I'm willing to bet the inkling's ink will be neutral B and when you are hit more than twice it'll slow you down much like traversing through an enemies' ink does the same in splatoon.

Yeah, I'm definitely still a Brawl fan. SmashforWiiUfor3ds just felt like 'Brawl, but some more stuff that's not going to feel as exciting as the first time SSB had guest characters and Final Smashes.' It lacked the identity that adventure mode and the Subspace Emissary gave the previous games and just existed as one of those loveless modern multiplayer games where you're asked to play the standard MP match type over and over and over again or stop playing the game because there are no other premier modes.
I don't think it was bad and I really liked some of the characters like Villager, but it was pretty underwhelming. Importantly, Smash could stand to look and feel a lot better. There were a lot of reused Wii assets in that game and some of the basic melee hit effects were kind of just bright and not as satisfying as they could be.
I feel like Smash is one of those series like Pokemon or recently Monster Hunter that has built games on the same framework for a long time, accumulating anachronisms that have begun to weigh it down. The items in Smash-4-U in particular are a problem IMO. A lot of the new ones were very confusing, both in regard to what game they even came from and how they functioned in the game. A bunch of them were just too poorly conveyed for what is essentially a party game, to the point where I still can't tell how some of them function after days of playtime.

I'm thinking one of their moves will be the Roller. Might seem obvious, but I'm sure their play-style will involve covering the ground with ink in order to increase mobility and sneak behind/get away from opponents.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again
@Haru17 You complain the Smash formula getting old and tired, then immediately gripe about the new things? Their game of origin is moot in a fight, and figuring out how to use them isn't complicated when the A button is all that's needed. Heck, 4 did one better for young players by allowing A to automatically throw away used up weapons instead of having to figure out the grab input.
I'll take a multiplayer-first game that I can actually play with others online over any story mode, thanks.
@19Robb92 Actually, I think something a bit more radical would work for the squid form; the shield button. Not only would this be closer to the typical trigger-button swim in Splatoon, it'd make them feel more unique, lacking a traditional block or dodges in favour of high mobility and slipperiness. At the same time it acknowledges the Inkling's frailty in gameplay, being more vulnerable to juggles and most likely being very lightweight.
Of course, you know what Smash this year means right?
Nintendo making the Gamecube Adapter fully compatible and/or making a new adapter, thus making Gamecube games for that eventual Switch Virtual Console all the more possible.
Sure that Luigi's Mansion port for 3DS might throw it off a bit, but who says they have to release that game on Switch?
Forgive me for my ignorance as I’m not massively into Smash but if the game has new character and new stages isn’t it by definition a new game. I mean honestly what really changes with each entry?
@BigBadJohn Gameplay tweaks that really change the feel of the games in pretty big ways. 64 was clunky, Melee is the fastest, Brawl is the slowest, 4 is between Melee and Brawl with better available defensive playstyles.

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
@meleebrawler Uh-huh, the problem is I never said 'the formula is getting old.' You're putting words in my mouth there. If anything, I think the Wii U effort disappoints the formula. Like I said, there are just a lot of little clunky things and unexplained tech moves that bog the experience down.
And if you wanted a game with functional online, Smash4WiiU43DS is a pretty good example of the opposite.
Like most, I expect it to be a new game, but built upon SSB4 as a base (much like Splatoon 2, or Mario Tennis Aces).
I'm not sure how large the roster will be at launch, but much like how Splatoon & ARMS handle things, I believe it'll be updated with new characters & stages as time goes on. Since I believe it to be built "on top" of SSB4, I believe all of it's characters will carry over eventually, even if they're not all available at launch (licensing allowing in terms of 3rd party characters).
I personally think Rex & Pyra/Mythra, Takamaru, Captain Toad, and Jiro (Dillon) all have good chances of being newcomers, of course with the obligatory new Pokémon & FE contenders. As for third parties, it's a tough call. Maybe bring Snake back, but whatever else I'm not sure. Maybe Rayman? Sora? Not sure if we'll see any indies, but if we do it'll be Shovel Knight or Shantae. Don't think anything else has that kinda clout (maybe Quote from Cave Story?).
As for stages, I'd like to see some bizarre stuff (I really like stuff like the WarioWare, PictoChat, Nintendogs, and Electroplankton stages). Maybe something based on 1,2, Switch or SnipperClips (personally not interested in the games themselves, but I could see them inspirating some odd stages).
