@Anti-Matter no, the villagers will usually ask you if they should move, exactly like in New Horizons, and you can deny them then… But eventually someone will move out if you skip playing some days. Once they’re already packing, there’s nothing you can do to make them stay.
It’s not nice when the animal that decides to leave is one of your favorites, but I also do not have the heart to tell any of them to move out when they ask… So it’s kind of refreshing to know I’ll have a new neighbor to look at once someone moves out.
@Eel
That was i really afraid of. 😱
I have to find a way to detect if my villagers will moving out so I will ask them to stay forever.
So the gameplay mechanism of City Folk was different than ACNL / ACNH in term of keeping the villagers ?
As I figured it out from ACNL, if you have asked the villagers who want to move out, once you asked them to stay and you save & quit from the game, all the villagers will never moving out by themself no matter how long you get hiatus but once you log in ACNH again after long hiatus, there will always 1 random villager will thinking about moving out in 10 days once the game get loaded and you have to find the villager who want to move out and ask them to stay (again). That's why I can leave my ACNH copies get hiatus for very long time and they will keep stay forever.
In City Folk, from my experience, after returning from a long hiatus there’s usually one animal already in boxes and ready to leave. Or at least thinking about it.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it, it’s an older game, play the newer ones to enjoy your favorite villagers forever and ever, and you can let the older games progress without stressing about it.
@Eel
Ah... I get it. 😓
I think ACNL and ACNH are my standard for keeping my villagers forever.
Well, I think i will not consider City Folk for unable to keep my villagers forever.
Thanks for let me know something important before picking up the games.
@tekoii Yeah, I genuinely have no idea how someone took the time to copy out the entire game's script. But... it helps me with lines and so on so it makes the whole process a bit easier for me. Not that I'm complaining, I've passed 40k words today. I'll keep at it, though I'll definitely get a bit busier soon, but... eh, I'll be happy if I can get a few hours a week in. And a trick I've tried when doing original dialogue is... imagine the character saying it. If it's out of character it won't work. And sometimes the original lines don't roll off the tongue, so I change a word or two.
As for music, I use GarageBand and Logic. I got the Logic demo last month, so I'm learning it, plan to buy it when the trial expires. I made all my projects in GarageBand though, and programmed all the notes, and instruments, and when I got the Logic demo I copied them in and redid the instruments. I've been doing it for two years but only now is it... public worthy. But I do listen to them over and over, to check for any mistakes or mixing errors. It's a fun hobby.
I'm hoping in the next few days we get an announcement. Usually they're around now...fingers crossed.
@Tyranexx That's cool you started Drill Dozer, glad you're having a good time with it! I'm hoping to get it soon myself. Cool to hear that they made it so that the GamePad rumbles too.
For that RPG thing I've been talking about, I finished pretty much all the Mario RPGs. (In particular, Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario 1 and TTYD, and the Mario & Luigi series.) I know Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a pretty short one, so I could focus on that. There's a couple Pokemon games I have as well, which are Omega Ruby and Sun. I still have Mega Man X Command Mission for the GameCube too.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Shouldn't be a problem, I think there's 300 or more points available, @Tyranexx ..... Wherever you found such a precise number should have enough info for you, anyway
Phew. We’ve been having internet problems for several days. And didn’t have anything all.weekend.long.
I must’ve spent like 10 hours reading on the kindle, between Saturday and Sunday. The battery went from full to under half in just those two days. Sheesh.
I mean, it’s good, reading is good, and on a normal weekend that time would’ve probably been spent watching videos on YouTube, so I assume this is all around a better use of my eyes... But still… It would be nice to have internet tomorrow, so I can work without wasting mobile data.
@Tyranexx First day of my junior year. Means the going’s getting tough from now on. Can’t wait to get work piled on more and more until you don’t hear back from me for a month. But… we’ll see. Worst case scenario I’ll have to wait until weekends. Outdoors I had to go today to… get home… and my ears began searing up immediately. Shame about the weather because it seems it likes to be awful everywhere. Mayonnaise is one of humanity’s mistakes, yes. Dunno what they were smoking when they invented it.
Well that’s a fair viewpoint. At least your mouth hasn’t escaped from you like it has the potential to (and I can absolutely relate, I have a loose mouth at times). I almost forgot that the security screens were programmed, but it doesn’t excuse me from the London episode, plus the three times I forgot to take my mobile out in the last year. I’ve felt like an idiot at times there. And I… I’d prefer window seats too, my elbow was pretty bruised after all the banging I was unintentionally doing, against peoples’ waists since I was sat down. Bone against bone is a horrid feeling.
It’s chugging along! I’ve clocked it up to nineteen at the moment, I’m so happy with how some of the scenes turned out, even if they aren’t overly imaginative. Your qualm with Xord was quite poignant actually. I’ll find a way to work it in… maybe when I get to the Central Factory. I think I could somehow get it done, thanks for the idea. And in the end… I did nerf the Ether Mine, namely the slow descent down the pit. Cut it to a single elevator, plus the freight lift. Happy about that, I would have been bored out of my mind writing it. Apart from that I’ve also repurposed some Heart-to-Hearts, since those flesh out the characters well. Such as the “What’s on Reyn’s Mind” one, which took place at Raguel Bridge but changed it to the walk through the Ether Mine. Hope you enjoy it when you get to it.
I’ve spoilt myself recently, yeah. Too many 4K 60fps games lately, that I’ve become hooked on it. Ghost of Tsushima already ran at 60fps on PS5 even on the PS4 game, but now it’s rock solid. What a beautiful game. I wish some games from Nintendo’s catalogue had photo modes, because screenshots get cluttered with pesky HUD elements. Sorry to disappoint but I’m stuck in the 60fps camp for life, though I’ll come back to… eugh… Breath of the Wild at 30fps when I’d like to play through. Since I’ve been at home so much it’s been more time on the TV playing games though. I will say this however; if you could press a button on your Switch controller to remotely turn it on I would play it more. Because I can do that with the PS5 controller and believe me when you’re lazy it’s a godsend.
I’m a bit curious what you thought I meant but ah well, I’ll live. One less thing to worry about now in a whirlwind of worries. It’s a hard life in a tent, especially if it rains… but all said and done I think it was an alright experience. Except if you have massive… horseflies I think… buzzing about and biting through dryfit t-shirts. That was a very irritating experience, especially because those suckers latch onto you after they bite, which is already a sharp pain. Ah well. But the ScarJo v Disney suit’s shown what’ll happen if you use the press in a suit. It’ll really change the perception of the whole thing in the eyes of the public.
My bad, I’ve been hit or miss with my jokes in the past. I feel like my bandwith is hanging on by a thread at the moment, begging for mercy, so I’m being careful about what to download next month. Most games I have on PS5 now are digital copies of games unlocked by a disc. So silly for people less lucky than me but I’m sure it’ll be fine in 2027 when the PS6 comes out. Five days for World of Warcraft is mighty rough indeed, hopefully it didn’t run you into bankruptcy.
Thanks for the remarks for my images, it’s always nice to hear someone enjoyed them. Yup, almost all correct; Horizon: Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, No Man’s Sky, Marvel’s Spider-Man, FF7:R and Gran Turismo: Sport. I’ve tried and gotten a few up there as a foundation for anyone who stumbles onto the page through the link here but I think it’s alright now. Now I can use those images for other things, like website covers and whatnot. Hopefully you can enjoy them in future.
Btw, i have finished quite a lot of PS3 games and Wii games recently.
Gimme some suggestion for the backlogs i have to finish. Which should i play today ?
1. 3DS games
2. Gamecube games
3. NDS games
4. Wii U games
@TheJGG
I don't know what should i talk here with other peoples because everytime i said something about my gaming experiences or other things, almost nobody care with my story.
Am i so.... Unpopular here with very different interest with no interest about Zelda, Forza, Metroid, Western superheroes, etc.?
@Anti-Matter I don't thick it's a case that you are unpopular here and a lot of your posts do get responses when they are constructive.
The issue seems to be when you derail topics or interrupt others' conversations without adding anything just to remind folk of your gaming preferences; your comment above about the wall of text for example was unnecessary and quite rude. You weren't even part of that particular exchange, so was especially jarring when you butt in and criticise the length of post.
If @TheJGG and @Tyranexx had been chatting IRL would you have interrupted and told either of them to stop talking so much?
@CactusMan
That's why i like Japan more than China despite half of my nationality is China. (i am Chinese Indonesian people)
Japan is country of video games, anime, interesting quirky things while China in my eyes = boring, counterfeit, unhealthy place to visit.
Oh, i remembered one thing.
Tomorrow, the British peoples will commemorate the 24th death anniversary of Lady Diana and Prince Charles on 31 August 2021.
