@Pastellioli The closest I typically get is what state/general part of the US I live in, and that isn't something I spout about often either. Some areas of my state are pretty populated, but I'm located in a more rural area. The closest major city many could probably point out on a map is about a two hour drive away. Not as remote as some, but I have to drive a fair distance for some chain stores that people take for granted (Ex. Target, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble).
Exactly: The primary difference is with the intentions. General anonymity is common sense IMO, plus there are some genuinely nasty people out there who can do all sorts of things with public information. I honestly worry about some of today's kids since they've never known the world without the internet. Which was also a thing in my early years, but I didn't have sorta normal internet access (Yay dial-up!) until I was in late junior high. I was old enough by then to understand the importance of anonymity, not to mention I think the internet was...well, probably not safe even then, but there were less dangerous options I think, plus social media was in its infancy. I only ever used it for homework, game news, and related forums.
Sadly, the internet is also full of many echo chambers. Woe is someone for having an opinion different than some circles - and this applies to more than just gaming too. I don't think the art of reasonable debate and disagreement is dead, but it definitely has faded in some areas. Human biases will always be a thing, but all the tribalism frankly drives me crazy.
@Nintoz Congratulations! It's always such a relief when a block of exams is finished.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Good morning.
Today is our 79th anniversary of Independence Day in my country Indonesia. ☺
I used the screenshot from ACNH to celebrate Independence Day.
@Pastellioli I think many use the #FanArtFriday hashtag. The DreamWorks account from another region found my trolls artwork that way too, lol. It also helps if you tag them in the post.
Indeed, it's a great cartoon. Come to think of it, I didn't watch the movie for ugly Sonic, I think I saw the article here about him, but it's been so long since I actually saw the movie and the article. I still remember the day I saw the original Sonic, I just shrugged it off as "Hollywood is being Hollywood to video games, again," then that second trailer came out. I really hope we get something on the next Sonic movie soon, can't wait to hear how Keanu does Shadow's voice.
Yeah, it's like having no rules makes it harder for people to behave which leads to suspensions and bans. Indeed, it's mods that help keep the forum safe, as well as having rules getting enforced. Can't count how many times I've seen a thread locked for advertising here, all because the person who just made the account, didn't bother reading the Community Rules that's linked at the bottom.
@Tyranexx Me too, I really just like going to theaters because it makes a movie feel like going to an event, rather than simply watching it at home. Trolls Band Together early access did not disappoint, both movie and the audience there. I don't think I'd ever been to a place with that many Trolls fans. Usually at home it's either on the few streaming services I have (Netflix and Peacock, I have the latter for WWE, but I also watch movies and shows on it) or DVDs, sometimes YouTube, I get surprised by some of the movies found under the "Free With Ads" category of movies.
Local theaters can be the best, few summers ago my friend and I saw a special summer showing of Trolls World Tour (a movie that skipped theaters had a showing in my area), and we ended up watching it at one of the oldest theaters in the state. I would not be surprised if it's considered a historic landmark, it's turning 100 in 2026.
@MarioVillager92 Neat, I have a friend who lives in Florida and I hope he gets to go to Super Nintendo World once it comes to Orlando. He's visiting at the end of the month, we usually play and talk games together. I use to see him regularly until he moved away, then it was online gaming. I want to visit Disney now. After meeting Poppy at Trolls x CAMP, I want to meet more of my favorite characters, both Disney and Universal, lol. That's alright, I really liked Star Fox Assault. Those foot missions worked better under the dual joystick setting rather than default controls. The story of Star Fox Assault had a lot of twists and turns I didn't even see coming, even a post credits ending.
They are easier to take care of. A lot of Disney movies for example, the Blu-Ray comes with the Blu-Ray, DVD, and a Digital Code. I register it with Movies Anywhere, and it goes onto any linked account. I could watch the movie on my phone, my Switch via YouTube. Universal does the same, as it was the same case with the Trolls movies. Plus, it puts less wear and tear on the DVD and Blu-Ray discs, and player, but I still have the DVD and Blu-Ray if I can't use the digital copy. It is easier to stream too. Yup, I even have Genesis games on my GBA with the Sega Smash Pack, Sega Arcade Gallery, and Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis, I have the Sonic Classic Collection on DS, and the 3D ones on 3DS. Sega has always been good at keeping most of their classics available in some form.
It was like some theaters got them, but not all theaters got them. Shame too since Disney rarely does re-releases of movies. Though, I could always find Illumination and DreamWorks movies shown during the summer months, that's how I saw Trolls World Tour in a theater.
It should have, Sonic games always start out with a Green Hill Zone of sorts. It was so weird to start the game and see "Underground Zone," lol. Ah yes, the spindash the loop to break the ground. I know one thing that would make a Sonic fan scream... the barrel of doom in Carnival Night Zone Act 2. How was I suppose to know I needed to press up and down? I was jumping trying to make it move.
Indeed, it was a really cool feature they added to both Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Adventure DX. I feel the same way, being bullied as a kid was not fun. I was made fun of for liking Rugrats as a kid, the irony, everyone watched Rugrats when they were kids. Made no sense if I'm being honest.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
Thought I would pop in here and say hi again. I’m finally drawing again…and screwing up a bit lol but I am still going to try my best. It’s super hard for me to trust the process, but this time I’m going to try to since I haven’t drawn in a while. Hoping I can get the art done tomorrow or today and share it on one of the threads! Wish me luck
@Tyranexx You should see how people treat opinions on sites like Twitter, that place is one of the worst places you could every share your feelings on a piece of media or pretty much anything, especially if it’s big. Even if you give a logic explanation on your opinion and how you feel on something, there will always be people who harshly reject your opinion and don’t respect it, or someone lurking in the back, ready to find your personal info and leak it just because you said you didn’t like the Mario games and like a more obscure platformer game series. But I think it can also be people jumping to conclusions on someone’s opinion.
There was this tweet that I saw that would sometimes see around on the web version of Twitter (before they made it a requirement to make an account to use Twitter) that goes something along the lines of “Twitter is the place where opinions and statements can be manipulated” and the person saying that gave a pretty well done example, it was like “you could be asked if you like pancakes or waffles, and you say you like waffles, and the other person says “so you dislike pancakes?” That’s a new sentence, what are you talking about.” I can’t remember all of it since I have stayed a ton of feet away from Twitter, but it was something like that. You could say you just prefer something over another, and someone will just assume you dislike the other thing. In fact, you could actually like two things and just prefer one more over the other, but then someone will assume you hate one of them.
There also was this “bad music of the day” account I sometimes come across on Instagram and the music on there is judged by how it sounds, and I can remember the person running the account posted a song on there by a Korean music group and people in the comments jumped to conclusions that they didn’t like the artist’s ethnicity and were racist, but the account owner said that wasn’t what they were doing at all, and I am very doubtful that an account dedicated to posting songs that sound less than great would say a song is simply “bad” because of the artist’s race, also cuz the account also posted songs from non-Asian artists too, so how would the person ever be like that? Plus, jumping to conclusions and accusing someone of doing or being something bad or serious can be pretty damaging and harmful.
I am super anxious with how my info can be handled, so I of course try to keep it minor and avoid saying my real name or hinting at my real name. On Instagram, I simply kept my name as “A,” cuz I am a bit afraid of how some people might handle my info. I know that it’s not very likely someone will come out and use my real name against me or try to find personal info on me, also cuz I’m not a super well known person, but I think it’s very good that I am safe than sorry.
I do have biases with a lot of the media I like, but I wouldn’t ever harshly criticize someone who doesn’t like some of the games I like. If someone said that they hated Rare’s games, or a specific game from them like Banjo or Conker, I would just be fine and leave them alone, plus I can agree with a lot of criticisms some people have for those games.
@Sunsy I also didn’t watch the film only for Ugly Sonic, I think I was planning on watching it before they confirmed he was appearing in the film. Sometimes on Disney+ I randomly watch stuff for fun maybe once when I’m bored, and I just thought that the movie looked like some decent, silly ol’ fun. But, some of the cameos did make the film funny, and I did like some of the different animation styles and mediums they used for the characters there, though I remember a lot of criticism with the 2D animation simply being CGI made to look like 2D. I still thought it was great, I was expecting a possible sequel to it but that surprisingly hasn’t happened yet.
I still really want that trailer soon. I am now really REALLY looking forward to hearing Keanu Reeves in it after seeing The Matrix. It is a bit stuck in my mind right now lol.
I sometimes read the Community Rules a lot. I do know what not to do, but sometimes when I type something, I do worry a bit if I am accidentally breaking rules or not. I really don’t want to make the site unfun, or give anyone a bad time. Sometimes some things I have don’t need to be said. I remember posting this really unneeded comment on this vacation/goodbye thread, and I think now looking back on it, my comment really wasn’t needed and was super unconstructive. I really wish I didn’t comment, but I did, but I’ll at least be more careful with what I say and post. The moderation here can sometimes give you a good lesson on what to avoid commenting and how to act the next time. The mods are super kind, and they are just doing their job to make the site a fun place to chat and visit.
Hey, everyone, guess what? I got to meet Patricia Summersett (the voice of Princess Zelda) today at FanExpo in Chicago! She signed my First 4 Figures statue of Zelda from BOTW, my copies of BOTW, TOTK, and HWAOC, my TOTK OLED Switch, and a holographic poster of Zelda! Even got my photo with her! It cost a pretty penny, but it was worth it! She was very nice, and thanked me for being a lifelong fan of the Zelda series.
@AstroTheGamosian Ahhh that's so cool! Always love to hear a positive 'meet your heroes' story. It must have been a nice experience for her to meet a long time fan like you too!
@AstroTheGamosian Seeing a voice actress or voice actor in-person and having them sign your stuff seems so fun and like a dream. My brother has never seen any voice actors or actresses in-person, but if I remember, a few years ago one of the English voice actresses for Jill Valentine in Resident Evil was doing this autographing thing where if you paid money, I think you would receive this artwork of Jill in the mailbox with her signature and a small message on it, and she’d also write the recipient’s name in the message, and my brother did that and it was such a cool thing to see her thank him in the message. Getting autographs from people who are in media you like or you admire will be such a cool thing to me.
@Nintoz Yeah, it was. As I said, she was a very lovely person, and we got to talking about how powerful of a moment it was when Zelda transformed into the Light Dragon. I mentioned that I found it admirable that she would sacrifice her humanity (Hylianity?) for the sake of her people; even her last conscious thought was "Protect them all!" She actually wrote that on the slip cover of my copy of TOTK (and in the hieroglyphs that they used in one of the games, she wrote "Open your eyes" on my copy of BOTW). I even said to her that I came up with the idea of Zelda turning into a dragon and reusing a previous Zelda game's map long ago, but emphasized that Nintendo doing that for TOTK was simply us operating on the same creative wavelength, and how it only solidifies my desire to work for them, which she thought was impressive.
I even briefly told her my idea for one more Zelda game set in the BOTW/TOTK version of Hyrule where you play as Zelda herself, trying to regain her powers after the Yiga Clan stole them from her to revive Ganondorf. That, as well as the light novel series I am trying to write that adapts the original Zelda game, but borrows elements from other Zelda games (with one of the main characters in the story being closer to their counterpart from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity than any other version of that character in the series, especially the original). She got a kick out of that. She also thought that it was sweet that I preordered two copies of Echoes of Wisdom and the Hyrule Edition of the Switch Lite (one for me, one for my girlfriend). And as we finished up our chat, she whispered into my ear, "Courage need not be remembered, for it is never forgotten." I simply said, "I agree," and thanked her in both English and Japanese (which she was also impressed by).
The other person I got to meet was Zach Aguilar (Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer and Aether from Genshin Impact). He signed my box set of the Demon Slayer manga. And we got to talking about voice acting, and how I was interested in it, because it looked like a lot of fun (especially since he and his fellow Genshin Impact voice actors do all sorts of thing outside of recording, such as IRL meetups and livestreams, especially of the game Among Us). When I mentioned that my favorite Among Us livestream of theirs was when they voted Khoi Dao (Murata in Demon Slayer and Albedo in Genshin Impact) off the ship, he laughed, as he remembered that stream.
He was even impressed by my voice impersonation of Khoi Dao and Corina Boettger (Paimon in Genshin Impact) from that stream when Khoi was desperately trying to get everyone to vote Christian Banas (Thoma from Genshin Impact) off the ship instead of him. I told him that voice impersonations is a talent of mine, and even broke out my impression of Keith Silverstein as Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter; he loved that one, too. He was also quite gracious, and even said that we could hopefully work together someday.
It would have been nice to have met Johnny Yong Bosch (Ichigo in Bleach, Vash the Stampede in Trigun, and Adam Park/Black Ranger from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers), but sadly, his line was too long, and I didn't have a lot of time left at the convention. It was the same with Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto, but I more associate him with Derek Stiles in Trauma Center, Patroklos Alexander in Soulcalibur V, and Dainsleif in Genshin Impact). Mark Hamill was sadly too expensive (asking for $500 for an autograph, which was the amount that I brought with me in cash). William Shatner was surprisingly not as expensive (only about $120; I figured he would have charged just as much, if not more, than Mark Hamill), but again, I just didn't have time, and it looked like his line was super long.
But still, I got to meet some of the people that I really wanted to meet (i.e., Zach Aguilar and Patricia Summersett), so it was still fun.
I found a video about Evil Queen scream in multi language and somehow it was a weird pleasure ASMR to listen.
I like the Cantonese version have for having the best scream while some other version sounds flat or wrong screaming tone or lazy copy paste from English version.
@Pastellioli Yeah, it was really awesome. I was trying so hard to contain my excitement. They were absolutely lovely people to talk to. I'd love to talk to them again someday. Maybe even gift Patricia Summersett a burned CD copy of the Zelda Cinematica album by Sam Dillard. I maintain that he needs to be the one to compose the score for the upcoming Zelda movie, as that album sounds just like something you would hear from a Zelda film. I may have to mail a copy of it to Wes Ball (the director of the Zelda movie) so he can give it a listen and decide if that's the kind of style he wants to go for.
@Pastellioli Thanks for the bolded list of games. I played a bit of Jet Force Gemini on NSO actually. I think I finished the first two or three levels? It does seem to be a pretty cool game, though I'm not sure if I like the aiming. It would take some time to get used to I guess. I also rented the game back in the N64 days, though I was very young at the time. I'll try to remember to try out the other games. Actually, I tried out a different game on the NES NSO app, which was Journey to Silius, but I didn't like it that much. I went more in detail in the Games You Recently Dropped thread.
I also 100%'d Banjo-Kazooie! Though in my case, it was my N64 copy. That was before the NSO expansion pack came out. The DKC games on the SNES were what introduced me to Rare. Finished all three of those games, but I haven't 100%'d them. I've never played Nuts & Bolts, just the original two Banjo games. I didn't like the character redesigns and I heard the game wasn't very good, so I skipped it. I stuck with the Wii and DS at the time.
@Tyranexx Anytime. To be honest, I'm not sure if or when I'd get to the Ys series. There's only so much RPGs I'd actually want to play, lol... they tend to be very long. When I do finally finish XC2, I'll be sure to keep you guys posted in the Games You Recently Beat thread.
Yeah I like visiting places I've not been to before as well. It can suck getting to said places... at least if you're driving in unfamiliar locations or dealing with those dang flight delays, lol. Gotcha on the wooden roller coasters. Hopefully I'll find a coaster that's more stable and not ultra high and fast. I'm expecting them to still be fast, I will say that. So I'm better prepared for what would feel like F-Zero/Sonic speeds to me, lol. Thanks, I'll be sure to visit all the parks that Disney has to offer. Absolutely... I've had my fair share of both kinds of experiences and I've been bettering myself from them.
You know, Tyranexx. We're not so different, you and I. We're both not biased towards cats at all, lol! It's a fun power-up for sure. Heck, I won't mind it making a comeback in a future Mario game. Gotcha, yeah I don't personally recommend getting every Shine Sprite. Can't blame you for finishing the game the regular way. Maybe I'll give it another playthrough, but it'll just be a regular one, lol. Come to think of it, it's been a long time since I played Super Mario Odyssey. I might give that another playthrough as a result.
@Sunsy Oh that's awesome. I actually have relatives who live in Florida... would love to fly there and meet them. I wanna visit Disney first, then Universal's Nintendo park, since it looks like there's more to do at Disney and I've been getting back into their movies and cartoons. I even got the Mickey Mouse cartoons on blu-ray last year at Walmart. There were two volumes, I got them both (the second volume was a birthday present), and they were for Disney's 100th anniversary. Oh gotcha, I don't remember there was an alternate control scheme... I hated the on-foot missions, it's why I didn't like the game. I'll probably like the game more if I tried that dual-stick setup, but I've gotten so used to Splatoon's gyro controls, lol.
That's cool, I might try out that Movies Anywhere thing, I've never used it. I do know on Disney+, you could download movies to your mobile device for offline viewing if you have the app. I've tried it out once. Never had any of those Genesis ports to the GBA, the Sega games I had for the GBA were the Sonic Advance games, and Gunstar Super Heroes.
Yeah, it's kinda weird... I can't really see why those rereleases would only be exclusive to certain locations. Good to see you can always find Illumination and DreamWorks movies in your area.
Guess the devs of 8-bit Sonic 2 wanted to spice things up, lol. I remember that barrel of doom, I was stuck in that same exact level! That also reminds me, not a Sonic game, but the original F-Zero had a course like that. There's that huge jump in White Land II, and if you don't hold down on the control pad, you go off course and blow up. How was I supposed to know that without looking it up?
Getting bullied really sucks, I think that first happened to me in middle school. Wow that does makes no sense! Imagine being a kid, and ridiculing another kid for liking a children's show of all things, lol. I was bullied for liking Nintendo games, as well as Mega Man. I got ridiculed for not playing M-rated games too. Some people are just plain uncool.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@MarioVillager92 I really disliked the aiming on Jet Force Gemini on Rare Replay. It still felt poor to play even when I swapped to the more modern control scheme. Maybe it’s a game I’ll like, but it’s the controls that make me really uninterested in playing it. I do sometimes play random games on the NSO service for fun, I can remember on the SNES app there was this game (can’t remember the name) that I played where you play as these animals made of clay. Never finished it, but I remember it was an okay game.
I have played the first two N64 Banjo games, but even though I am a big fan of them, I have not finished Nuts & Bolts and don’t have the intention of doing so. Not cuz of the game not being a traditional platformer like its predecessors and it having a pretty infamous opening cutscene that takes a dump on the previous games and makes fun of its audience, but it’s how much I suck at building vehicles and construction. I really suck at making good vehicles, and I had left the game untouched for a while so I am very confused as to what to do next. I am contemplating whether to continue my current save or creating a new one and following a walkthrough for the entire thing, but I am not super interested in playing it. I do know how the game ends since I watched these three videos on the Banjo games by a YouTuber named AntDude back in I believe in 2021 or 2022, and the ending sounds and looks really terrible, but around that time Rare was pretty much moving on from their original IPs, and I think the Banjo games were never intended to be continued after Tooie. I recall reading that the developers were pretty much finished using the Banjo IP and wanted to work on other stuff, which is fine and I do like it when companies pump out original games alongside their established games. The game isn’t bad in my opinion, I love the writing still and the characters were still funny, but the focus on construction is not my favorite and why I don’t have any intentions to complete it. Maybe one day, but not now. You can walk around without using vehicles, but it feels bad and you can clearly see that the entire game is intended to be played using vehicles almost the entire time.
I am also not a big fan of the art style, it’s not the worst thing, plus I don’t really like to hate on art styles and I pretty much like every art style out there. I would not say it’s lazy cuz I can imagine there was lots of work that went into the redesigns and making the characters still retain charm, but I don’t know, I prefer the older Disney looking art style with the googly eyes and I miss it a lot. I’m pretty glad that they brought back the OG art style when they put Banjo and Kazooie in Smash. Their OG designs look pretty charming and cute in higher definition
Made pretty good progress on my drawing and I’d say im proud of it! All I have left is the head and face, but I’m still sketching those a little and trying to fix some flaws with it. It has some flaws, but I don’t really care about it. I need to let go of perfectionism and just draw for the fun of it. Can’t wait to share in a few hours!
“Woah-shi! It’s a double Yoshi explo-shi!” - Yoshi’s Woolly World ad, 2015
If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Flippy from Happy Tree Friends.
@Nintoz No problem. Hopefully you can relax for awhile now.
@Sunsy Same; theaters are a different atmosphere, plus I actually prefer few distractions when I'm watching movies. Hence another reason why I tend to go on Tuesdays. They don't seem to be very busy even with the discount. Plus it's rare I see movies the week they release. I'm glad you enjoyed watching Trolls Band Together! That's really cool that you went to a historic theater to watch Trolls World Tour. Classic theaters can be fun too; there was a single house theater near where I grew up that was restored and now shows modern movies. The pricing is still pretty reasonable too. The only drawbacks are they don't have movies too long - usually a week or two unless it's held over - since it's only one screen, and they also don't have many showtimes compared to a normal theater.
I haven't been to one since I went to see Inside Out 2 though. I thought about watching the new Deadpool movie with Wolverine, but it's one I can wait on for now.
@Pastellioli Ugh, don't get me started on Twitter/X lol. That site is a steaming pile of nope that would make even The Great Mighty Poo feel dwarfed in comparison. I think some of it is the character limit, but IMO that site is the worst example of how toxic modern social media can be. Your example of "I like X", "So you must dislike or like Y/Z/A too?" are what I call false conclusions. People are WAY more nuanced and that. The tribalism and echo chambers that some people are happy to stick themselves in (or try to stick others in) especially make me ill.
Music is highly subjective. Sounds like more jumping to conclusions with that "Bad music of the day's IG account. I'm sure the account holder didn't mean anything nasty by it, especially if there was no pattern before. Sure, something should be called out if it's there, but in many cases...there usually isn't. Another thing is the Internet doesn't like to forgive. Sure, some people make mistakes or might harbor opinions many dislike, but that person or group should be allowed to own up, have their side of the story told, be allowed to change, etc. Such reactions can and do ruin people's lives.
I'm in IT and completely support being very careful with one's personal info. Which does include general online anonymity. Not that I've never spilled a bit about myself in private channels or groups before, but that was after a long time (years) of communication and rapport. And that's just me. I'm very protective of people and their identities in my private life.
@MarioVillager92 Most Ys games tend to be on the shorter side if one isn't a completionist. At least up until the more modern entries, which can be longer depending on the side content. I completed both Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim and Ys: The Oath In Felghana on PC in under 20 hours, though you could probably tack +5 hours onto those if I hadn't been using a guide. And the former can be difficult even in Normal mode. I can at least guarantee any Ys title I've played til now is shorter than XC2.
I wonder how things would go for you if you were to find a medium speed family-type coaster that has a top speed in the 30-50 MPH range. If you ever do get to Disney, Space Mountain can be fun and isn't too intense IMO...though it is all indoors and mostly dark. You can't really see where you're going. Speed wise it isn't bad. I'm okay with dark rides and still think it's a fun experience, though I can understand why it wouldn't be for everyone.
XD We certainly seem to relate on cats! I'd love a cat or two, but sadly now isn't the best time for me to have a pet. My schedule isn't always consistent. I'd love to see the cat power up return in a future Mario game! From what I understand, collecting every Shine Sprite is very frustrating; props to those who have 100%ed Super Mario Sunshine lol. I'm due to revisit Super Mario Odyssey at some point as well.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
New profile pic. This time it's Daisy, and this is from a screenshot I took from one of my most recent online races in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Been playing as Daisy a lot in that game lately. Also been playing a lot of Tetris 99, and get this... I got 1st place for the very first time last night!!!
@Pastellioli Yeah, I can see why. The aiming feels a bit... awkward, lol. At least compared to today's standards. I've been used to the gyro aiming in Splatoon, as well. That clay game you mentioned, I think you were talking about Claymates? I don't think I've heard of it before it came to NSO.
Ah gotcha, yeah I don't think I would be too into Nuts & Bolts because of that vehicle gimmick. That's another thing that turned me off from that game. I vaguely remember the opening cutscene, but not too well. From the sounds of it, I don't think I'd like how it plays out, lol. That reminds me. Did you ever play Yooka-Laylee? I didn't play the first game, but I did play quite a bit of Impossible Lair. I'd like to come back to that game sometime.
I also like the older character designs for Banjo as well. Love how they brought that back for Smash Ultimate too. They did that for Pac-Man as well, they used his old-school design instead of the newer one.
@Tyranexx Oh that sounds good for me, thanks for telling me. I think I'm starting to prefer shorter games now, while just having one long game to focus on, like Tears of the Kingdom in my current case. I'm no completionist when it comes to RPGs, lol. Maybe after I finish TotK, I could continue Xenoblade 1 and see how much progress I make. Or I could look into the Xenoblade 2 boss I'm stuck at. Hope you're enjoying Future Redeemed and Pushmo World, by the way.
I'd probably handle those family-type coasters, those sound OK to me. Space Mountain might be all right considering the speed of it, but I'm not sure if I'd like the darkness, lol. Guess I could try it out when I go on while sitting next to a friend/family member who can handle coasters/dark rides just fine. I do like outer space themes though.
Ah, that's a shame about not being able to have a pet. I have a cat myself, and he is a very good boy. I have 100%'d Super Mario Sunshine myself (thanks for the props!), but I did have to look at Mario Wiki to find the Blue Coins. Those things can be incredibly difficult to find. I also got pretty nostalgic for Super Mario Odyssey recently... the last time I played it, it was when I finally got the last moon for 100%. That was back in 2019.

AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@MarioVillager92 Lovely new PFP! I’d swap mine out but I don’t have the energy to design a new one and heaven forbid I simply put in a character render! No, I must do my own editing… Maybe that is a strange restriction to put on myself but it keeps me from changing images every 54.9 seconds!
@MarioVillager92 Yep, you got it, it was Claymates. A decent platformer game, but I got stuck at this one part and gave up. I do have the Switch again, so maybe I could revisit it. Super unlikely I will though.
The vehicle gimmick is why I don’t really want to finish it. I had planned to play it back in late June or July, but I cannot play it for longer than a few minutes without getting upset with the vehicles, and I missed a few necessary pieces for the vehicles… I have to treat it more like a sandbox game rather than a platformer to enjoy it more, and I hear that you do get the hang of it later on, but I am confused to what to do next, plus the playthrough I was trying to use is super long and hard to follow cuz I missed pieces that were used to make efficient vehicles in the video, and I have to skim through to find the parts I struggle with. I really wish I used a playthrough when I started it like I did with the other Rare games I played, but I didn’t…
Even though I am a big fan of Rare and anything related to them, I still haven’t played Yooka-Laylee. It’s because I heard it got mixed reviews, and some of the people I have interacted with on Pure Xbox have said the same too.
There is this guy I am friends with on PX, and he is a HUGE Banjo fan, but despite loving Banjo and Rare’s platformers a lot and 100%ing Yooka-Laylee, even he thought it wasn’t a great game. Back in April, that game club I was mentioning was playing Banjo and someone else told me they were disappointed with Laylee because it didn’t fix issues they had with the Banjo games. My friend sent me a video that compared the first Banjo game and Yooka-Laylee, and the thing that made me lose interest in possibly playing it was that the game apparently repeats this game show segment THREE times, which is the one part of every Banjo game that fans collectively agree is the worst part of them, and I do agree. I think that the game show segment is wacky and funny as a concept, but it’s annoying and unnecessary, plus pretty stress-inducing if you haven’t been taking notes or remembering stuff that you see and hear throughout the game, but luckily you can use the internet and videos for it nowadays. I used the heck out of the save states function on NSO when I got to that part on the Switch, and it saved me from a lot of frustration. Nuts and Bolts also had one, but from what I saw it looked extremely underwhelming. However, they announced that they were making a sort of rework or remake of Yooka-Laylee, and it sounded like they were going to take the opportunity to fix issues the original had, so maybe I’ll wait till that releases and hear what everyone has to say about it. Haven’t played Impossible Lair either, but I heard it was really good.
I am really a huge fan of the original art style of the characters, Bottles looks super cute in the older art style especially. I’d say my favorite Rare games are the ones that use cartoony art styles since it exudes charm and I am a sucker for colorful visuals. It’s why I wasn’t a big fan of the art style the Conker remake used, cuz it made the characters look a bit soulless (though I think the stiffer facial animations play a role in that too) and it makes the game look gritty and less charming as a result. They still kept a lot of the characters looking cartoony, but they also added a bit of semi-realistic elements to their character designs that I wasn’t a big fan of. It de-emphasized the cartoon elements a lot and I kinda disliked it. Nuts and Bolts still used a cartoony art style, but I prefer the original one over the newer one they used.
Also, I love changing profile pictures…I have been wanting to change it here for a few days, but I have been super lazy lol, plus sometimes the cropping is weird and off. I had such a hard time cropping a picture I had on here back in May, since it got off center and I had to cut a lot off the image I used to make it look nice. I am stuck between using an official render, an in-game screenshot, or going on the web to find some amazing artwork someone made. It’s the endless amount of possibilities that make changing profile pictures so exciting. I’ll probably change mine today, I just need to find an image that’ll look cool and nice! Probably not a render this time, since they are becoming boring. I’d love to have a GIF or video as one, since I have an idea for one, but I have no idea how to do that on my phone. My Instagram and Xbox profile pictures have stayed the same for months, so I think I need to update those too.
@Tyranexx Yeah, I’ll never touch Twitter/X in a million years lol. It’s maybe the worst social media site I have ever seen, and it’s thanks to a bunch of YouTube videos I have watched on Twitter arguments and situations that made me want to never ever use it. Everyone on there seems to act so awful. I only used the web version to look at stuff related to my interests, but I stopped once they made it a requirement to make an account to actually use it.
I did read a bit of comments the account owner wrote and the account is more subjective than objective and is more for posting songs that they personally don’t like rather than songs that the public collectively dislikes, but they have posted songs that sound objectively bad and are agreed by many to be awful. There isn’t a pattern with the songs the person has been posting, but I think that accusation people had is absolutely from jumping to conclusions and not letting the person come and give an actual reason. Jumping to conclusions with opinions people have is way too common online.
