@Rainz i saw !!! very exciting, im glad. i love the idea of a silksong amiibo, i think for the next smash that could be a possibility. i hope they find new ways to implement amiibo onto the new system :]

@Rainz The only way themes could return is if they allocate more RAM space to the OS with the Switch 2 reported to have 12 GB RAM, like allocating about 1.5 or 2 GB.

If Themes are going to eat up 1.5-2GB of RAM than forget the themes 😆….i much rather they allocate that for the devs to use. I’d prefer my games running smoothly over a background theme I’m going to spend little time even looking at

@Rainz I mean as part of why the Switch UI looks too bland and there are no themes is because of little space the OS uses (probably less than 1 GB). Actually the Switch 1 only had 4 GB of RAM.

On Switch 2 if 1.5 or 2 GB of RAM is used for the OS, the other 10 or 10.5 GB is reserved for games.

Valid concern! This gen for PS5 and XSX has been lacklustre. Sony has slowed down a bit with the remasters but that’s pretty much all we were seeing at the start of this gen. I still feel as though those systems should be on market for the next 4-5 yrs as they haven’t even tapped into their potential yet. Imagine what Nintendo could do with that kind of power. If anything I think we’d be in line for those rumoured Twilight Princess and Waker remakes and potentially those Metroid Prime 2+3 remasters if they don’t release on Switch 1. I’m thinking with the mouse functionality we’ll see more original software for the Switch 2.

@Rainz I’m not just talking launch schedule I’m talking overall. Third parties need to pick and choose wisely what games they bring.

@Rainz But designing our own themes with mouse support would actually be creative.

20 Mils will not be enough unless they find a way to stop "Scapers" from botnet buying. They need "In-Person" Preorder with NSO verification that isn't created "DayOF" to scalping buying. This is my biggest worry. I would like to get two Switch 2, one for me and another for my nieces and newphews.

Needing NSO verification to buy a Switch 2 in the first wave sounds enticing for people like us, but man would it create so many headaches and ill will from consumers in general. Definitely not the way to go.

Then what's another better idea to stop Scalping and let those that want a Switch 2 to get one? Everyone that has a Switch has a registered Nintendo account that also isn't a NSO - they can verify whom is whom with that as well.

@SwitchForce It would probably be similar to the Alarmo approach (where one needed an NSO membership to preorder it early on), and other retailers might take the same approach, like Walmart requiring Walmart+, Target requiring Target Circle, GameStop requiring GameStop Pro, etc.

I think my only concerns right now are pricing and battery life. Like the battery life since 3DS for early versions of Nintendo systems has become disappointing, it makes me wish I had waited longer to buy them (I think literally months after I got my Switch they started releasing Switches with better battery life).

Actually that's not fair, its both more understandable and less of an issue for me with Switch's battery life, 3DS battery life was a huge disappointment.

I honestly don’t know if there exists a true solution. I just think you’d be asking for all sorts of problems if you limited who can buy one to NSO accounts. This isn’t Alarmo (and I love my Alarmo lol).

It’s always a better value to wait. You’ll get the better and revised hardware and the gaming library is fleshed out by then. I did wait out on Switch until 2020 during the height of COVID at that! I managed to snag the better battery model and some great games were already out by then. We know Nintendo will release an eventual Lite and OLED version so early adopters will get burnt but I’m sure I’ll own multiple Switch 2 for the household so I pretty much know I’ll be getting a Switch 2 lite or OLED version down the road. If you can be patient and hold out 2-3 yrs tho…I’ll give u all the credit and it’s definitely an even better value proposition at that time

Agree with this. Scapling will always exist. It sucks but requiring a NSO sub will kill the launch numbers imo and likley cause the next fake outrage on Socials. I prefer to pre-order my stuff from BestBuy for store pickup personally. I don't want my switch 2 sitting on my doorstep while I am at work. It's a me problem by just how I feel.

@LordDieALot That could very well be just be for online preorders. I don’t know how it will be handled for in-store preorders.

@Rainz That's not a real option here for most. You can always resell the Switch to get Switch 2 so that logic isn't grounded here. If you want to wait that is your choice to do that but leave that choice to each their own. I know people whom have 2017 and they are ok with that but might go to Switch 2 possibly. I currently have upgraded to three OLED(Splatoon, TOTK, Pokémon) and will not sell these as they are collectors item now. We know they will update Switch 2 with OLED assuming it doesn't put out of reach of the general consumers - they are the bread and butter for Nintendo. Just remember LCD 2017 isn't LCD 2025 that's a fallacy is what it sounds like but couldn't be farther from the truth. But no one is complaining about Portal that uses LCD right?

@LordDieALot NSO doesn't always require subscription you also created your Nintendo account and they don't charge for that and they can use that to verify that is a live person as well. So it's not a paid NSO but NIN account that wasn't DayOne created to do scalping they can verify as well. And your CC/Debit will link to a actual person and if it was a online created they will also check and verify whom is the real identity of the user to stop Scalping bots.

I'm very much working on the assumption that scalpers will win unless Nintendo purposely goes out of their way to make Switch 2 a console that you don't need to buy day 1.

@Grumblevolcano Another check is those with Smartphone has a Nintendo app they can also use that to verify the registered user as well. So that will prevent Scalper if they have to show here's my account to verify it's a single buyer.
