My jaw fell through the floor when I saw this game. The size and scope of this game is bigger than I could've imagined, no wonder they delayed it for 2 years and thought it could anchor their presentation by itself.
The game looks rather boring to me so far. But i dislike open world games and think they are boring anyway so this is not a surprise. I am not the target audience for this game.
Will rather pick up OoT 3D next week once it gets cheaper.
I'm wondering if I just don't like Zelda games. I own Twilight Princess and never finished it on the Wii. Bought the Wii-U version and lost interest an hour or so in. I just felt so bored running around looking for a fishing rod.
I also own Skyward Sword, and Windwaker HD, yet unopened.
So many people like this, which is why I question myself. I love Mario and FPS games, but I dunno what to think of Zelda.
If you didn't even get the fishing rod then I'd say your problem is patience. Especially with all these open world games, the cycle is build up --> --> --> payoff.
Nintendo have won E3 with just this game. It's on a scale I've never seen before. Competition, you can go home now. You lost!
Lol, did you even see Sony's presser? Either way, you're a fanboi of the highest order. It's very reasonable to say that Zelda is game of the show, but other companies brought a lot more games to the show.
I dont really care about the timeline all that much, but an interesting thought that this takes place after Wind Waker. The world is breathtaking and I can't wait explore and find all kinds of hidden secrets and history.
You know, after taking in several hours of Breath of the Wind footage, other Zelda games just seem kind of... insignificant right now. I tried playing Twilight Princess earlier and just found myself thinking about the vast and sweeping landscapes I had just witnessed. I'm sure this feeling will go away, but I am hugely impressed with what I have seen of this game so far.
Next year is going to be an amazing one on the video game front.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
It's super cool that burning fields create updrafts that can carry you up on the glider (deku leaf forever). And that glider to shieldboard to gilder sequence? Sick.
@Haru17 Have to agree on Sony's conference. Breath of the Wind is the best game I saw at E3, but Sony is unleashing an armada of amazing looking games on us.

Sony nailed the proper way to effectively present at E3 imo. Some people may argue that they enjoy hearing the developers talk and explain things one on one, but I find it boring and unnecessary at that moment.
@-Red- Agreed. They let the games talk for themselves. I don't mind minor intervals where developers explain things that may not be readily apparent, but that hour of people just babbling about Pokemon S&M was awful.
So what do they plan on showing tomorrow? Will it just be a repeat of today?
Edit: Also apparently someone's trying to successfully hack the Demo for Zelda. They say they'll be done tomorrow if everything goes right. So we'll see how that turns out.
So, now that we've all geeked out, let me criticize the game for a bit.
There was voice acting in the trailer, but Old Man senior / junior didn't actually speak. What are they playing at? Either they are withholding the voice acted story reveal for later, which is bad because it will create another hill of fanboys to climb, or they're not voice acting NPCs, which is bad because in 2017 they'll be outcompeted by just about everyone. Even indie games have voice acting -_-
On a more physical level, the towers, shrines, and ruined guardians feel copy-pasted. There's too many of them for them to all have the same respective models. They should at least vary it up a little bit with the shrines.
Yeah, that's actually true. The Shrines did feel out of place, by how they looked all clean and shimmery in random, dirty or ruined environments. It was also a very ugh moment when the Woodsman had no voice acting right after having a nice voice guide you out of the chamber.
The Treehouse people were also very boring. The only good one was Chicko (I think that's her name).
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
