@Meowpheel Lol, maybe some strong winds pushed a boulder into a hole.
I did find that. It was very cool. It seems that the royal family has their own little escape route. But it mostly resulted in a nice present, a Great Flameblade. I didn't find any non-cooking books worth reading.
@Nicolaison I was thinking the same thing yesterday, that it's pretty amazing I haven't come across any glitches yet but then something happened that took me out the game a bit, although I'm not sure it can be classed as a glitch.I started fighting a Hinox, somewhere near the Highland Stables,I hacked at his ankles as he slept and when he stood up I ran over to freeze a big plate with stasis and hopefully whack him with it.When I turned round he'd disappeared completely,I wasn't even that far away from where he was.I walked back a few steps closer to his resting place and he popped back in again but was back sleeping again.I've fought Hinox before and been a much greater distance away without them disappearing.
@Nicolaison The thing you're looking for isn't in the Library itself, but in a concealed room adjacent to it. It contains what I thought was one of the most interesting journals in the game. You might have already found it, but... it doesn't sound like it.
@OorWullie That's a shame. There's been quite a few times when I wished the game would remember more things. Once I tried to take a bokoblin camp and wanted free melee spots so that I could sneak in and take their weapons to use against them (a common strategy of mine), so I dropped a few on the ground pretty near by, but not so nearby that they would try to run and grab them. Needless to say they were gone when I got back. They weren't my best weapons, but there were a few I cared about, like a flame rod and a boomerang.
I've used a certain exploit constantly, where you use the whistle button to run whilst regaining stamina. But I would call it an exploit rather than a glitch, and I definitely didn't find it myself. And it doesn't ruin the experience by any means.
@Maxz, ooo, I definitely didn't come across any reading material from moving the bookcases! I've never been more excited to go back to the library ;P
This game basically just has spells like Din's Fire mapped to buttons that already serve several other purposes, half of them running on a timer before activation (not exactly a snap), and set to arbitrary cooldowns instead of managed by a resource like magic.
All because they wanted only one item button and a short quick select bar inferior to the item wheel from past games, and plus amiibo.

Honestly, I can't complain. Daruk's Protection is kinda annoying, but otherwise, I find the divine powers intuitive to use. And while I haven't used the quick-select buttons all game, I've been itching to give them a chance. It'll speed things up once I get the hang of it.
@Undead_terror, I'm confused. I think I'm missing some context.
They're just so clumsy is the problem. You can't use wrath or protection to stun a boss instantly or block a grievously damaging attack at the last second because the first requires a charge where smaller monsters like the randomly spawning stals will hit you and interrupt your animation. Meanwhile, protection goes off every time you Z-target, recenter the camera, or raise your shield, wasting itself on multiple tiny keese attacks. They could have had the shield recharge over time after it becomes cracked or only block enemy attacks over a certain number of hearts in damage before armor.
And that's not even addressing how wrath makes most boss fights easier than any in the series.
@Meowpheel Yeah, I've turned Daruk and Urbosa off until I feel I need them. Mipha stays, because if you used it, then you can be pretty sure you needed it, and Rivali is easy enough to activate only when you want to. Although I still keep forgetting I have it.
I try to use all of them as little as possible though, as they're pretty OP. It's a similar approach to the one I took with the heart/stamina vessel choice. I only went for a heart container if I thought the game was actually getting tough and wanted to ease things up a bit. This meant opting for a few hearts at the beginning (OKHOs are pretty unavoidable with the initial 3), but after I was 'comfortable', I just went for stamina after stamina, meaning I maxed out all three wheels way before I had the equivalent number of hearts. It seemed a more sensible approach than stuffing Link full of heart containers, turning him into a tank, and then going "man this game is way too easy eugh".
Speaking of OP, I noticed a couple of things today. One of which is that shooting Shock Arrows from x5 Lynel bow into a metal crate or a body of water results in a pretty lethal quintuple orb of high-voltage death (the shocks seem to stack). The other is that you can attach loads of other inventory items to Octo Balloons (rather than just environmental ones), so I've had a fun time luring Lizalfos into said dangerous areas by suspending a fish on a balloon and wafting it over, and then launching volley of Shock Arrows into a crate to finish it off. You can move the crate to the enemies with Magnesis, but you have to be a lot closer, and the enemies always notice and come after your. Long range fish-wafting is a bit more fiddly, but I lot stealthier.
I mean, it's a pretty luxuriant way of taking things out, given that you're running through Shock Arrows and x5 Lynel Bows just to take out common prey (as well as fish and balloons), but I've got enough resources that I think it's safe to start using them for entertainingly convoluted torture methods.
Hey, I'm having an issue if anyone could help me. According to the controller instructions I need to press on the left joy stick to crouch down (so a shrine will appear) but when I press on the left joy stick nothing happens. I either press straight down and nothing happens at all or I'm slightly off and Link starts walking...

@Meowpheel, I did, but thanks anyway! @Undead_terror, Oh, nice! @Haru17, I wholely agree on Daruk's Protection, but I like Urbosa's Wrath. I don't use it too often on account of the wait period, so I don't waste it on bosses I know I can kill, and it's gotten me out of a jam twice in recent memory. Just an hour ago, I was surrounded by 7 (seven!) horseback bokoblin archers, and I couldn't do a thing without getting shot and stunned every two seconds. A couple bomb arrows scattered them, but it was an inefficient use of my bomb arrows. Urbosa's Fury was the only thing I could think of to do at the time.
They are all OP in most situations, though. I'm really glad you can turn them off. I'll certainly do that next time I play through the game.
@20thPaul You're clicking the left joy stick in towards the back of the system, and not tilting it down toward the bottom of the screen, right? (that explanation only makes sense in handheld mode)
Can you crouch elsewhere in the game? If it just doesn't work at all, that sounds like you got a faulty left Joy-Con and should contact Nintendo for repair or replacement. The Switch has a 1-year warranty, so it shouldn't be any trouble beyond sending it in and waiting for them to send it back.
I just figured it out. I wasn't pressing the joy con down hard enough so it clicked. I was pressing it in towards the back of the system but not hard enough. Wow I feel stupid lol. Thanks for the reply though!!

A Japanese guy has managed to soar all the way from Hyrule Ridge tower to Eventide Island in the Paraglider Challenge. 20 minutes in the air and a distance of 7,615.8 meters traveled 190 Bomb Arrows used for updraft and plenty of Elixirs drunk.

All the hearts in the world won't mean much if you don't also invest in some strong armour. At most they'll let you take one extra hit by themselves versus strong enemies/weapons.
