@D-Star92 I'm the same way. The few times it snowed, I opened my curtains, let the snow fall, and played some classic games. It's been too cold, with the temperature's low hitting -7 the other night. But it's been nice inside. The sidewalk nearby isn't cleaned anyway so I can't really go for my walks. As soon as it's clean, and the temps aren't teens or below, I will go on my walk.
Yeah, similarly I watched a PlayStation showcase years ago, and I got nothing from it. It just looked boring to me. Whereas Nintendo's Directs has games, and the Xbox showcase has PC games. I think it was called Freddi Fish and Luther's Maze Madness. It was like Pac-Man and had lots of levels. Instead of dots, Freddi collected kelp seeds. Fun game, it's even on Steam.
Awesome! That's a classic I never heard of.
I think I made it to the end, the raft level escaping Monstro. Disney, please re-release Pinocchio, I mean they're re-releasing their other games. I have Aladdin for SNES on PC now thanks to their classic games collection. Indeed, to think we have Nintendo Classics and Xbox Game Pass now, and Sega did the service thing back in the mid-90's. Cool, I still need to try the SNES Mega Man game on my SNES Mini.

I've been playing some FFXIV again, on Steam Deck this time, and it runs really well. Since it was also designed for consoles and mouse/kb from the start, it controls like a dream.
Given that it runs so well on SD I feel Square really should release it on Switch 2 (as has been hinted at), it should have no problems running it. It will likely suffer some slowdown in big cities with multiple dozens of players around much like the SD, but I don't think anyone will be bothered by that. The game is also very friendly towards variable latency — I've played on both 5G and my local wifi without any issues, solo and in parties.
@Sunsy That's nice. I love the feeling of being all nice and warm while it's snowing outside. It's a wonderful, comfy-cozy feeling to me, especially since I love Christmastime and that I was born during the winter. I might be a little weird for this, but I like to jokingly say "Merry Christmas!" every time it snows. I'm the same way too, I go for walks when it's not too cold out.
It just goes to show how I miss the old PlayStation. The PS1 and PS2 had games that felt like games to me, and not like live-action dramas or something, lol. Oh nice, that does look like it would be fun. I do like a good Pac-Man game and I remember Freddi Fish from my childhood.
Glad I told you about it then! I would like to give The Incredible Machine another try one day.
That'd be great for sure. I would love to see the Mickey Mouse Magical Quest games get rereleases as well, those look like they would be a lot of fun. Didn't they put Aladdin for the SNES in the collection later on as a software update? I know that one was made by Capcom (who also made the Magical Quest series). You should for sure, Mega Man X is a really good game. And I say that as someone who has been a Mega Man fan for a good long while now.

So, I booted up my Wii U and played Star Fox Zero for the first time in years today.
@D-Star92 Nah, that sounds like a fun joke to say. Similarly when it snows, I turn on Christmas lights in my bedroom. I usually keep my bedroom lights up and use them throughout the winter on some days.
Yeah, there was so much variety with games on PlayStation in the past. I remember all the games I played on my brother's PlayStation. Now it feels like they just release The Last of Us over and over. Yes, Nintendo does re-releases, and so does Xbox, but these feel like years apart, rather than every couple of years. That's how I felt, it felt like I was watching dramas with that presentation. Cool, it might be something you may like.
Yeah, that's one I didn't know about. GOG even said Disney published it. Though checking Moby Games (I usually check this to look at info, box art, screenshots, etc), it's a Sierra game.
They did, as a DLC, the GOG version didn't include DLC rather combined the games into one package. I have the SNES version of Aladdin for PC thanks to this one. I'm glad too, since that game was the Disney game from my childhood. Funnily enough, I beaten it and remembered where to go after years of not playing it. I'll try to, I've been on a SNES kick lately. Playing games on Nintendo Classics (I've gotten good at Tuff E Nuff, that game with the weird box art that calls you a "punk," lol), and dusted off my SNES Mini recently.
@Sunsy Lol I'm glad you think so! It's become a running joke on my end. Let me know when it snows in your area so I can wish you a very Merry Christmas. 🎄 Maybe we can have hot chocolate and watch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas and Trolls Holiday in Harmony together, haha. That's really cool you have Christmas lights in your bedroom, I wonder how you set them up?
Yeah definitely, I'd play stuff like Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Crash Bandicoot on my PS2 when it was current. It was backwards compatible with PS1 games, so I had access to more games as well, and I never even had a PS1 back then! I think so too, I think Nintendo's been having a balance between rereleases and new games. A lot of those rereleases on the Switch were from the Wii U, I suspect games like Mario Kart 8 were brought over to the Switch since the Wii U didn't sell too well.
I did see that too. I guess Disney got the rights to that game or something, lol. I'm pretty curious about Crystal Caves as well.
Ah gotcha, cool to see the GOG version compiled all the games. That's awesome. No rush or anything on Mega Man X by the way, do play it at your leisure once you're in the mood to try it out. If you liked Mega Man 2 on the NES, I think you'll like this one as well.

@Nep-Nep-Freak i feel like it should be obvious to everyone that it is hard to justify not liking people outside of the binary. it has no business being in comment sections on the internet, as it benefits noone and if anything may be a downer to those who are lgbtq.
most of those comments you see i doubt were truly respectful - they were removed for a reason. people just want people to accept each other. "personally i'm just not a big fan of things like that" is usually just a thin veil to pretend you're less bigoted than you actually are.
expressing yourself as who you are comfortable to be should not be opinionated. it should be a fact of life.

"expressing yourself as who you are comfortable to be should not be opinionated. it should be a fact of life."
I agree. I was not trying to stop either side from expressing themselves. I did not agree with any comment removals from either side of the argument. As a matter of fact, in case you didn't get to read some of my later comments in the article (before they were removed), I was trying to get both sides to have an honest conversation. That's why I was a bit mad when I was posting the post earlier up on this page: I was mad about my attempt at being the middleman being denied.
Also, the first comment was not disrespectful to lgbtq people in any way. It was basically along the lines of "I don't like that this option exists in the game", which doesn't sound much different from complaining about a game being on a Game Key Card or complaining and fear mongering about AI in game development. That person was not talking about real life non-binary people at all.
Anyway, even though I was mad for a while, I did get over it, and I even apologized about my behavior (being snarky because I felt that other people were being snarky) two days later in the "what are you playing" comments section.
I just wanted both sides to have an honest conversation. Heck, if you read my comment that wasn't removed in the Tomodachi Life article, I mention that I actually like the fact that there are more options. The more options the better, I always say. If an honest conversation had been allowed to happen, I probably would've injected myself in and tried to convince both sides that the whole thing is really not worth fighting over, and explaining that thanks to the fact that there are so many options in the game, you can play the game without any non-binary miis at all if you prefer, or, if you prefer, you can have them. I really do think that if people were allowed to have more honest conversations online instead of comments about the topic being removed a lot, then the two sides would begin to settle their differences. I'm just starting to get tired of playing the middleman when it comes to a lot of issues. Being the middleman is painful. And it's not going to get any less painful as long as attempts at being the middleman keep being blocked. This is why I stay out of most political conversations nowadays 😔. I just can't stand it.

@Nep-Nep-Freak you have to know something about that other side online:
they do not care for the middleman. they would see you effectively the same as someone wholly supporting lgbtq, and people supporting it see you the same as the other side.
also, criticizing options relating to gender or sexuality can have the same effect to many as hating on an actual queer person. in fact, it may end up feeling worse because it feels like someone is denying that the option to express yourself that way is anything but good. it is not comparable to ai - art is a very big part of many's lives, but almost nothing beats out the way you identify yourself. anything that feels like pushback on an already oppressed group, especially in the u.s., just makes you feel awful, even if it's as small as a bunch of people online generically "disliking" it.
basically, i'm just warning you: they won't listen to you. the internet is not the place to try and push bigots to the friendlier side. it's best that you don't "compromise" because it is nigh impossible to convince people like that to think differently. your efforts are better spent elsewhere.
remember; your chicken parm is not safe around me!
I will continue to (not?) compromise because I don't ascribe to radicals of any kind, nor do I like to let myself be lumped in with amorphous groups, labels and causes. But I also respect any individual website's moderation; not everywhere is (nor needs to be) the arena for cultural battles or other controversial topics.
@D-Star92 Sounds like a plan. No snow, but I'm getting single digits temperatures tonight. I do, the Christmas lights are set up by my window, with the curtain closed.
Indeed, thinking of the PlayStation games I played, I liked the Crash games, Spyro, Jet Moto, even Twisted Metal 2. Indeed, I still don't have many Wii U re-releases outside Mario Kart 8, Tokyo Mirage Sesions, and Super Mario 3D World. Again, I still play my Wii U from time to time. Booted it up the other day for Star Fox Zero.
I have Crystal Caves, it was fun. It was a platformer from what I remember, it's been years since I've played it. It's an old Apogee game. Another good one was Monster Bash, although I had to resort to the included tips sheet for a cheat since it was hard. I just play it around Halloween for fun.
Will do, I did enjoy Mega Man 2 on Wii when I played it.

anyone ever ate at the Wendy's fast food place? their food any good?
I barely eat fast food, but I do like their spicy chicken sandwich. If it's the rare time I do eat fast food, I usually like having their spicy chicken sandwich and fries.
Most of the time if I do eat out, it's usually my monthly trip to my local pizzeria for two slices and a soda.

In my view, it's not as good as Chick-fil-A, but better than McDonald's (all three are good btw).
