Honestly, at first I wasn't really a big fan of how these looked, but the more I look at them, the more I like them. The only thing I dislike is how there's no shading in battles, but they'll probably add that before it releases. I just hope that they include Platinum's post-game content and pokedex.

So I guess their solution after Sw/Sh was just to separate the traditional Pokemon game from the open world parts. Huh.

I'll repeat what someone else said that going all Octopath on D/P sprites would be the best option but this is...fine. Add a bit more style to it and it'd fit perfectly next to the Mystery Dungeon remake.

I'm glad that remakes are being outsourced, since that allows the team making the games to focus more on the games they're making, instead of worrying about remaking older titles.

I just don't like the chibi style, but like I said, I get why they went that way. I dunno why they decided to di this instead of doing the remake normally like past remakes. Then again this is being dealt with different developers this time, so....

Do we know if these remakes will be compatible with Sword/Shield for battling and trading? That's usually a given, but the completely different art direction has me concerned that these won't be considered 8th gen games.

@g_ruz They'd have to update SWSH with new Pokemon, because not all of them are in SWSH.

I'm just wondering about Pokemon from 5th gen and later will be in this (because, you know...Let's Go games didn't do this, and Sword/Shield's Pokedex's....erm, yeah, lol), and also the Battle Frontier. Bring back the freakin' Arcade. Stop giving us just Tower clones. >.<

It would be cool to see new pokemon in sinnoh. Though it's hard to tell with Pokemon nowadays.

They have Pokemon Home to connect the games indirectly, though. So they have that excuse to keep them separate.

I'm always very quick to overlook graphics and visual issues in games, so I'm not really bothered by the style here. The fact that they're aiming to make faithful remakes has me excited, since the originals were so good.

@crimsontadpoles It excites me because it means they're less likely to destroy these games and make a worse version of them. I wonder if they'll try to incorporate any features from platinum however..

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't mind having random encounters for one final time.

@VoidofLight Platinum features such as Distortion World and Battle Frontier would be wonderful to have. Unless they say otherwise, I'll assume we won't get them.

@crimsontadpoles Yeah. I just found out as well that the Looker is Platinum exclusive, so he probably won't be in the remakes either..
