@Northwind It's so annoying when a monster comes into the area you're in with the other monster, and instead of the two fighting, the monster just charges directly towards you..

all day ive been doing online Gathering Hall in Rise. the 3 star kind.
Its amazing that other people online can handle a Tigrex but noone knows how to handle a Magnamalo. Everyone just swarms up and attacks the Magnamalo. I tend to back off and attack when i know its "safe" to attack.
also for the 3 star Tigrex,, anyone else notice that it has a weird glow in the dark effect when you fight it in the underground water cavern are at the Volcano? I swear either Capcom did it on purpose to make it have that weird evil red glow to look like one of those Tigrex species from Monster Hunter 4
@urrutiap It's probably because Tigrex is a returning monster that's been in the series since Freedom Unite, while Magnamalo is a brand new monster that just got introduced.

Just did my first 5 star quest with an "invading" monster or whatever...took about 20-ish minutes taking down Royal Ludroth while keeping a close eye on that ? lol....Does he just sleep the entire time or wake up at random?
I mean, the moment I killed my target monster he woke up just to leave the area, lol
Seriously...high rank doesn't seem right with no Jho or Bazel to show up and ruin your hunts. All Rajang is doing is sleeping the entire time, only waking up to leave the map, wtf? >.<

So I've rolled credits last night and I feel like I've barely even scratched the surface of what the game has to offer. I'm definitely telling myself that all the content so far was just a big tutorial and that the real game starts now
This seems to be the quickest way to drop him, as long as you roll away before his cloud turns pink and explodes he's pretty easy to bring down. I dont bother with tactics at all so far (although I'm only 4* hub), theres no voice chat to talk tactics and the text takes to long to use on the fly, why bother when brute force seems to take down everything.
Decided to try out that Apex Arzuros urgent rampage mission solo, and... I beat it on the first try. But it was chaotic and unfun. I still hate the rampage missions. I'll probably need to play more of them outside of urgent quests to farm materials at some point, but I'll definitely be doing that with other people.
At least I've unlocked 4-star hub missions now.
And haven't had any trouble with Magnamalo the few times I've fought it. Honestly, all of my Zinogre encounters have been way more brutal.
I'm surprised at all the negativity towards rampage quests me and my Mrs love them although they can be crazy and stressful they feel super rewarding upon completion but maybe we are enjoying them because we are together and not with randoms/ solo
@Jrpglover
I kind of am too, actually? I love them. I heard a journalist frame it this way- if MH Quests are normally a dance, rampage Quests are a street brawl. And I completely agree. It's sooooo much fun setting up your defenses, strategizing where the automated ballista will go, where your manual ballista will be, where to place bombs, and getting it all set up in time for the horde.
Then the horde comes and you just let er rip, strategically saving repel shots and crag shots for green and blue icon monsters, particularly the flying ones like Aknosom. Keeping a close eye on attacks against the installations to guard with R, and then when you see a monster that can be mounted, abandoning post and wiredashing over to ride cowboy. Then going full Rambo on the entire entourage.
It's pure adrenaline. When I see that final monster break the gate down, and we move into the second area (that's what the farcaster is for), it's like the final round of a boxing match where everything is on the line. Quick, set up crossfire at the final gate with 2 wyvernfire turrets! Set loose Elder Fugen, then Hinoa and Minoto! Then smash that counter gong and get in there! And the Apex Monsters are such a great challenge. It's super tense.
It's some of the best fun I've had in the entire series.
I enjoy them both solo and with my brother in multi-player, but I like them way more with my brother. It's just more fun when you have a partner coordinating with you.
@Ralizah
I fought Zinogre at work today to show my coworker (still working on selling him on the series). I almost carted several times even in fully upgraded Basarios armor with 36 defense a piece. It was exhilarating. I got that tail too- chop chop! And busted both horns.
Good to get High Rank unlocked. Just for the sake of having access, getting upgraded petalaces, decorations and you can start stacking advanced armor spheres now.

this pretty much sums up how I feel about it too I just love the change of pace from the typical hunts and it's far better than the siege hunts of past imo
I absolutely love the open sandbox feel, World removed the loading in-between area's (which I never minded) but still felt restrictive after BOTW. But these 'worlds' feel so fun exploring which is actually a first and how you go about it with the spiderman thingy is just awesome.
Any Tri hunters here? Tri was my first mh game and I put around 500 hours in that game and still have the most fond memories of it. So you can imagine how it was for me stumbling upon Sandy Plains without it knowing beforehand... (I play in Spanish so the titel of the level did not spoil me) Running up to those rhinoboys by the tree with the paths diverging... It just hit me. Nostalgia overload.
That map is incredible. I absolutely adored slowly but surely piecing together all the parts from the old game by memory and letting it all overlap, and you're like "cool I can actually go there now..."
I'm an Great sword and Lance main but I've been expanding my skill-set a bit in World and Gen. And now I am in love with Sword and Shield(no not you Pokemon!) I will soon expand on my impressions but let's just say I am surprised I love it this much.
