I dont use any social media anymore, I found I kept getting dragged Into arguments with people I didn't know about things I quite frankly didn't really care about. It all gets a bit toxic and I'm sure has a detrimental effect on people's mental health.
I'm quite happy nowadays watching YouTube videos (I don't think I could cope without my Beard meats Food or Ashens fix) and chatting with you guys here.

@Blooper987, nothing wrong with being a furry.

@Mr-Fuggles777 It most definitely does have a detrimental effect, and probably several. The most apparent one the rather insidious FOMO. It's basically digital drugs.

@ThanosReXXX I'm so glad I grew up in a more analog environment, non of the stresses to conform to social media tropes or trying to become Internet famous.
The other advantage back then was no phone cameras - no evidence of the awful 90's haircuts and dress sense.

@Mr-Fuggles777 My thoughts exactly. I do sometimes have to suppress the almost overpowering urge to knock smart phones out of young people's hands. It's like their entire world is in there, instead of being a bit more aware of the ACTUAL world around them. Alice through the looking glass, or something to that extent...

But all kidding aside, we once had a program here running an experiment with young people, challenging them to go without a smart phone for at least a week. You should have seen them: it actually did look like people with withdrawal symptoms at a certain point. Some of them even on the brink of crying and/or breaking down. Horrifying and (kind of) amazing (in a head-shaking way) to watch at the same time.

@SM3DASislit
I have Amiibo Festival Wii U, ACNL 3DS, ACNH for Toys to Life. 😀

The Western franchises that i like such as most Disney cartoons and certain Disney Pixar movies, Handy Manny from Disney Playhouse, Wild Kratts for animated series of real Kratts brothers with educational animal abilities super heroes, Codename Kids Next Door from Cartoon Network for very creative abbreviation words (every episodes are abbreviation of the whole English sentences, for example Episode L.I.Z.Z.I.E = Love Is Zesty Zany Insanity Eh?), Pocoyo, Kangoo (French cartoon of Anthro Kangaroo Basketball stars), etc.
Definitely NOT famous Western superheroes.
I prefer the Not so popular / niche franchises as they have more interesting contents than the famous franchises.

I also like some 90's Western cartoon such as Biker Mice from Mars (because i like six pack anthromorphic mouse in realistic size), Looney Tunes, Tiny Toon Adventures, Road Rovers for Muscular Anthro dogs, Jem (80's Western cartoon).

The reasons why i like them because they have Normal looking, not Flashy outfits like typical Western superheroes. I don't really like Medieval looking from Lord of the Ring / Harry Potter, Not interested by Pirate themes as they have horrendous looking and not really interesting color schemes.

@Snatcher
I was thinking about my students when you mentioned about Among Us.
Do you think there is some dangerous potential from that game for kids (Wolf in Sheep's skin) ?
Just now you said about cremation process inside the kids games (What the heck ???) 🤨
I suddenly thought there might be something fishy about that game.

@ThanosReXXX the current generation don't even know how to socialise outside of technology. My neice who is 17 hardly ever went out with friends (before lockdown) because they all had group chats going. As a result she spent a vast majority of her formative years sat alone looking at a screen. - My sister did try and limit screen time but its a loosing battle.
It does make me wonder what impact its going have on the formation of a cohesive family unit when literally everyone is anti social and fully reliant on technology to communicate with each other.
My wife and I put our phones away when we are home together, it is far to easy to get lost in them and neglect each other - I've learnt that games consoles are far more efficient at blocking her out than my phone anyway.

@Anti-Matter There are no "dangers" in Among Us. And besides: only the parents should decide what games are appropriate for their kids to play, NOT their teacher. If that happened over here, you can bet that some angry parents would come to pay the school a visit and have a rather physical chat with that teacher.
I know I certainly would...

@Mr-Fuggles777 Haha, good point. Yeah, when I get home from the office, the phone goes in the charger, and then basically lies on a table all evening, primarily used so that people can reach me, as in what phones are actually for. Other than that, I'll send the odd message to some of my friends who are living too far away to visit frequently. I actually use it way more when in the office, in large part due to the restrictions on the internet there.

@Anti-Matter its only cartoon violence but can get kinda graphic If you count neck snaping back stabing and shooting, (Plus the new laser) Its not to bad. And when I said showing its anatomy I meant they revald what it really is, bc most people say a crewmate has one bone , all in all its all cartoonish and not that bad.

@Snatcher @ThanosReXXX some of the chats can get quite wild on Among Us, the switch version does seem a little tamer than android because its so heavily censored.

@Snatcher Aaand you just spooked him...
In your opinion it isn't that bad, and I'd personally agree, but you've basically used a number of his imaginary list of forbidden words and/or game mechanics. Now the game will more or less be crucified by him...

@Mr-Fuggles777 Yeah, I know. It's just that Anti is particularly single-minded when it comes to gaming experiences, so that kinda goes against what more diversity-loving and open-minded people like me are thinking.

Speaking of Batman, I used to watch Batman beyond when I was really little. And ever since that one episode with the genetically modified animal people I thought it would be so cool if that was real. Basically, scientists need to find a way to make people have fox ears. Nuff said.

Ah yes, the Splicers episode. Not the first time something like that has appeared in the DCAU Batman canon by any means if you consider Anthony Romulus and Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat from the original series. And splicing is touched on again in Batman Beyond and a couple crossovers with other shows too IIRC.

@SM3DASislit It was no trouble at all; only a quick Wikipedia visit!

@ThanosReXXX Interesting. Rentals you say? Typically anywhere I've worked has always owned some type of coffee machine. Though now that you mention it, I wonder how often the water lines for these particular machines are cleaned. I do know the exteriors are cleaned every now and again.

Oh gosh, the snack machines; I've tried limiting myself to one visit a week with some success, but some weeks are...hard. I've intentionally started depriving myself of change at work; that definitely works better lol. Other than a few pennies, most of my monetary metal languishes away in my car for drive-up change. Though I've mostly just been using cards lately with the pandemic going on unless I go to the rare place that (still) has trouble processing them or only uses cash.

@PokemonGirl99 Nope, sorry. The only shiny Eevee I've obtained recently was in Pokemon Go, but I already evolved it.

If you want to try trading for certain Pokemon, why not try this thread? Though it was last posted in about nine months ago, so I don't know how much luck you'll have.

@Blooper987 Ahhhh. You got me. Secret’s out. You didn’t guess anything but I’m around your age too! Excellent relatability, no? As it happens my birthday was yesterday so... didn’t expect that at all!

Are you taking IB? I start next year but I’ve heard everything from, it’s tough but manageable to, it’s just awful. Which boat are you in?

@SM3DASislit I looked at the scene with Knuckles in the office, and he really does say something that resembles “meme.... approved!” no joke. I was fairly surprised to see that it wasn’t spliced or edited because it sounded like it was.

And on your comment on Sonic memes being eternal: that’s true about 95% of the time. The Ugandan Knuckles meme was a bit racist and honestly was not funny. Meme Approved however, is excellent, and would itself get approved by Knuckles.

And honestly, Sonic Boom is crazy! I haven’t watched it, but I’ve seen tons of jokes, fourth wall breaks, and references, and it’s absolutely nuts. I noticed there were a ton of jokes in the Persona 4 Animation, and then I went and watched the whole series.

Long story short the jokes are just a small part of what makes this particular anime a masterpiece. There’s so many feels in there particularly when Nanako dies anything with Naoto, Yosuke’s constant perverse escapades, and some of the scenes when characters face their Shadow Selves.

@Mr-Fuggles777 Tim Burton’s films always have an eerie, hauntingly fascinating atmosphere to them. Partly due to Johnny Depp’s masterful acting in Edward Scissorhands (god that sounds like someone out of a Hideo Kojima game), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and in some capacity Dark Shadows... he’s a man who loves the whimsical and my offbeat quirky personality loves his films.

@Tyranexx Sorry I can’t add anything to your coffee predicament but I can’t help but love the way people in Bwoston say cwoffee. Love it to death. I went to Bwoston to get a cuppa cwofee, but my dwog dwank the cwoffee. Now the dwog’s dead, and I still don’t have my cuppa cwoffee.

There was much more to that particular tongue twister but that’s the fundamental.

@ogo79 Gotta love the Icelandic president! He is quite a character... though that pineapple incident was pretty dubious.

I got that fact from The Book of the Year, released in 2017, and written by the four QI Elves. QI stands for Quite Interesting and I dare say that particular tidbit was quite interesting. First time someone knew it already though, so credit to you.

Ah I finally found a Guzzlord. And with that, I now have all the legendary pokemon to be found within the Ultra Space Ride (using only Pokemon Ultra Sun). Maybe I'll transfer the other version's exclusives and hunt for the secret legendaries after beating the main story. If I'm still interested by then.

So kind of that trial captain to wait for me out in the wilderness for an entire week to transport me to the town so I can finally do her trial. I visited that same town several times during that time, so I commend her dedication; I absolutely expected her to despawn at some point.
