@ThanosReXXX I read “Enchanted Village” just now and I never managed to guess the ending before it actually happened. The whole plot feels very strange, and of course scientifically impossible considering the inhospitable atmosphere of Mars... but the last paragraph left me confused for about half a second, then I realised what had happened. That story borderlines horror, supernaturalism and mystery. Really well written and frankly had me desperate to get to the end to find out just what happened. Thanks for the rec!

Edit: That short story... My god that was an ominous ending. What could it possibly be if this man was truly the last one on Earth? Extraterrestrial life? Another human? Love the ambiguity on that front. And also, would he be in a depressed panicked state if he was the last human on earth? That’s suspense right there.

Edit 2: The idea of people's thoughts being broadcasted to the world is something I'm actually pretty familiar with, in a literary sense. A few years ago I read the "Chaos Walking" trilogy, by Patrick Ness. I don't remember the finer details but essentially the human race has been infected with an alien virus that forces people's thoughts to be transmitted into a central channel of sorts. It's called Noise, and everyone's thoughts are broadcast at the same time, meaning there'll be about a hundred different voices blaring out at the same time, which today I'd imagine would cause people, myself included, a lot of stress. There are also no women, because they were all wiped out by this virus. But the main character, Todd, finds an area where the noise dissipates, and while escaping from his hometown, he finds an actual girl!

Long story short it isn't a virus, it's a natural power of the planet. Women didn't have Noise, and the men, resentful of this, killed all of them out of spite.

@ThanosReXXX Enough goodies tend to show up at work sometimes that I really don't need to add liquid calories into the mix lol. All the pods are free, so I usually just indulge in the light/medium coffee brands that don't have anything added. Once in awhile I'll dig into one of the brands with a couple of questionable ingredients added. The Cinnabon pods that show up on occasion smell amazing....

Technically, the added "stuff you should moderate" is added into the pods themselves; the machines only provide hot water. There's plenty of creamer, normal sugar, etc. to add. One guy even brings in and uses his own whipping cream. I very rarely add anything and drink my coffee black if possible....Though I have experimented with some of the creamer before (Not a fan), chocolate, a mint, and peanut butter.

Usually if I add anything, it's honey to my late morning cup of green tea.

@BruceCM
Okay. I’ve heard of all of them, except for Edward Sciddorhands. I’m assuming the 2 Batman movies are Batman Returns, and Batman & Robin. I didn’t realize that Charlie & the Chocolate Factory was Tim Burton. 🤔
Of those movies, I’ve only seen are Nightmare before Christmas, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and the first half of Alice in Wonderland.

@Sunsy
Nice. I just got the Wii U version, since that was the “full” version of SuperChargers. If you don’t mind me asking, which Skylanders games have you played? That’s good that you liked both versions.

@Blooper987
Dang, that’s a lot of Skylanders to have. Yeah, SuperChargers is pretty good. I haven’t played the other Skylanders games, but I’ve heard good things about them. I was thinking about getting Imaginators, but when it released, it was around the time that the Wii U was on “life support” and I heard that the Switch version doesn’t have support for the vehicles (or the traps) from SuperChargers (and Trap Team).

@Mr-Fuggles777
I didn’t realize that Skylanders played like the Spyro games. Yeah, Skylanders (and toys to life in general) can get pretty expensive, but you should be able to find them cheap (at least at GameStop, IIRC) since the series is on hiatus, currently.
I have Disney Infinity 2.0 and 3.0, in case you were wondering. What made you not a big fan of Disney Infinity 2.0? 🤔

@Anti-Matter
I can see how the Skylanders figures can be off-putting, as I used to think that they looked funky looking.
I know that you don't like Western franchises for the reasons you stated, but thanks for letting me know, anyways. If you don't mind me asking, would you please give an example of a franchise you like because of the way they look, whether it's the pattern shapes, or their color schemes?

@Sunsy, @Blooper987, @Mr-Fuggles777, and @Anti-Matter
Are there any other Toys to Life series that you guys have played, other than Skylanders and Disney Infinity?

@Tyranexx
Didn't mean for you to pull up a list of his films, I just meant if you think of any off the top of your head. Like I told BruceCM, I've only seen Nightmare before Christmas Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and the first half of Alice in Wonderland, from both of your lists, combined.

I rewatched the Meme Approved meme last night and I still find it funny. Yet anybody I ask says it's dead. It feels so... timeless and immortal!

@TheJGG
I've also seen that meme, but it was by complete accident when I was scrolling through Youtube randomly a while ago. Have you seen the compilations that have come from that? If not, you should watch them, as I found them to be funny and bizarre.
Let me tell you a secret: Sonic memes will never die, they just might dormant for a while. So, you're correct to say that it's timeless and immortal. 🤔
Also, does that actually happen in Sonic Boom, or is it just a meme? I'm asking because it's hard to tell what comes from the show and what doesn't, because of how much they break the 4th wall, are self-aware, and even reference other series in it.

Please give Ninjala a chance, guys. 🤔

Also, if I don't respond to your post within a day (or two), don't worry, I'm not ignoring you. I'm going to be busy, though I will do my best to respond in a timely fashion.

@SM3DASislit Lego Dimensions is a pretty good toys to life game! I have 30 or so figures I think. Best part is Sonic and Chell are playable and I got mini figures of them😂. Definitely the best Lego game ever made

Also Shrek, Mega Man, and Steve were supposedly going to be in it until it was canceled. Super sad😔

The only thing I know about Lego Dimensions, is that for some reason, Lego Jurassic World ends with a teaser for that game.

@SM3DASislit the two Batman films directed by Tim Burton were the original (with Jack Nicholson as Joker) and Returns. His earlier films are definitely better than some of his recent projects, Bettlejuice is on my favourite movie list.
Weirdly, considering his name is all over the marketing he didn't actually direct Nightmare before Christmas. Still a great movie, but I think Coraline was better.

As for Infinity, I cant really remember why I didn't enjoy it. I vaguely remember feeling annoyed that you had to keep buying things (characters and power discs) to unlock stuff in toybox and that the story mode was pretty underwhelming.
Lego also released a toys to life game but I had gotten bored of them by then so didn't bother buying in.

@BruceCM I didn't know he produced Forever, it felt so different to the first two. On the plus side, it was movie that gave us Bat-Nipples and was better than Batman & Robin.

It's a bit hard to see (it's not like in batman & robin where they give you long gratuitous shots of their weirdly over-defined bat-nipples), but yeah they're there!

Speaking of Batman, I used to watch Batman beyond when I was really little. And ever since that one episode with the genetically modified animal people I thought it would be so cool if that was real. Basically, scientists need to find a way to make people have fox ears. Nuff said.

And before anyone says anything, no I’m not a furry

@theJGG Yeah, it's a pretty well-written story, the Enchanted Village. And the ending is so blatantly hiding in plain sight, that most completely overlook it and have to re-read parts of it to finally allow it to sink in, and that is exactly what I like about it.

As for the shortest horror story ever written: I've once jokingly said to a friend of mine that the solution to the nerve-racking riddle is obviously "the last woman on Earth". It all depends on how you interpret the text: man as in male, or man as in "truly the last living homo sapiens" on Earth...

That "Chaos Walking" trilogy doesn't sound like a really cheerful thing to read, though. Kinda misogynous, considering the outcome.

@Tyranexx Well, obviously it's clear that these machines are only containers for powders and water, but over here, unless you as a company actually buy the machine, they're rentals 9 out of 10 times, meaning we have no access to them, so we're at the mercy of the machine's caretaker, who comes along once a week, to clean and service it. All we can do is fill the coffee bean container on top of it...

And yeah, some of these snack machines can be dangerous. Too many tasty things in there. I used to grab one or two items a day from those, back in the day, but nowadays I stick to my own food box, that I bring with me from home: sandwiches and fruit, for all the necessary grains and fibers. And the odd cocoa from the machine...

@SM3DASislit If I may add my two cents, concerning the Skylanders games: they're all pretty solid experiences, so you can hardly go wrong, but two of the ones I've actually really enjoyed myself are Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and Skylanders Giants.

I don't know if the pages look the same on your end, but over here, they're kinda screwed up. Either way, there's trailers of both games on those pages, so you'll at least get an idea about the games.

I've also got two portals, and figure sets for both games. My favorite character from the Giants game is Tree Rex, for obvious reasons. (or, if not so obvious: big, bulky, name ends in Rex, just like me)

I have the figure proudly displayed right in front of my second TV screen in the living room. He guards my Dreamcast and GameCube...

@Zuljaras there’s a difference between anthropomorphic animals and people with certain animal features( like fox ears and a tail) most of the time I find anthropomorphic animals really creepy looking. But sign me up for people with animal ears!

Also, I’m not really into Anti’s anthro animals. They are good drawings, but I don’t like the characters than much.

@Blooper987 So, you're basically a... furry lover, then?

By the way: there's real life solutions for those fox ears and tails, you know:

I've also seen other... kinds of solutions for animal tails for women, but those I can definitely not discuss here. It certainly made me frown, though.
