Wow. I'm blown away! They delivered BIG TIME!

5 additional monsters- Chameleos, Teostra, Kushala Daora, Apex Rathalos and Apex Diablos, AND layered armor crafting which is the first time in the history of the franchise they've ever offered this in a base game, AND Apex monster Quests outside of rampage, AND unlocked HR for hunters, palicos and palamutes, AND event Quests, AND arena Quests, AND it says "more" as if we may even be getting an extra monster not spoken of?

We know Bazelgeuse is coming. That much was leaked. But we thought it wouldn't be until the 3.0 update. Maybe the intruding monsters they're referring to is B52, and they plan for it to be a surprise? Someone else mentioned seeing Tetsucabra armor, but I'm not sure that can be trusted. Doesn't make sense to add low tier monsters in an update.

And best of all, the 3.0 update is just one month away! ONE MONTH! I thought we'd be waiting til July or something. Maybe even August. But nope, we've got another massive injection of content a month from now. They're killing it.

May need to take tomorrow off of work now.

It's sweet that for now, it seems like title updates will probably be monthly. This is how you do a live service honestly.

Chameleos, Teostra and Kushala Daora were originally introduced in the JP exclusive MH2 on PS2, but most discovered them in MH Freedom Unite on PSP.

They were designed kind of as a sword beats axe, axe beats lance, lance beats sword Triangle. The poison from Chameleos is the one kryptonite of Kushala Daora to make him stop with the crazy black wind tornados. While Kushala's ice element (think it's ice?) worked on Teostra, and Teostra's supernova blasts were the one thing that could damage an invisible monster you can't see, on top of Chameleos being weak to fire (I think- forgive me if I'm wrong on the details).

Granted, some of that is more observational lore but still, they did make an original trio with a unique triangular relationship. Just having all 3 is like... the gang is back together. And with wyvern riding now a thing? You'll actually be able to utilize that triangular relationship even more.

....I was kinda expecting the end of the event would give us a tease or something. Ah well...

I wonder how the normal Apex hunts will work, will there be additional quests where we can do multi hunts and Apex monsters can be included? Maybe an arena quest where we fight all the Apexes?

EDIT: Also, just realized, you think instead of Bazel, we could be getting the variants instead? Furious Rajang?

I still can't figure out your "lol"

You'll be asking a legit question and end it with "lol" so I think, is he joking or... does he just tack lol onto every post? 😄 (genuinely makes it hard to interpret intent sometimes).

...Then again chances are I know none of that would happen anyways...they seem to be putting in less arena quests in general for this game.

@JaxonH Ah. It's going to be sweet to take advantage of their weaknesses due to Wyvern riding honestly.

@Ulysses I feel like Apex armor is coming in this update, mainly since you're able to challenge apex quests outside of Rampages.

Also, just thought of something scary....since we know the monster is happening.

Zpex Zinogre...but instead of being based on just Thunderlord...also having attacks from the original Apex Zinogre. Get ready to be paralyzed constantly. lol

Is it ever explained in the game how Apex monsters come to be?

If it did, I didn't catch it....I just know where they come from gameplay-wise. lol

I'm glad the existing Apex monsters are getting hub quests as well.

Feels like a waste to have Rampage-exclusive monsters, since they're not hunt and the weird damage multipliers and special weapons make Rampage fights feel like something different entirely.

...Yeah it says new monsterS will intrude on some quests. Doubt Apex and Elder Dragons will show up as intruders here...so, I'm gonna guess both Bazel and Jho are back.

Doubt it...it already says new intruder monsters will show up, Jho and Bazel are the only other intruder monsters left. So it'll either be both or one of them.

I seriously doubt Jho is coming. He was never mentioned in the leaks.

Bazelgeuse, on the other hand, is almost certainly a lock. I think Bazel will be a 6th surprise monster, and will serve as the invader for quests moving forward. I do think it’s possible Apex monsters could also invade quests. That would provide some variety and they’re the perfect tier of aggressive, non-elder dragon monster to do it.
