@Pastellioli Speedruns are always entertaining to watch. The amount of practice and timing that goes into pulling them off is insane. I've seen speedruns of other Sonic games, various classic FPS games, like Doom and Quake. Beating Zelda under a time limit of Smash's Masterpieces feature is crazy. I remember Sonic Gems Collection had a similar feature where you can play Sonic classics within a time limit. You had to beat an end boss and the game started you there, so I'd always lose on purpose to see if it's the full game, lol.
Yeah, it still makes me wonder how it would have been received if the fixes were present at launch. By the time the update came out, everyone making fun of Sonic Boom moved on. Indeed, I believe it did get a Japanese release too, under the name of "Sonic Toon." Surprisingly, it did get a Japanese release, and IIRC, I remember people saying it was better (my guess, it had the fixes before the US version did).
I keep hearing TimeSplitters was good, thing is I never played them. I think at the time I first heard about them, I was playing most FPS games on PC, this was during the GameCube days. Yikes, that does sound rough. I'm surprised I still haven't heard of it given I watch Microsoft's presentations for PC stuff.
Wow, I had no idea about Diddy Kong Racing originally going to be an RTS. I haven't looked too much at the history of it, I do remember looking into some of the unused tracks at some point. Hopefully it get's rereleased. It does make me happy some of the Rare stuff has been rereleased. Even on Wii U, I have Donkey Kong 64.
Indeed, also watched Christmas Vacation last night. Tonight is going to be my weekly episode of WWE Smackdown (yes, I watch wrestling), tomorrow should be another Christmas movie. I like watching Christmas movies, so I always watch them around this time of year. I have a bunch of them to get through so trying to do one on most days of the week. Last movies I watched that weren't Christmas related was Inside Out 2 and Wish. I'm planning to see Sonic 3 with a friend. We saw both Sonic movies and Knuckles together, so we're looking forward to finally seeing it together.
It just has to be, always trying to make content to please other people, having to worry about what if people don't like it, having to worry about the algorithm YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc has in place, the toxic people who comment. I can't imagine it's not stressful. Posting art whenever you feel like is a better way of doing it, if people like it, they'll always show up. It's always amazing when official accounts take not of art, and even better when they decide to showcase it. Yeah, having a phone in one hand makes recording difficult. I had to prop up my phone to record something... I used 3 DS cases and tape, lol. I don't have the gear to make videos, so I just don't do it. Though I did try, so there is that at least.

It can be, even scarier with the 502 error. Imagine typing a lot only to have it have a 50/50 chance of disappearing. I just learned to use Notepad. I usually stay logged into Nintendo Life, but there are times when I do get logged out (usually hinted by the fact that night mode is off).
That would be awesome if they all got their own games.

@Anti-Matter Wicked is everywhere. I'm probably going to wait for it to show up on Peacock (it's a Universal movie, they usually show up there). Budget reasons is why I can't really go see a movie at the moment, between Christmas shopping and buying myself new Trolls shirts (got some good sales). Next movie I'm seeing should be Sonic 3 with my friend.

@Tyranexx The fate of autosaving. Ever since getting 502 errors, I just use Notepad to copy and paste my post in so I don't lose it. Makes me paranoid, in a "I might lose this" kind of way since I don't know if it went through. Seems to happen whenever I take time to reply to a long post, while shorter posts go through without issue.
Yeah, it just doesn't last, my mom recommends I use it within three days of opening. Going by what my mom told me. So I got use out of it for some pizzas and pasta. Enjoy, Italian food is always good.

I did post some game recordings and screenshots too, but because of controversy, I haven't done it in a while.

It did have online play over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, I actually remember playing a few races back when the service was active. Getting a lot of followers is usually surprising. I remember the official Trolls account showed off a Trolls drawing I posted (they use to do a thing called Trolls Art Tuesday, a fan art showcase), next thing I know, I had followers.
Don't know. Safe to assume if I just sit at a page typing, the 502 error happens. This is a short post, so most likely it will go through 1, 2, 3. When I type a long reply, I'm sitting on the page for a bit, and that's when the error usually happens. That's only my guess.
@Sunsy Yeah, speedruns are one of the most interesting things ever, especially ones that have special rules in place, like trying to complete a game in maybe 10 mins, since usually speedruns don’t have time limits. Usually, when people do attempt speedruns under time limits, they have to find any bugs or glitches that they can use that will speed the playthrough up since it would be really hard to finish the game under such a small time limit. It’s so cool what people do with speedruns and the stuff that they discover about the game. I remember that I would sometimes look up the fastest recorded speedruns for some games on this site that had a leaderboard and it was cool. I usually used it to look at N64 games and who completes the game in the fasted time possible.
That’s interesting, so it seems like Japan liked the WiiU Sonic Boom game more. Yes, I would guess that it could have been the game being more polished and fixed. Maybe the game was released in Japan a bit later and it gave them some time to remove bugs that ruined the game’s performance.
Former Rare employees have made a lot of well-known games. I hear TimeSplitters is super good and similar to Rare’s other shooter games GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, but I haven’t played them and I don’t know if I’ll buy them. I recall hearing that Free Radical Design was initially shut down and then revived so that they could develop a fourth game, but their parent company Embracer Group planned to shut the company down unless a third-party company came in to purchase Free Radical, but no one did, so the studio was closed down and the fourth game didn’t happen. I didn’t know much about Free Radical, but it stinks that they had the rug pulled from under their feet. I heard so many people wanting a new TimeSplitters game too, so that sucks a bunch. Everwild looks so cool, but they haven’t provided updates on it in a while. The development on that game sounds rough and I even think it was reported that Rare didn’t know what Everwild was becoming or what direction to take it in before they rebooted it.
It is interesting that a lot of Rare’s iconic games were completely different during development and could have turned out differently. I believe that the original RTS game was then changed to a completely original racer game before they included Diddy Kong in it and added more cartoony elements and characters to it. I do hope it gets released on NSO, given that game hasn’t been re-released because of licensing issues. Before the eShop closed, I actually was considering buying DK64 but I didn’t.
Going back to development stories on games, I think that Banjo-Kazooie’s development story is also interesting, since it was originally not a platformer, and it was developed for the SNES before being moved to the N64 and was supposed to feature a human protagonist, and pirates were prominent in that one, and if I recall, Banjo was supposed to appear in the original version, but was not the protagonist. I enjoy hearing about the stories behind the making of my favorite games and some of the concepts they had for it, and I especially love hearing about Rare’s cancelled games and development stories.
I see, I saw Wish back in May but I haven’t seen Inside Out 2 yet despite how popular it was and the many reels I saw on Instagram for it. I have also seen all Sonic movies released before 3, but I don’t remember much about 1 compared to 2, and I haven’t seen the Knuckles show but watched a review of it. I saw the second movie in theatres near its release and it was awesome, and I absolutely enjoyed being in the theater with other people and hearing people’s reactions. I remembers a few kids being amazed at a few scenes in Sonic 2. I am also going to see 3 in theaters, though not on opening day unfortunately but I am glad it’s almost here. I’ll have to stay off of social media before I see it so I can avoid spoilers. I hope you enjoy 3 when it releases!
I enjoy posting without a schedule and stuff, I think if I did have a schedule in place for when I would post stuff, I’d be stressful, especially trying to get an artwork done for social media before a posting date. I tried doing that once but I often stayed up late trying to finish artwork, but often it didn’t work and I either got sleepy or didn’t finish the drawing in time, because I usually take a while to finish pictures so I stopped doing that. Usually, when I tried to record videos on my phone, I tried it put the phone laying down on top of these art supply organizers I had on my desk, but the camera was bad quality and wasn’t clear enough to see. There was one time in the past one of my siblings recorded a speedpaint of me drawing a picture, but the camera was poor quality and shaky since we during use anything to hold it prop up the phone, and having to hold the camera up while someone is drawing is very hard and tiring.
Another reason why I don’t record reels or art videos is because of the lighting, since usually images and reels with white or clear lighting is preferable and clean, but because I’m always busy in the morning, I can’t record or post images, so I only post later in the day in either the afternoon or night, but that’s when the lighting is darker, so I always have to resort to using a yellow light desk lamp. Though, yellow lighting ruins my artwork a bit by making the colors in my drawings look warmer and different. There are a few pictures I took that have clearer lighting, but sometimes the yellow lighting is far more visible and prominent in others.

@Pastellioli It's like a dedicated art, you have to find ways to make it through the game quickly by any means necessary, which leads to glitches I didn't even know existing getting discovered and pointed out. Super Mario Bros ones impress me too, there's so many tricks I didn't even know about like clipping into a wall just to get through it. I think I've seen similar speedrun leaderboards, I'll sometimes peek at them to confirm what the world record is when someone says they have the world record or previous world record.
Yeah, I remember when the Japan one released people were just saying how much was improved for that release. Indeed, not to mention more work had to be done to translate the story and cutscenes, which I remember people were saying were better than the US cutscenes.
Shame really, I wouldn't mind a new TimeSplitters or a re-release. I never played it so I wouldn't mind there being a re-release (on second thought, why not give lesser known games a second chance, I always see people wanting popular games remade, but others usually go ignored). I'd play it just to experience a TimeSplitters game.

Inside Out 2 was really good, saw it in theaters with my friend (who loves hockey, so he loved that Riley was into hockey and the movie had hockey scenes). Cool, the theater reaction is always the best part of watching movies in the theater. I saw Sonic 1 and 2 close to their release, and loved them both. Knuckles was at my friend's place. We ordered some pizza and watched all six episodes. Avoiding spoilers is going to be hard since I do check my Instagram account regularly.
That's another good thing about not having a date to finish doing art, it makes it less stressful. For me, it's more of a hobby, so I don't have to worry about having art or posts done by a certain day. Most I do is make special drawings for holidays, usually I get those done well ahead of the day, and I don't have to worry about posting it until the day comes. Yeah, it makes recording hard when you don't have the right equipment. Since I saw some shorts on YouTube of other Trolls fans opening Trolls Mineez (they're collectable figures based off the Trolls movies, come in blind bags), I wanted to try some myself. I propped up my camera with tape and three DS cases, and recorded it. It wasn't easy to do since I needed to make sure the lighting was good, and no sound was in the background. I did share my opening on YouTube with other Trolls fans and collectors, beyond that, I don't see myself doing it regularly. Not to mention, I just like collecting Trolls Mineez in general, and I have a huge collection of them collecting them within the past year. It was fun to try and experiment with.
Yeah, lighting is not good with me too. I usually have to use my window when taking pics of art I draw. When I recorded that Trolls Mineez opening video, I used my phone's light, which was not easy to set up with a light already on (since it's automatic).

@Mariotag I could easily carry my Switch around in its own case, then a backpack since I often take one between work and home to haul my work machine and some other components around. Sometimes snacks too. I dislike driving, but unfortunately it's necessary.
Live service and subscription models have for the most part hindered gaming IMO. Though I don't think Gamepass was terrible until more recently. From what I've heard anyway. Unfortunately, companies love it for obvious reasons. And many people are gullible enough to pay into them.
I found most stuff in EoW by myself, but I did have to consult a guide for 2 echoes, a few Heart Pieces, and the last 5 Might crystals I didn't have.
@Pastellioli I like art with a lot of vibrant colors! I don't mind muted tones and the occasional black/white/gray and sepia looks either, but color variety is king in my book. There are a ton of drawing techniques out there, and I don't think there's really any wrong way to go about it IMO. Experimenting is a great thing, especially when it comes to creativity. Then we might discover something about ourselves we didn't know about before.
People and interests are allowed to change. There is nothing wrong with that lol. That's one way we grow over our lives. Mentally and intellectually I mean. I've loved animals my entire life, though I grew into my preference for fantasy settings on my own. I do enjoy modern and some steampunk settings depending on the portrayal though. As for games, I've always liked platformers. The Pokemon and older Harry Potter games are what got me into turn based RPGs. I attribute my love of action/adventure games to the Zelda series and Okami. Not sure how I got into puzzle games, though I've generally always liked finding patterns and solutions in things in my environment. Same with problem solving.
Crunchyroll seems like it's worse with ads than I originally thought. The YT ads were particularly bad before the US election for me. Sorry, but I don't have any sympathy for poliicial money begging and don't donate to political causes for various reasons. Especially when said beggars often earn more than I and many others do in a given year. YT ads are usually before and after videos for me, and sometimes dispersed into longer ones too. I kind of understand why dislike counts were hidden since those features can be abused. I can see your reasoning too though. Unfortunately, people abusing tools is why we can't often have full reasonable use of them.
@Zuljaras For sure! I don't really like the direction they took the game after Warlords since I feel like Blizzard is using the whole "Time travel back to this event with changes" tired trope badly, especially after reading what happened in Shadowlands. But I have been tempted to jump into WoW Classic. I was heavily into the Warcraft universe's lore until Mists of Pandaria, mainly because I became very busy IRL after that point. That's primarily why I played: I loved the world's lore and storytelling. I've never been really into the PVP and Guild aspects. I don't have the time or sanity to invest into a serious raid guild anyway lol.
Still, maybe if I figure out how to quit adding to my game backlog, I might revisit the game someday.
@Sunsy If I do type these out on PC, I typically use Notepad++ lol. Which I prefer typing on PC, but I have my phone on me a lot more than my personal machine (and I don't use my work machine for personal stuff besides ordering food). I've had the site swallow the occasional post. Errors 500 and above are server side errors and there's nothing we can do when they happen sadly.

I'm really tired of subscriptions and live service. Imagine my horror when I found out that, no, the next Kingdom Hearts game isn't JUST gonna be mobile, but a "GPS RPG". Meaning almost certainly no console release. In a series where almost literally everything matters, having mobile only games to begin with is brutal. And then there's the insanity with anime and video streaming services in general, with having to pay a steadily rising subscription fee for content the app I'm paying for isn't even optimized well enough for me to watch stuff on. (As of Disney taking over Hulu, and forcing the ps5 update, Netflix is the only one left I can comfortably use)

@Sunsy It’s so interesting, the game I’ve seen have the most speedruns and one of the faces of speedrunning is Mario 64. There was this pretty notable video a few years ago where a YouTuber watched a blindfolded speedrun of Mario 64 but proved that the speedrunner cheated and could still see with the blindfold, and that video is what kind of introduced me to speedrunning and piqued my interest in it. I also enjoy hearing the people skilled in speedrunning break down complex techniques and explaining them. Now that I’m talking about it, I wonder what recent speedrunning discoveries have been made. I haven’t watched a speedrunning video in a while, but I’ll probably check what new stuff there is for speedrunning. Super curious to see if there have been any new records made for a few N64 games.
I see, that is interesting. I would guess that the Japanese localization changed the script and dialogue a bit, which happens a lot with game localization. I think some people thought that the WiiU Boom game didn’t have awesome dialogue, so that is interesting that people liked the dialogue in the Japanese version more. I didn’t even know that people liked the Japanese version more!
Yeah, it still stinks that people’s wishes for a new game came true just for it to get cancelled. I hear that Free Radical’s parent company, Embracer Group, isn’t liked much because of how they have so many studios, but don’t manage them well and close them. I think the most notable closure I heard of under Embracer Group was Volition, but I read that they actually shut down a ton more studios they owned and cancelling new games in popular and loved game franchises. It stinks a lot that happened to all the people working at those game studios and having their work and games cancelled and scrapped, plus the fact some games weren’t given second chances. I would love if some lesser known games also got more second chances or revivals, in fact, a few that I’ve played come to mind for me.
It was interesting reading a bit about the development stories for DKR and Banjo. There was another Rare game called Jet Force Gemini that featured two human protagonists, so Rare did have a couple human protagonists. Though, a lot of their main characters were animals, though one exception to that I can think of is Kameo, since the protagonist in that one was an elf but she was human-like.
I always liked Inside Out a ton, I remember seeing it in theatres almost a decade ago. I though Sonic 2 was a pretty good adaptation of the games, and what I like the most about the movies is the as they go on, they start to take more elements from the games and begin to feel more like Sonic, and 3 seems like it’s going to do more of that. Having pizza and watching Knuckles must have been fun, sometimes when me and my family get fast food we watch something, but it’s only for a bit and we don’t finish what we are watching. I really hope I don’t come across any spoilers for Sonic 3 online, I’ll have to avoid using Instagram until I see it, or just be careful with spoiler-y posts, because it’s very common for social media accounts to talk and post stuff about hyped up movies. I remember I spoiled all of Sonic 2 before seeing it and regretting it once I saw it, and I told myself I wasn’t going to do that again for the next movie. I really want to know what character they are going to show in the end credits, because I think a month ago they were teasing that they were going to reveal a new character for the films at the end of 3, and I wonder who it’ll be. I am hoping I can see it as soon as possible once it releases. Hopefully on Christmas Day, but I have a feeling the theaters are gonna be packed if I see it that day because everyone is off of work, so I feel like that may not work.
Yes, I’m glad that I didn’t put a posting schedule for my artwork, because I’d be even more stressed out if I didn’t get a drawing done. My art tends to take a few days to finish, but I completed my recent one a day later after starting. When I was obsessed with posting art online, I wanted to get the recording equipment so badly, mainly just a white light bulb to replace the yellow light I had and a phone stand, but I kind of realized it wasn’t going to be worth it in the end given that I didn’t have time to record art videos.
it’s cool you collect figures. I’m not a collector of figures or toys, but I think it sounds like a fun hobby. I’ve seen these really big figure collections on Instagram for specific characters that people put a lot of dedication and money out into them, and I love the passion people have for figure collecting. I would like to maybe own a figure or two or a plush of some of my favorite video game characters, but the good quality ones are so expensive. The only figure I have is a Funko pop of D.va from Overwatch when I was obsessed with that game years ago. I really wanted these Nendoroid figurines they made for some Overwatch characters (since they were far more detailed and closer to the original designs), but they were too expensive, so I had to settle on a Funko instead, though I’m not a fan of how Funko pops look.
Usually the lighting here is good in the morning, but it gets dark so fast it’s almost impossible to take photos of my art without the yellow light. It’s so annoying to do because it affects the colors of my art a lot and makes them look warmer and less vibrant. For some drawings it isn’t so visible when my art is filled with color, but for artwork that has some white showing, you can see the warm light. I posted this Conker drawing recently and took the picture in the warm light, but the drawing wasn’t affected by the warm light at all because the paper used a lot of colors and was filled up. For my original drawing though, because most of the paper was not colored, you could see the light making the paper look yellowish. I dislike it when it makes the paper look like that. In the past I’ve had sketchbooks that got ruined by being exposed to light for so long it caused them to yellow, so I have to avoid letting my drawings stay in yellow light for long. Yellowing can really make the paper look ugly and can ruin drawing a ton.
I love the fanart that Rare shares online and them complimenting the artists. Usually on my Instagram, I don’t get recommended fanarts of Rare characters since the site also doesn’t really recommend them to me but it’s also because I don’t search up any fanarts or tags pertaining to it. I usually just look at the posts and reels Instagram recommends me. I rarely use the search bar.
If I remember, are kaizos those Mario levels that are intentionally designed to be hard to play and complete and are super complex? I recall watching viral clips from a guy named Dashie playing kaizos people made in Super Mario Maker and it’s sequel, and I also think it’s so cool seeing people attempt to complete and play hard levels.
Yeah, I don’t think I really hear about competitive Smash anymore. I used to back when Ultimate was fresh and new, but now I don’t hear much about it. I think I also went on a Smash wiki at one point and read about some professional players who were well-known but retired. I learned a few competitive Smash terms and techniques like “homie stock” (intentionally sacrificing a stock if the opposing player accidentally self-destructs and loses a stock in a Stock match) and a sliding dash called moonwalking, but a lot of those are hard to accomplish using the controller, so I wasn’t able to pull a lot of those off. Competitive Smash is very complex, and it’s interesting to see how some people play the game.
For FEH, I did go on the wiki and they did go over all the main realms in mythology, and I didn’t realize some of the books covered more than one realm. In Norse mythology, they only have nine realms, though Yggdrasil in Book 8 wasn’t a realm from what I read, and is supposed to be the tree that connects all of the realms, but I don’t think that FEH acknowledged that Yggdrasil is what connects all the realms they showed in the game. I do wonder what they will do with the story once Book 9 is over since the books all adapted the nine Norse realms.
It really is unnecessary for adaptations to significantly change things up from the source material for no reason. There was this hilarious skit I watched and in that, an anime studio gets the rights to a turn a popular manga into an anime, but the studio head suggests that they make unnecessary changes to the anime (like changing the main cast into dogs) and the animator says something like “all we have to do is animate it, we already have the blueprints!” Although that video was hilarious, it’s so true, because sometimes cutting stuff out from film and anime adaptations can really ruin the film and lead to its downfall. There are probably a few more examples of that happening, but one example of an anime I heard of that suffered from that so badly was The Promised Neverland. I heard so many good things about the anime at first, but the second season apparently changed things a lot from the source material and rushed through the story, plus I heard it removed some characters and story arcs that it affected the show’s quality significantly.
I did hear about the Percy Jackson films planning on adapting all the books, but never finished. I am excited to see what the later seasons of the show will do, since they are now adapting the second book and are releasing it next year. I still need to finish the first season before I do that though, and I think I need to re-read the books soon. I enjoyed those a lot.
@Tyranexx It’s so cool with how some artists use lots of colors in their art. Usually I follow artists on Instagram who use a bunch of colors in their art; there is this pen artist who makes a ton of cool stuff with ballpoint pens and makes his art look colorful and I also follow this Sonic fan artist who makes his drawings of the characters super colorful. A lot of those artists inspire me a ton, and there are so many things I wanna draw and color vibrantly. I do maybe want to practice using plain colors again since it’s been a while, but I really have so many ideas on how I should color and shade using a bunch of colors. I feel like shading a color with a different color is super interesting, like having a shade of red but using blue to shade instead of a darker shade of red. There’s so many things I want to try and experiment a bunch with my art!
I was super interested in shooter games with cool looking characters with their own unique abilities and weapons, mainly coming from Overwatch and Splatoon, but my preference has changed to more cartoony-looking games with animal protagonists because of how much I played Rare’s platformer games. Banjo-Kazooie is what really changed my game tastes a lot and why I like platformers a ton, and after playing Conker’s Bad Fur Day, it really increased my love for platformers. I still do have some of the same tastes as I did years ago, like how I still like Vocaloid music and platformer fighters like Super Smash Bros.
Yeah, Crunchyroll is just kinda bad with its constant ads that make watching episodes a slog. I think YouTube’s ads are kind better but sometimes bad, but I’m glad that you can skip them after a few seconds compared to Crunchyroll, which doesn’t let you skip ads and you have to sit through all of them. I heard from some other users on here that Crunchyroll was way better back then, but it sounded like it’s only really good for its anime selection instead, though I’m bummed they don’t have the Yo-kai Watch anime on there.
So, curious, I've already forgotten the movies free on youtube that got recommended a few pages back. Remind me please if you care to?

Rare fanart would probably be really neat. I've yet to see any.
And kaizo originated as a sort of genre that's so brutally unfair, you'd basically be getting standard difficulty if you saved every 15 seconds to 1 minute ingame. So yeah. And since then, they've created harder...
Competitive smash is something I do rarely run across. For example, Nintendo did their own thing a couple years ago with score based ranking. Before that was a local tourney in 2019.
I dunno all the terms though.
@Mariotag The stuff that happened to that anime sounded like such a mess. I heard that some people weren’t huge fans of the ending they had for the manga, so people thought the anime would have a chance to fix it but it sounded like it’s had an even worse ending.
Yeah, I did kind of forget that some books featured more than one realm, like how Book 2 featured both Nifl and Múspell, and Book 4 featured the light and dark realm with the dream fairies. I forgot what the realms names were in that book though…
The fanart I have seen on there is cool, but it’s super rare (unintentional pun) that I come across it on social media. The only few times can remember was maybe three times if I don’t count Rare’s Fanart Friday posts. I also do remember seeing this cool Conker fanart on Twitter/X a few years ago by a popular artist, but I can’t even remember the name of the guy who drew it, but I know for sure it was super detailed and I liked it, given that Conker is super niche and I only see it get mentioned on occasions. Rare fanart pops up here and there for me, but not much, though, what I like on Instagram does influence what the app recommends me. Right now, the app recommends me a lot of Overwatch clips and gameplay. It is kind of entertaining to watch, but I don’t really get recommended art posts anymore, so I will probably reset my recommended feed and try to have the app recommend me more Rare posts, though it’s shocking it didn’t in the first place when I started using Instagram, given I follow Rare’s official account as well as two other N64 accounts that post Rare media as well as an artist that makes Banjo-Kazooie fanarts.
I see. Kaizos do sound interesting, but I know I’d get super mad and impatient if I played one lol. Besides Mario, are there any other kaizos some people made for other games? I know for sure Mario kaizos are the most popular.
I see. I haven’t even really heard of competitive Smash much this year. The few times I heard of it was that aforementioned Big House thing and the Panda Cup tournament circuit Nintendo officially licensed and supported after the Big House incident happened a few years ago. I’m not into competitive Smash so I also don’t know all of the terms, but those two are the ones I remember the most. I think I first saw that moonwalking thing in a YouTube clip compilation where a professional player went against a strong Banjo & Kazooie amiibo and I recall the amiibo fighter slid toward the player when he was hanging on the stage edge and KO’d him. I can’t remember the video, but I know the moonwalking slide thing looked unsettling and unusual but hilarious from how the amiibo approached the player.
@Pastellioli Yeahhh, I don't even know the ending of The Promised Neverland. Not an especially big fan of an anime fixing and ending after what I read about OG Yugioh though. Cause apparently, the final arc was originally fairly different. And there was more planned that got cut. Specifically, a civil war arc between Atem and Seto.. Which uhh, is kinda a big deal considering the rest of the series?
Ye, I just looked up the realms. All seem to be represented. Meaning if book 9 doesn't finish it, book 10 will probably be Ragnarok, and if that doesn't end it, we get to see a "new order" in another book.
Eh. I think I have yet to see Rare fanart on anywhere really. I don't use the apps. I just browse to the sites. Tbh, I would like to see the Conker art you mentioned.
Competitive smash was one of the few boons of where I live, because there isn't much of anything else. But that seems gone too now. The main scene died like, 9 years ago now. Scary to think how much time has passed.
I'm pretty sure there'd be a Zelda kaizo.
In terms of Mario kaizo though, imo, you should look up ProtonJon Kaizo special stage 2. (I recommend this to everybody)
Kaizo Mario 64 was a thing I tried but couldn't really get far in. Apparently you need all 120 stars to do the final battle, and one star was relocated to allow that.. But the stars are all in insane places. I remember the pyramid in particular, if you try entering normally, you spawn under a roller thing that just never lets you out. Not just instadeath, but insta game over.

For my last Might crystal, it was in an area in the Hebra region I didn't think was reachable. Turns out I was missing an accessory I found there too which would have been VERY useful sooner lol. I like collecting all the heart pieces overall, but I'm not a fan of some mini games for them.
I never got into Kingdom Hearts due to (formerly) platform constraints and how convoluted the series can supposedly be. And I'm not caving for the stream-only Switch versions either. On paper I'd like the series since I'm a Disney fan. A mobile only game sounds terrible though. What I don't like about streaming services is they often don't have a full series or trade off rights constantly. Between that and rising sub prices, I don't want to commit to anything. I do have Spotify premium, but I use it enough at work and in my car - I hate public stations due to the ads - to justify it. Visual streaming services are basically modern cable and satellite.
Some older Harry Potter games on the GBC and GBA were turn-based. Griptonite Games was responsible for those. That was back when EA only published the titles before moving HP development in-house sometime around Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.
@Pastellioli I don't use IG or much social media in general these days for various reasons, but I won't deny those are often great places to find creative ideas. Definitely explore as many of those ideas as you feasibly can! Within reason and try not to overwhelm yourself either lol.
I'd probably not dislike Splatoon since the series is different from most conventional shooters, but I don't think I'll invest in any of the games unless I find a copy ridiculously cheap. At least the franchise as well as Overwatch are different. I've always liked platformers, though overall I mostly prefer 2D platformers for nostalgia reasons. I do quite enjoy 3D Mario titles though. I do like the Smash series but never really got too into the titles. I owned a copy of Super Smash Bros. U for awhile and got some enjoyment out of the game, but I eventually sold it.
Most YT ads can eventually be skipped, but not all of them in my experience. Sometimes I'm in the middle of doing something else while watching/listening to something and can't manage to skip through the noise then. That stinks Crunchyroll ads can't be skipped at all. I'm surprised they don't have the Yo-Kai Watch anime on there. Not even Shadowside?
@Tyranexx I think your last might crystal was actually the same one as mine. That one on the second tier of Hebra, that gets detected when you're at the peak, which I actually got by climbing up cloud after cloud from the bottom until I reached the grouping of trees it was in?
Kingdom Hearts is convoluted for sure, but not really until after KH2. The fact that everything, from interviews, to stage plays, and yes, the mobile titles, is relevant, is actually kinda frustrating.
I'm genuinely frustrated with streaming type services. Yes, they don't have everything. Even the biggest streaming service here will still lack enough for you to have to go get at least 3-4 other services to catch what's available, which to top the issue off, is not everything. Unlike satellite and cable at least, you don't always have like, 5 minute ad breaks, and you can watch whatever, almost whenever. Meaning you don't constantly need to stay tuned.
Interesting. At one point, I was curious about a GBA Harry Potter. Speaking of, it's a genuine shame how the author has, I guess to be fair, fallen behind the times, as things are extremely different now than they were when the last movie released.

Changed my profile pic to some Smash Ultimate screenshot of Banjo. Found it in a gallery on a Smash wiki and thought the wintry colors and theme fit perfectly for the Christmas season, though I was having a hard time perfectly cropping it and it isn’t quite a holiday themed picture. I am probably going to change this again in a few weeks though.
Also, earlier today I was cleaning and found all my old artwork in an empty basket inside a closet and almost all the art looked bad lol. I had to trash quite a lot of them to make space, plus I don’t have sentimental attachment to a lot of the old art, but I retrieved all the sketchbooks and a few loose drawings so that I can look at my art progress later, but I’ll probably look through those again and trash a couple, but I’ll for sure keep the sketchbooks. Though, even though the art looked bad, it’s strange for me to say that I feel like my old art was more ambitious and experimental with the coloring and posing. Sometimes makes me wonder if my new art is a downgrade and far more stiffer and boring, but I shouldn’t think about that anymore because it’ll make me really upset.
@Mariotag That’s interesting. I think I have heard of anime’s changing the original endings of mangas, but usually to try and fix mistakes with the source material that people didn’t like, but it sounds like it doesn’t work a lot and ruins the anime even more.
I actually forgot about that Ragnarok event in Norse mythology! Actually, seeing the game maybe try and adapt that would be interesting to see, given that I read up a bit about it a few years ago and how it’s a major event in mythology. I am kinda surprised they haven’t gone on to that yet, and maybe you could be right with them saving it for a possible Book 10 after 9.
I really wish I remembered the name of the artist who made that Conker fanart I came across on Twitter before it was rebranded it to X and made it a requirement to make an account in order to view posts…the art looked so great! Usually, finding Conker fanart on social media is rare and there isn’t much because of the game being so obscure and niche, and Instagram has yet to recommend me any Conker or Rare fanart really, though the site has recommended me a few clips and footage from the game and the clips I was recommended in question had thousands of likes.
I wasn’t really into competitive Smash until 2021, which was when I had a big obsession with playing Smash, but it seems it was more popular back in the 2000s to early-2010s, was kind of popular in the late 2010s with Ultimate but the popularity appeared to die down later. I do wonder why it seems to be less popular now, but I think that when they release another Smash game, there might be some more popularity for competitive Smash. I always hear that Melee is the most preferred one for competitive play though.

@Tyranexx Instagram has plenty of creative artists and accounts, I also think YouTube does as well. I sometimes use an app called Pinterest for art and the ideas and artwork on there are so creative, though an issue I have with that is how there’s a bunch of reposted and stolen artwork and no one bothers crediting a few of the artists. When I have so many ideas, I jump back and forth between them. I could start sketching something for a big drawing, but then go to another empty page and start sketching something else. There’s so many things I want to make and tackle and I always imagine how fun it’ll be to draw.
Yeah, both Splatoon and Overwatch are different, I only found them similar from some of the game modes and then both being shooters. I usually enjoy 3D platformers that have some cheeky humor and charm to it like Rare’s games. I got into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate a lot, but wasn’t super into playing it back then. I did also have Super Smash Bros. for WiiU but wasn’t super into it, but when I had Ultimate I was playing it so much in 2021 and even nearly completed the game’s spirit collection from all the free time I had lol. I still have a copy of for WiiU, but I haven’t played that or the WiiU in a good while. I remember a lot about the game though, like there being this board game-like mode and the trophies. Sad those both didn’t get carried over to Ultimate.
Crunchyroll is maybe the first time I’ve seen ads being done so terribly with how many your given and the fact there is no option to skip. Yep, to my dismay back a few months ago the site doesn’t have any of the Yo-kai Watch anime’s or films. I would have liked if they did when I was enjoying the Yo-kai Watch games a few months ago.
