda game towns have been just places you pass through. Places you go to maybe trash a house looking for rupees and progress the story a bit. But that's it. The fact that you can now sell items? Surely that gives me more reason to go into the towns not less. Especially if the weapon crafting elements from Skyward Sword return.

@Tsurii And why not? You guys are already complaining that we still haven't gotten a dedicated Metroid game and its all because other M didn't do well. Other M had great graphics and solid gameplay but horrible story. If this game ends up like Other M where no matter how beautiful the visuals are, no matter how great the music and no matter how non linear it is, the story completely ruins the entire experience, then yeah. Zelda will stay dormant.
Also, I'm sick of how people claim it to be like a western game. This is a Japanese game. It just looks similar to Xenoblade only more simplified than Xenoblade (actually, I have yet to get into the series so I'm assuming Xenoblade is a bit complex). There's no way that this game can be similar to games like Witcher 3 or Skyrim. It just isn't and it shouldn't because then otherwise, you guys will now rant that Nintendo ought to use western culture for the Zelda games and not having anything western means its not the modern Zelda game.
@skywake That's a problem because now, how do you get more pouches if you want to hold more items? We don't know how many items you're restricted to hold this time around so if its very less and if that is all you can hold, then obviously that's going to be a problem.
Actually, there's a couple of things that you can only do in towns that you can't do elsewhere. Like getting certain items like better equipment or getting Milk as they never showed any cows in the field and so without cows in the field, how can you get milk? For crying out loud, it can be used twice!
There's my favorite Zelda weapon, the Bombchu. Well if that's gone in favor of the magnesiser, then part of the Zelda charm is gone. Why? Cause this one is better than Bombchu where you can control where you want your bombs to be thrown instead of setting the path where the bomb should explode.
Keep in mind that buying weapons is only possible if you get rupees. Why oh why can I only get rupees by only selling equipment? Its very likely that the weapons and other stuff I find outside aren't going to give me good pay so I have to grind twice the amount to get the cash. Why can't we have enemies give some money here? Where's the harm in that?
@Octane Cooking is also a way to make potions (if you know the recipe). That's a way to improve stamina, health, speed, etc.
@Haru17 That fire rod segment was really cool. I like the physics of the ball, and when Link climbed higher up on the mountain, you could still see the burning traces from the fire rod.
See, this bothers me a bit. Why is it that only getting food restores health? From the looks of it, enemies don't give you anything besides weapons and some other stuff like horns.
What bothers me is that you aren't paying attention. Most major enemy places have food, such as a big steak above the fire. The horn parts can be used for cooking.
And that's really the problem here. What's the point of visiting towns when really, the outside is better for you? Are shrines the only sidequests you do in this game?
There is no point visiting towns at all. Shrines are the only sidequests. There are only 6 shrines and all have be displayed at E3. The game is 1.5 h long maximum.
@jariw Ah I see, that's good to know. Are the improvement just temporary or permanent? I haven't watched all the footage yet, so I'm probably still missing some info.
