@MarioVillager92 Yeah many games do such as MP6 and BOTW and Animal Crossing, I think it'd fit so well for an RPG similar to TTYD. It'd be awesome if we could see that in the next one!
How are people tacking the Trouble Centre Challenges? I am taking my time between chapters. Doing the majority of them after I complete a chapter and new ones come in.
Going back to the Glitz Pit and doing that part over again after finishing chapter 6, maybe I have to beat the final boss first or something before I can fight this guy, we'll see.

@Eel Oh no! At Least you found it before you got too much further.
My troubles quest are at a stand still just now while I try and remember which shop or where I saw the Cake Mix. I know that I had seen it!
@Uncle_Franklin Lol those pipes are so nice, one of the best improvements. It’s awesome to have a those pipes that leads to all those places all in one room.
I have quite a bit of time in the game so far, and it’s so good! I am absolutely loving this game.
The music is a huge standout for me. It is so well done. I can choose the original too which I will be doing more potentially on my next play through.
One other thing I’ve absolutely been enjoying is the battle engine. It can be something to get used to for those who don’t like RPGs, but I’ve probably done well over 100 battles at this point and it’s not even starting to get stale or anything. The timing is just so satisfying, and the new battle music helps keeps things even more fresh. It’s so fun discovering the best way to defeat an enemy. The XP is so rewarding! Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King’s battles engines focused way too much on (boring and sometimes tedious) gimmicks, and you didn’t even get XP! So glad we’re returning to the better way of battling, I hope the next Paper Mario expands on this idea.
Every chapter is so unique. Each one (as far as I am) gives off a unique vibe and often has a different sub-plot. It is so well made! The characters are very well designed. They look unique (compared too all of the generic characters from SS and CS and even somewhat OK), and each has their own personality. The new expressions and voices give even more character to them.
The graphics are obviously a standout. They are so well made. It finds the perfect mix between the old style and new style, and it works phenomenally. The lighting, shadows, and reflections are awesome looking, really shows how much work was put in this game. The gameplay looks and feels really smooth as well.
The Art and Music Galleries are also really awesome. Especially when I want to listen to the game’s music, I am able to shuffle music from a certain chapter or whatever. I haven’t unlocked many art gallery things yet, but from what I have unlocked they look really cool and it seems as if its concepts from both OG TTYD and even the remake.
I am really enjoying the game so far. I hope that the future of Paper Mario expands on the ideas from TTYD (like TTYD did with PM64), and combine some of the best elements from Origami King (we’ve seen some of this in TTYD remake as well).
I am at the final boss on Chapter 1 and struggling to beat it, when I watched a YouTube video of someone doing it to get an idea they had way more items than I did.
Unsure what I should do now, do I need to start again?
I agree with @PikminMarioKirby, the combat never gets boring, mostly due to the enemy diversity. There's also a logic to everything that makes it never seem cheap or unfair
And then on-top of that the story is solid and very self aware. Which also loops back at times to add more diversity to the combat at points. I loved the N64 original, this one is better. There's a reason why people rave about this game
@Fox-McCloud I don’t think you need to restart. (Chapter 1 slight spoilers) Some characters should have mentioned a secret item you may need . Do you have that yet? I believe it’s still possible to win without using it (I’m pretty sure I did). Also you could maybe walk back to the Petalburg shop to get more items to help beat the boss.
@skywake A lot of times different enemies have different ways of beating them, which is definitely a big part of making battling always exciting. This is something that wasn’t in Origami King as much.
The plot is really good. TTYD and PM64 are both awesome, both are some of my favorite games of all time. I like TTYD more, but both are seriously great.
@PikminMarioKirby I enjoyed Origami King's ring system a lot--The puzzle approach to fighting enemies and bosses gave it a boost above Sticker and Color's efforts and made battles feel less pointless--but it was nice to replay TTYD and tackle threats in a more involved manner, and it helps that the battle system just VERY well designed, rewarding the player's skills in a very investible way.
"Now I have an obligation to tag along and clear the area if Luigi so much as glances at a stiletto."
@Eel Being stylish is so satisfying. Learning the timing is also fun because it varies depending on the move. Surprisingly, even somewhat rewarding.
@N00BiSH Origami King’s battle engine was definitely better than the CS and SS battle engines. The rings worked pretty well during bosses, but the ring combinations kept being repeated for the normal battles (to be fair there’s only so many combinations). Lack of exp also makes Origami King’s battle engine feel inferior compared to 64 or TTYD. Definitely way better than Sticker Star Color Splash’s battle engines.
I never bothered with stylish moves very much, if anything the hammer attacks are the ones I'm good at. But yeah, eh...I usually just don't bother.
Anyways, I'm on the last chapter, haven't gone back to the game today yet, though. I am curious about the new optional boss, though, I wonder if it's even harder than the game's original optional boss. lol

Stylish moves keep having me thinking of Super Paper Mario. I felt the way that game handled was...pretty overly simple. Not sure if that's the same on how PM64 & TYD did.
Been years since I've played PM64. I'm afraid of being rusty when I do finally get Paper Mario: TYD in July.
