@StephanDLW Well, besides the fact that I was only half serious (better make a mental note of that for future reference. Just watch any suspicious smileys or quotation marks) there is a truth to what I said.
Most of us have quirks, yes. But Anti's quirks border more on the extreme and/or single-mindedness, and although part of it is personal preference, it can be a bit overbearing sometimes, so personally, I wouldn't want to stimulate that in any way. But that's just my opinion, so take that however you want, and you just be you. That's basically what we promote in this thread here.
On the subject of bullying: from what you've wrote, I can see you've had a tough time. I've been on both ends of that stick: I've bullied and have been bullied. The first wasn't a conscious thing, just part of wanting to be with the popular group, and the latter gave me insight into the consequences, but only later on.
The thing is, that most kids in general are quite brutal and harsh in their interchanges, and that's not because kids are jerks, but they simply don't have the adult brain to measure and understand the long term consequences of what they do. And kids like to test things out, like stress tests to see how far they can go. Much like how most toddlers go through their "no" phase, answering every question with no, which is also a test phase.
Either way, most if not all of us have either been singled out or harassed at one point in time when we were young, and depending on our reaction to that, it might unfortunately turn into bullying, or there's bullying from the outset, due to differences or outer appearance and/or behavior that sticks out.
Not implying that this is a good thing, but it is something that happens. How we handle it or respond to it, is key. But good that you came out of it in the end, like most of us did too. Important thing to remember and something that you can use for the rest of your life: it's not how many times you fall down, but how many times you get back up that matters. All the rest is an aside. Life giving you lemons? Make lemonade! I know it's not as easy as that makes it sound, but it IS the only way to go about it. Sitting in a corner feeling sad and miserable about it and sorry for yourself, isn't going to solve anything.
Oh, and I'm a BIG fan of thinking in solutions instead of problems: think not about all the things that you can't do. Focus instead on what you CAN do, because that is what will ultimately move things forward.
@Heavyarms55 Fair points, and I can definitely understand that, what with you living over there, you'd be more sensitive to the people and how things may come off as derogatory and such. That said though, the website I pointed out is just using it as a tongue in cheek label, and the posts on it really are funny, so give it go every now and then, to have a laugh at all the funny JapEnglish translations...
@Tyranexx Woman, I'm sorely disappointed in you...
I was joking, ma' am. By now, you should know a bit better where I am concerned.
As for the Dragon Quest picture: there's no such thing as coincidence. And of course, my Mad Titan mind powers certainly help things along quite a bit as well...
On a side note: have you set a date yet for a visit to Metropolis?
Looking forward to the pictures of the statue...
I got teased plenty for big ears growing up. Around fourth grade, I ended up beating up the kid next door, because he was relentless. It's funny, but we've been best friends since 7th grade. True story. But in high school, I got plastic surgery on my ears. Nobody noticed, unless I told them, but the dumb names stopped. (Note: I've never been the type to pick fights, or get in fights otherwise)
Usually ears stick out because they are missing a fold. And it's fairly simple for a surgeon to make an incision, and use some internal stitching to create a natural looking fold.

I wasn’t really bullied too bad, but I was a witness to a lot. It really turned my stomach at the time. I think though even for bullies, those high school years are tough. They are emotionally heightened times.
@Hobbitgamer managed to grab a copy of Wii U Hyrule warriors preowned for 10 bucks at gamestop today. I know you played it quite a bit. Is there still treasure chests and keys to find or is it just hack n slash for the most part?
@NintendoByNature Nice grab! There are definitely hidden bits;
-Gold Skulltulla on every map after 1k KOs
-Character specific hearts and pieces
-Upgrade trees require different components for different characters
-Weapons with sealed perks (unsealed by requirements)
There’s a lot to play, and enough variety between story, free, and adventure modes to not feel too grindy.
@StephanDLW it definitely has HD rumble. Back, lumber, and thighs.

@StephanDLW Mmm, I'd say the Bic Mac and the McChicken are my favorites.

@HobbitGamer very good. I'll try to polish off re5 before i crack it open. Still trekking thru witcher as well. I like the game alot, but it I'm kinda hoping for a big breakthrough. I guess what I mean is, you chase Ciri the entire time, and every time you get close, something happens and then you do another similar-style quest (grab this, talk to so and so). Almost like a carrot dangling in front of you. Still fun, but looking to wrap it up in the next week or so.
@Heavyarms55 I have a similar issue when it comes to viral Facebook content sometimes; despite my better judgement I sometimes look. Not all are bad, but sometimes even the most innocent of things invites negativity for some odd reason.
@ThanosReXXX Figured as much, but ya gotta confirm with just plain text!
As for the visit to Metropolis: still planning on a day trip to there this spring but don't have many of the finer details worked out yet.
@NintendoByNature Nice grab! I played Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U and loved it. The story is kinda crazy, but the game and modes are very enjoyable. I'd list my personal favs but don't wanna spoil much.

@Tyranexx niiiiice! I feel like i should've paid the extra bucks and got the switch version for the extra goodies, but whatevs.. figured in between some more serious games like TW3, re5 or assassins creed, this will be some good mindless fun. And as you know, I'm a very big zelda fan, I just opted not to get it sooner for some reason.
@HobbitGamer - Nice work on securing that power throne at work. Sounds incredible, I would totally fall asleep in it. My car has a butt fan, never knew how much I’d love a butt fan until I had one. Did you trace down the short in the pickup?
@NintendoByNature - You can play HW endlessly. There’s soooo much to find and unlock. As a Zelda fan, you’re really going to enjoy trying out all the characters. I think it was my second or third most played game on WiiU, and I felt like I barely scratched the surface. It was the last game I bought at a Game Stop on day one. Not sure why I remember that, but it’s been a while since I purchased a game in person.
@Eel - Haha, I think it’s human nature to just touch something right after someone tells us it’s hot. I know I can’t resist. I need to know, HOW hot is it?!?
@NintendoByNature Totally up to you! Personally I felt that the original was full of enough content as it is; I didn't 100% everything but probably spent something like fifty hours with it. I really enjoyed it, though I'm also not pressed to get the Switch version lol.
@Eel I'd chuckle, and yet....Sometimes a distracted mind can forget that something hot just came out of an oven or microwave and grab at some exposed part before our skin unfortunately reminds us that we should know better....

@NintendoByNature It really is a fun game! As for the story, it's not Zelda tier material, but they still do a pretty good job of tying everything together. It's a nice hack-n-slash that isn't the deepest, but that's not a negative by any means.
@Eel Truth be told, I would have too. Might've been a bit morbid about it too, but some crowds aren't as into that kind of humor as I am....

Went into this local burger joint that has some fancy flavors (such as one with bacon... and pineapples)
Got one with bacon, cheddar, a thick hamburg and pepper.
It was a bit too greasy and salty tbh.
The last time I went there, I ordered one with a soy burger instead, which I liked better.
But there was a different cook today so it could be that too...

@Tyranexx The nature of these things invites negativity over positivity. I have no proof if it is deliberate or just a natural evolution without intent but people are more prone to say something negative than positive - which invites criticism and counter arguments which spirals into debates. These things lead to people returning to a said comment section over and over generating clicks and ad revenue and discouraging websites from potentially changing the system.
How often do you see comments like "Yes, that's very nice, I completely agree!" as opposed to the plethora of ways people disagree with one another? In my experiences - limited though they may be - there is no comparison - disagreement and arguments in general vastly outweigh agreement and compliments.
I think social media only amplifies it because of the relative safety of saying argumentative things and openly rude things from behind a computer screen, rather than in person. Even more so when you're further hidden behind a fictitious username.
