It appears wave 1 is a hub world option, like changing your game's home screen. I'm into it. You can even do spaltfests there, where marie and callie perform, instead of deep cut. It's fine. Octo expansion single player came out one year after release, and so far, it looks like that's what they'll do again. The the new single player is wave two. Besides, there's new content coming with the next season, starting March 1.
The question is.. Do we have to use the train every time to get to Inkopolis? Or once there, it will load into it automatically? And what's with the Splatcast? We saw Callie and Marie in their studio. Do we get them instead for the beginning Splatcast? Well... probably not?
And what's with the lobby? Do we get ported back to the one in Splatsville? Same question for Salmon Run lobby... So many questions! 😂😅
Oh and Team Order got to be the DLC. Good they didn't forget about it.
Regarding the expansion pass "reward bonus" mentioned on eshop:
The in-game reward bonus given for purchasing the expansion pass is nothing special - 125,000 of in-game currency (I think that's what it was?) and a drink ticket for every ability. I'm already swimming in drink tickets from salmon run/shellout machine/sheldon-drone-finds. There should have been exclusive gear, or a very cool banner, or something substantial, espeically since the expansion is $25 USD, the first time a Nintendo game expansion is more than $19.99. (correct me if I'm wrong. That's true for the ninendo games that I have bought, I think.)
@WoomyNNYes I can't speak for America but in the UK it's £23 which is about the same as Mario Kart, less than Smash and Fire Emblem which was about £27 but more than Zelda BOTW which was £18 with the caveat I might have forgotten/mixed up the prices.
I'm very not impressed with wave 1 myself but I've got high hopes for Side Order. At the very least it means I don't have to buy it until the single player mode comes out.
@jump The addition of Splatoon 1 Inkopolis makes more sense to me if they are planning to bring Splatoon 1's single player later (which I've always wanted to play). EDIT: I'll definitely use Splatoon 1 Inkopolis hub world if it can be set as my default hub. I didnt' have a Wii U. So, it's new-ish to me.
EDIT:EDIT: Could Big Run take place on a Splatoon 1 map? (thinking out loud). There's got to be something else they have planned for Splatoon 1 hub world, I would think.
@Dev9417 I'm guessing they are waiting until after the expansion releases to put out the CD. My Splatoon 2 cd (Octotune) had Octo Expansion on it (didn't it??). Music from the expansion would be spoiler-ish.
Edit: I only bought one cd (well, it was a case with two cd's), and I'm pretty certain I got the Octo Expansion music from it. Forgive me if I'm wrong. It's been a while
@WoomyNNYes Releasing the rest of the Splatoon 1 content sounds like a logical guess. The Wii U eshop is shutting down in March, Wii U games weren't patched to fix the security flaw Nintendo Life reported on in December ( https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/12/nintendo-has-been-p... ) and the Splatoon 1 stages in Splatoon 3 so far have all been stages that weren't featured in Splatoon 2.
Ohhh, painting the ring on the ground, the actual ring, is what blocks a Flipper Flopper's dive attack. I've been trying paint the whole area inside the Flipper Flopper's ring like a fool, which is much more time consuming. Five months into Splatoon 3, and I finally read the Grizz tip after a job, after job points tabulations screen. I'm assuming everyone else knows this already? But, I'm posting in case someone else here has been as foolish as I've been. Oh, when will I ever learn? XD

Do bombs thrown at Slammin Lid fields take out Stingers? I regret not trying, although, the fence on the left probably would have blocked my bomb throw.
(I saved this clip, because it's the first time I've taken out a Flyfish with this method at 0:27. Afterwards realized the Stinger was right there, too.) @BenAV@Budda or anyone else

I’m starting to really feel the lack of maps I’m this game compared to the last ones. Was it Splatoon 2 that had one off special maps for Splatfests or did I make that up in my head.
Great! >_< I had really bad luck of getting four x10 matches every 2 games and get thrown in to a team of just Aerosprays and Rollers against just middle to long range weapons in the enemy team. ... lost all of them. I won the first x10 prior to the four in a row(that doesn't help at all).
What I'd love to see is if each plaza comes with the songs from that game, so like if you use Inkopolis via the DLC you get Splatoon 1 music in multiplayer matches.
I had a 6 win streak default turf war. JUST missed a seventh win. I don't think I've ever had a six win streak before.
Oh, yeah, there's no shifty stations for splatfest, as jump pointed out. Although, being that this is my second Splatoon game, and I've played A LOT of Splatoon, I don't know if shifty stations can solve my getting tired of turf war.
I wonder if Nintendo reallocated shifty station resources to make the tricolor stages & Big Run?🤔
Is it possible that they increased the chances of multiplying matches (x10 in particular)? From the 3 hours I played in total, I had eight x10 matches and one x100. I had maybe two x10 each Splatfest and no x100 in the past. Today, there were crazy many multipying matches. Like almost one after another. 😐
