@Tyranexx I think your last might crystal was actually the same one as mine.
That one on the second tier of Hebra, that gets detected when you're at the peak, which I actually got by climbing up cloud after cloud from the bottom until I reached the grouping of trees it was in?
Kingdom Hearts is convoluted for sure, but not really until after KH2. The fact that everything, from interviews, to stage plays, and yes, the mobile titles, is relevant, is actually kinda frustrating.
I'm genuinely frustrated with streaming type services. Yes, they don't have everything. Even the biggest streaming service here will still lack enough for you to have to go get at least 3-4 other services to catch what's available, which to top the issue off, is not everything. Unlike satellite and cable at least, you don't always have like, 5 minute ad breaks, and you can watch whatever, almost whenever. Meaning you don't constantly need to stay tuned.
Interesting. At one point, I was curious about a GBA Harry Potter. Speaking of, it's a genuine shame how the author has, I guess to be fair, fallen behind the times, as things are extremely different now than they were when the last movie released.

It’s late here but I wanna say hi how are you all doing? What has everyone been up to?

Changed my profile pic to some Smash Ultimate screenshot of Banjo. Found it in a gallery on a Smash wiki and thought the wintry colors and theme fit perfectly for the Christmas season, though I was having a hard time perfectly cropping it and it isn’t quite a holiday themed picture. I am probably going to change this again in a few weeks though.

Also, earlier today I was cleaning and found all my old artwork in an empty basket inside a closet and almost all the art looked bad lol. I had to trash quite a lot of them to make space, plus I don’t have sentimental attachment to a lot of the old art, but I retrieved all the sketchbooks and a few loose drawings so that I can look at my art progress later, but I’ll probably look through those again and trash a couple, but I’ll for sure keep the sketchbooks. Though, even though the art looked bad, it’s strange for me to say that I feel like my old art was more ambitious and experimental with the coloring and posing. Sometimes makes me wonder if my new art is a downgrade and far more stiffer and boring, but I shouldn’t think about that anymore because it’ll make me really upset.

@Mariotag That’s interesting. I think I have heard of anime’s changing the original endings of mangas, but usually to try and fix mistakes with the source material that people didn’t like, but it sounds like it doesn’t work a lot and ruins the anime even more.

I actually forgot about that Ragnarok event in Norse mythology! Actually, seeing the game maybe try and adapt that would be interesting to see, given that I read up a bit about it a few years ago and how it’s a major event in mythology. I am kinda surprised they haven’t gone on to that yet, and maybe you could be right with them saving it for a possible Book 10 after 9.

I really wish I remembered the name of the artist who made that Conker fanart I came across on Twitter before it was rebranded it to X and made it a requirement to make an account in order to view posts…the art looked so great! Usually, finding Conker fanart on social media is rare and there isn’t much because of the game being so obscure and niche, and Instagram has yet to recommend me any Conker or Rare fanart really, though the site has recommended me a few clips and footage from the game and the clips I was recommended in question had thousands of likes.

I wasn’t really into competitive Smash until 2021, which was when I had a big obsession with playing Smash, but it seems it was more popular back in the 2000s to early-2010s, was kind of popular in the late 2010s with Ultimate but the popularity appeared to die down later. I do wonder why it seems to be less popular now, but I think that when they release another Smash game, there might be some more popularity for competitive Smash. I always hear that Melee is the most preferred one for competitive play though.

Wow, that’s a lot. Kaizos seem interesting, I’ll probably read up on those more for fun.

@Tyranexx Instagram has plenty of creative artists and accounts, I also think YouTube does as well. I sometimes use an app called Pinterest for art and the ideas and artwork on there are so creative, though an issue I have with that is how there’s a bunch of reposted and stolen artwork and no one bothers crediting a few of the artists. When I have so many ideas, I jump back and forth between them. I could start sketching something for a big drawing, but then go to another empty page and start sketching something else. There’s so many things I want to make and tackle and I always imagine how fun it’ll be to draw.

Yeah, both Splatoon and Overwatch are different, I only found them similar from some of the game modes and then both being shooters. I usually enjoy 3D platformers that have some cheeky humor and charm to it like Rare’s games. I got into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate a lot, but wasn’t super into playing it back then. I did also have Super Smash Bros. for WiiU but wasn’t super into it, but when I had Ultimate I was playing it so much in 2021 and even nearly completed the game’s spirit collection from all the free time I had lol. I still have a copy of for WiiU, but I haven’t played that or the WiiU in a good while. I remember a lot about the game though, like there being this board game-like mode and the trophies. Sad those both didn’t get carried over to Ultimate.

Crunchyroll is maybe the first time I’ve seen ads being done so terribly with how many your given and the fact there is no option to skip. Yep, to my dismay back a few months ago the site doesn’t have any of the Yo-kai Watch anime’s or films. I would have liked if they did when I was enjoying the Yo-kai Watch games a few months ago.

Hoosha...!
I watched WICKED movie for the FIFTH times just now.
I slowly liking the movie as I get into their musical songs and my score about WICKED from 7/10 become 9/10.
Curious to see what will looks like the movie version of part 2.
Will we see Nessarose got crushed by Dorothy's house literally?
Will we see the funny cat fight of Glinda and Elphaba at corn field after Nessarose got killed?
Will we see Elphaba faking her death by "melting"?
Will we see Dorothy in part 2?
Can't wait on the next year.

@Pastellioli Yeah, imo, the Yugioh anime could have had the FMA Brotherhood treatment, where it just got redone to better fit the manga. Cause not only was the arc changed, but apparently not the ending, the anime itself started midway through. In case you weren't aware, "The Brotherhood Treatment", is basically like, an anime catches up to the source material, and comes up with its own, different ending to avoid what happened to the likes of Naruto and Bleach (and Boruto. I'm astounded that there's an anime some 290+ episodes long to adapt 80 chapters of manga, plus four side stories, and it doesn't even finish...)
So said anime just gets a redo after the manga ends. In the case of Bleach in particular, some stuff got skipped or changed in the manga, as the person creating it suffered an injury and needed to finish (way too common for manga ppl), so the anime is adapting the final manga arc with these changes added in. Hopefully and then some.
Do you have to pay to make a twitter account now? I forget.
And yeah. Ragnarok is coming. Loki has that smile on her face in the opening movie. She knows what she's doing.
Kaizos are crazy. You looked up the video? Unfortunately, apparently, twitch's rules don't allow savestates, so the classic youtube kaizos are a no go.
Smash has been interesting. Melee was the first huge release, as the N64 game was a budget title that Sakurai made into a phenomenon. The Falcon Punch meme came from that one I'm pretty sure.
Melee did have a number of glitches though, some intentional. For competitive play as today sees it, you need to abuse these "techniques", one or two notable of which were actually caught in development, and they decided to leave in. Brawl was good, but it had the tripping mechanic, and floaty physics, which, to their credit, actually helped me learn how to play the game without relying on specials. Smash 4 3ds and Wii U were neat. First games in the series to have patches and dlc. My situation between Wii U and ult is actually the opposite of yours. I fully finished the Wii U game. All dlc, all challenge board objectives, done in a race no less. The 3ds version's smash run is a unique mode that ult shoulda expanded on. The way I see it, Ultimate is lacking in modes. There's the missing Smash Run ofc, too many characters to have a proper All-Star Mode, the Adventure mode just steals the idea of event match, and sticks a variant into a board map instead of being its own thing.
Having a boss fight mode like Brawl would be cool too. Especially if there were a mode where you could play as the bosses. Ultimate just lacked a certain something, and even 3ds/Wii U could easily be seen as a downgrade from the insanity of Brawl. Two discs would be needed almost, said Sakurai. Weekdaily updates for almost a year. Message boards exploding. THAT was an era.

@Mariotag I haven’t watched Fullmetal Alchemist, but I have heard of that “Brotherhood Treatment” thing a bit. I hear Fullmetal mentioned a lot in conversations about anime’s changing the story or ending instead of using the ending used in the source material. I also heard of manga artists getting injuries while they work and it’s unfortunate. Manga artists being overworked or working too much is very common from some videos I watched. I never read it, but I heard that a popular manga series called Hunter x Hunter has gone on multiple hiatuses because the creator has unfortunately suffered from injuries and health problems. He even said that he couldn’t sit in a chair for two years because of hip problems and had to draw lying down. It’s sad that I hear about a ton of manga artists going through a ton of injuries while drawing and writing their manga series.

That’ll be exciting. I really want to see what direction they’ll take when they adapt Ragnarok. I am surprised they haven’t introduced some other well-known Norse figures like Odin into Heroes yet.

I haven’t yet, but the clips I saw in the past where that streamer named Dashie played a few Mario Maker kaizos are insane with the level design. I sometimes see these rooms that consist of just spikes and he has to grab a Super Star and run as fast as he can to the next door before the invincibility wears off, plus a lot of times the levels he plays has these invisible item boxes put around the place that he accidentally hits and it causes him to fall. Not to mention in those kaizos you have to complete them without using a Super Mushroom. Kaizos are really crazy!

I searched up and there isn’t a requirement to pay to make an account on Twitter, but you have to pay to use some features. I could find that specific Conker image on Pinterest, since some Twitter artwork is linked on there, but my main issue with Pinterest is how some people upload images without putting in links and not crediting the artists. I found some good art on there and I definitely have a ton more inspiration, but some of the artwork was reposted without permission. I remember seeing this cool stylized artwork of Marina from Splatoon and the artist clearly put “do not repost” on the artwork and someone still put it up on Pinterest anyway. In fact, I think that’s a concern a lot of people have with that site and I agree.

I think I have played some of Melee, but never played Brawl. I see, so the glitches in Melee is why it’s preferred a lot in competitive play! It’s interesting that they did find glitches when making it but left them in, usually during game development, they deal with any glitches they find to ensure it does not mess with the final product.

I only played the WiiU version of Smash instead of the 3DS version, but I have heard of Smash Run before, I think it was exclusive to that version instead. I nearly did 100% Ultimate, but I’m missing some DLC fighters (Terry, Min Min, and Piranha Plant, though I’m not super interested in playing as those three) and a few spirits (including Fighter Spirits) plus the Mii costume DLCs and the images on the Challenge Board.

I did think World of Light was okay, but you aren’t wrong in saying the map was more akin to a board game rather than an actual Adventure mode/Single-player mode, and the bosses were okay. The criticisms that one got mainly came from the fact that it’s premise with the fighters being absorbed by light and needing to be rescued so that they can team up and defeat Galeem is interesting but that the fighters don’t interact with each other and the lack of cutscenes, plus the fact I hear it was a downgrade of the Subspace Emissary mode in Brawl, which I heard was really good and actually had the fighters interact with each other; I have seen some cutscenes for that and it looks so cool seeing them all doing stuff with each other. I think the only kind of interaction World of Light has with the fighters is the opening cutscene, and if it counts, maybe the Sephiroth reveal trailer that takes place during World of Light. I got all the endings and I rescued all the fighters and spirits, but I think my completion progress was stuck at 99.78% or so. I don’t know what I’m missing to fully get 100%. I don’t want to start New Game+ until I get 100% one day. Again I still though World of Light was fine (though I had more fun with it when I was playing Smash Ultimate almost daily) but I still think they could have done more with it.

I'll do just one reply from my notifications this time to get that out of the way for the time being, plus life's been very busy for me. I'll get to the other folks for sure.

@Pastellioli Good to hear you've been comfortable with the game's songs. I probably would have quit playing online after like a few tries, since that quitting issue seems too often. It's that Hatsune Miku rhythm game for mobile devices, right? The closest thing I've played was one of the Dance Dance Revolution games, though I can only do the easy songs, lol.

Yeah, Salmon Run gets much, much harder the more sessions you clear. I've gotten frustrated with it too. Plus I get discouraged to keep going because my rank bar in SR keeps decreasing. I did do great in the Big Run before the Grand Festival though, and even got gold in it. I must have had some amazing luck in it.

Yeah the disconnects hurt worse in the Ranked/Anarchy Battles. At least with Turf Wars, maybe that would count as a loss, but that's about it, and you're not losing any rank points or what have you. Good to hear your internet is better.

I've heard of Brawlhalla, but have not played it. I've not played as Hero too much besides in Classic Mode. That menu thing that Hero uses, I don't think I'll ever get used to, lol. I suck at using Rosalina as well, despite liking the Super Mario Galaxy games, haha. She's a surprisingly advanced character since Luma's always with her, you're essentially playing as two characters at once. My best Fire Emblem character in Smash Bros. is Roy. He's pretty similar to Marth, but more powerful and just a little slower - I actually prefer Roy over Marth. I do like how Banjo and Kazooie are in Smash, too. Plus I appreciate how they have their original character designs instead of the Nuts & Bolts ones.

@Pastellioli Imo, Odin is probably the celestial king.
Huh. You don't have to pay to make an account? That's a relief. As for images being taken, I keep a stash of images I download. I never share them. If I'm to share an image, it'd be with the original post. AI is also a concerning issue for artists.
You...haven't played Brawl? You..missed out on...one of the 2/3 best games in the franchise? Only saw some cutscenes of SSE? Dude! (Assuming you are a dude anyway) Go out and get a copy!
And yeah. Manga creators get injured too often. From what I understand, it's because Japan has an insanely strong work ethic. If you gotta drop to do your job, you drop. FMA was interesting. Out of the 51 episodes in the OG, only the first 25 or so were mainly adapted from the manga. Past that point, itn hit a bunch of the same beats, manga characters mostly got introduced, and even the ending had some similarity, but it was all very different. And I have heard of Hunter X Hunter. It's a series I'm waiting for to end before I try it.
Kaizo is absolutely insane. But you won't get the full experience just watching Super Mario Maker kaizo, as those did not allow for tool assistance.
I don't think I got all the Mii outfits in Ult. Or in Wii U. 3ds was indeed the game with smash run. Shame it was only one map though.
In my play of World of Light, it definitely did NOT help I tried doing most of the first map without "cheating" (i.e, using spirits). After that, it was still draining. I do remember some things being hard to find, such as the lost woods puzzle. Idk about Sephiroth reveal tbh. Anyway, I did greatly enjoy the penultimate battle, which sadly, you can't redo.
Possibly my biggest issue with WoL is, it took two of the best game modes from prior games, and mashed them together to create something more or less mediocre, or if not that, just "okay".

@MarioVillager92 The song selection is so great, but the Japanese version has so many more. The global and Japanese version are separate and released at different times, so the global version is behind on content. Yes, the game is for phones! It’s pretty fun but I need to go back to it and play some new songs they released because I haven’t been playing for weeks.

The rewards you get in Salmon Run are so good, but the difficulty getting harder in 2 made some matches overwhelming. I never got to higher difficulty in 3 since I didn’t play it as much as 2, so matches were easy. Sorry you get frustrated when playing.

When I play harder matches, it’s kind of a risk when I get into matches because there is a half chance me and my team will win but also a half chance we will lose. In 2, I actually got to both S- rank and S+ rank in all of the Ranked Modes and while it was still fun, some matches were pretty hard and I got pretty close to losing my rank a few times since the bar will crack the more matches you lose and you have to pass this yellow line to ensure you keep your rank when the bar shatters, not to mention that I only played 2 for the Ranked matches once I got my rank up to S, so if I did lose my S rank, I’d be pretty upset. I think my rank bar for Splat Zones has a ton of cracks and it is nearly broken, plus I didn’t go past the yellow line, so I stopped playing Splat Zones, not to mention I found that mode is more harder (and kinda unfun) compared to other modes like Rainmaker and Clam Blitz. I could never get to X rank, plus I know that’d be super hard.

The disconnects from Ranked are way worse than Turf War, mainly cuz Ranked affects your rank and decreases it a bunch if you leave. I am glad my internet is running smoother, but it does have occasional lag.

I didn’t find Rosalina hard to play as, but the Ice Climbers were super hard for me since they become weaker and easier to KO when the other Ice Climber is KO’d or falls off stage, plus their recovery for getting back on stage was hard for me to control. Most of the Fire Emblem characters are easy for me to use, but I always thought Robin was super slow to use; I used to main Robin back in Smash WiiU alongside Lucina, as well as Pit, but I’m surprised I never had issues using Robin, but it’s probably because I didn’t use a lot of lightweight characters back then. Kazuya is difficult since I think he requires a lot of inputs like a traditional fighting game, and I couldn’t get used to using Steve’s building skills and using them effectively. I found Hero’s menu thing kind of easy to use, but it’s randomly generated and you have to act fast when you have the menu up so your not vulnerable to attacks from opponents. I usually prefer to use characters that are straightforward and have simple movesets, so I stick to swordfighters or characters that rely on fighting without a weapon.

I also do like how they chose to have Banjo and Kazooie’s designs resemble their original N64 designs rather than the Nuts and Bolts designs. While I think Nuts and Bolts art style isn’t the worst, I think Banjo and Kazooie look slightly unappealing with their redesigns, though I think most of it comes from the eyes being smaller and less big. A fun fact about that game is that they initially planned to use the same art style as the N64 games and made higher quality models of them during development, but they thought the models looked less charming with the Xbox’s detailed graphics, so they made several redesigns before settling on a cuboid-esque design for them. There was footage I saw in a video showing the original models that resembled the N64 designs, but the models weren’t finished, rendered or colored.

@Mariotag I used to screenshot some images and kept them on my phone, but I don’t do that anymore because I find it can take up space over time. I just either go on Instagram or Pinterest and bookmark an artwork I like or am heavily inspired by. It’s easier and faster when I do that.

Though, the only time I screenshot images is when I’m picking an avatar on NL. Usually when I use the original images and save them to my phone and then have the site crop the picture, the photo is either too big or cropped weird, so I just crop it to something smaller until I think my avatar looks good, though one time I did have a GIF as an avatar, but it took me so long to have it work; I screenrecorded a gameplay video, trimmed the runtime and tried putting it on NL, but it was too big space-wise, so I had to turn it into a GIF and turn the quality low. The video was off-center but I couldn’t fix it. Whenever I am going to choose an image for my avatar, I instead use either screenshots from video games or official renders of video game characters, but it’s so hard for me to choose because of the many characters I like.

I do hear about Japan’s work ethic being like that and how much it negatively affects workers. I also hear it’s really bad for anime studios. I hear Hunter x Hunter is pretty good, though there’s a ton of anime and manga I always hear are good but I never watched or read them. Some popular ones I have watched are JoJo and Jujutsu Kaisen. I liked those though only watched the first seasons.

I didn’t get most of the Mii Fighter costumes, including the DLC ones. I did all of the battles with Spirits, but some were difficult even with spirits equipped. World of Light is super hard to play without Spirits. It’s easier now that I have almost all of the Spirits and can create good Spirit teams, but I know there are some people who are really good at playing without Spirits. I did start a second file for World of Light, but I got stuck in the Lost Woods map. I think the huge map in World of Light being a combination of different locations from various games could have been super fun and interesting if they were playable stages and you actually battled in them instead of walking around the locations like in a board game. The part near the final battle where you control Master Hand and fight off the hordes of enemies was definitely one of the best parts of the mode, and I kind of liked it when you prepare for the final battle and pick three rescued fighters and progress toward Galeem or Dharkhon (or both) while briefly battling off evil fighter copies they both made. It is disappointing you have to get near the end of the game to get to it and can’t replay the Master Hand segment unless you start another file and nearly complete it. A lot of people agree that was one of the best parts of World of Light. I feel like World of Light had a great premise and cool setting, but in retrospect after my Smash Bros. craze, I think World of Light was okay. Most of my issues come from how the setting and map act more like a board game and it’s just Spirit fight after Spirit fight for most of the mode, though they did put in a few nice boss battles in certain locations.
