Topic: Splatoon 3

@vio @_Lime If we are talking 'most hated" weapons, mine is Painbrush to fight, Clash Blaster to use.

I don't like using any weapons that have you rapidly tap the ZR button to cover ink. Just because it's not good for my right index finger, so I want to avoid button-mashing if possible. The Splatana comes to mind. It's a cool-looking weapon, but you have to rapidly press ZR for ink coverage. I don't like using chargers either, though I can make some decent plays with them in Salmon Run sometimes.

I actually like the S-Blast quite a bit after some practice, and I'm fairly decent with it... assuming that my aiming doesn't suck, of course. It's real satisfying to one-shot opponents with it, and it gives me some sweet SNES nostalgia... I guess that's what encouraged me to practice using the S-Blast, lol. And I guess blasters in general, too.

Anybody still play this game actively?
Are the servers better and can you join a game in under a minute?
I am asking because I kind of want to get back into this game as I put 245 hours into this game and burned out lol (havent played since the season they added superchump special)
So whats been going on?

@GalaxicGlobe I cannot play at the moment, but yes, the playerbase is quite active. What specifically do you want to know when you say "What's been going on?"

@CaleBoi25 What's the meta currently, how are the new specials and weapons (I dont know what they added), and is the game full of tryhards?

@GalaxicGlobe Current meta is TACTICOOLER. If you don't have one on your team and the enemy does you are doomed. Yes, there are tryhards I guess, but in the same way there are for literally any game. I don't think the scene is overrun with "unfun" players. The new weapons are pretty good, I love the Enperries! The new specials are Triple Splashdown, which is super fun, and Splattercolor Screen, which is super controversial, for a lot of reasons (see Gem's video on it if you need info on that). But overall the game is still really fun, and Side Order is releasing soon, so there's that!

Played some Salmon Run today. This game is as fun as ever.

@GalaxicGlobe Yes you can still get in matches in under a minute!
Also side order is going to bring tons of new and returning players to the game again, giving it a resurgence like in Splatoon 2 with octo expansion!

Also, why do you say TactiCooler is so good? Does it provide a speed boost or...?

I wonder if maybe there is no February Splatfest and they do 3 in Fresh Season instead (e.g. mid-March, mid-April, mid-May).

It feels like they could take things 2 ways given Side Order releases February 22nd:
1. Get a February Splatfest done before Side Order releases (time is starting to run out for that, it would need to be announced this week)
2. Give people time to complete Side Order and then afterwards have an extra Splatfest given that'll mean an extra Splatfest you'd be able to experience at Inkopolis Square if they go that route.

Side Order being set up that you fall asleep on the train gives the impression beating it will make you wake up and arrive in Inkopolis Square which'll function as a hub like Inkopolis. If that is the case, they may want to boost the number of Splatfests you can experience there in the outcome where the 2 years of support is not extended (i.e. Sizzle Season 2024 is the last season).

I don't think we'll get a splatfest for february, while they're focused on releasing Side Order. Nintendo seems to like having only-one event, or game release, in a given month. We already have Eggstra Work scheduled in the next week. So, I bet that's it. We shall see.

I hope there will be a splatfest on the weekend before side order which will be announced in a February direct to get everyone hyped up and playing the game again- maybe a chaos vs order rematch?
But they are cutting it quite tight so probably not.
