Yay I was waiting for the 8bitdo zero 2 to go below 400 pesos on Amazon, and that happened today, so I got it in turquoise to match my lineup of switch lite accessories.
@Tyranexx that's really all I'm looking for. A new zelda experience whether it's deep or not. @Vinny love the exotic burger joints. Then again, I love a good old fashioned cheeseburger with all the regular fixins. A classic I get is bacon and an over easy egg on the burger. It's a sloppy one for sure, But it's well worth it.
@Eel I've been also waiting for a sale..nothing in the u.s. yet. Not that 20 bucks is a bad deal, but i wont use it all too often to justify 20 on it just yet. That yellow looks good..
@Eel yea for sure. I mean it's not expensive as it is. But it's more like a novelty to have, almost like that other 8bit do you have with 2 dpads. So I'm not looking to spend all that much. Might use it on the road or for one of the kids. Im sure they'll get a kick out of it.
@bimmy-lee Yeah, I was only able to test the chair for 20 minutes before I left the office, but it was a glorious 20 minutes.
I’m gonna try to pick up a multimeter from Harbor Freight tomorrow with some alligator clips, then start tracing this weekend. I’ve got a few good common spots to check, but I’m gonna test the ignition switch itself first. Rock Auto has a BWD replacement for $25, so it seems like the repair will be cheap either way.

@StephanDLW Well, that just goes to show how true that is, and good on you. As mentioned before, when you rejoined the site, it's always a good thing if you're able to turn personal experiences into something that allows you to teach/educate others.
@Tyranexx Ah, Spring. I'll make a note on my calendar...
@Eel Your hot plate story reminded me of this funny video (well, for viewers anyway, not for the person himself) of a guy who's ironing a shirt, and subsequently fails to set down the iron on its ironing board correctly, so it starts to topple. And, in completely human and understandable fashion, his automatic reaction is to try and catch it, before it reaches the floor, which of course burns his hands, which in turn makes for the funny video about a guy trying to catch a heated iron and jumping up in pain...
@Woomy_NNYes Confucius joke, aye? I wonder which one of us is laughing the hardest...
Now, if you'd be able to come up with some real pearls of wisdom, such as Buddhist parables or something, then I might be able to really start appreciating the effort.
If you don't know any, let me know and I'll give you a couple of examples.
@Heavyarms55 The anonymity is definitely a BIG factor where online toxicity is concerned. Me, @Woomy_NNYes and some others kind of already came to that conclusion in another discussion, a couple of pages ago. It allows people to do and say things without filter and without consequences to themselves. Well, at least: nothing worse than potentially getting either a warning or a ban on a site, which is basically nothing more than a minor consequence, because although they won't be able to participate anymore, it's not like they can't keep visiting the site they're banned from.
And the other part you mentioned is also quite easily explained: negativity, as you actually already mentioned, creates content, and not just in online fora or web site comments sections. Just think of the daily news, and its good to bad news ratio. The latter is always bigger. If all the news had to report, is how good everything went today, then we'd run out of news to tell pretty quickly. And besides that, people like seeing things evolve, so it needs to start at a low, to be able to go to a high. Things already going good offers up little chance of improvement, so that's just not interesting.
Doesn't make it any nicer, but it is the most likely explanation.
Mind you, it's not really that we like to see bad things or bad news, but it's the psychology behind it. What makes many people tick, so to speak. And yes, on web sites it for example also translates to what trolls do, enticing others to respond, generating content as well, in the form of discussion.
I think the only big exception for many people is sports. No one wants to go through the misery of seeing their team perform horribly bad, before they become good or (hopefully) become champions, but in general, mankind is always living in strife and in a state of wanting/needing. And perhaps strangely enough, the reason we don't always agree all the time is also the reason for why we progress. Just imagine if everyone everywhere was always in agreement and content, not looking any further than the tips of their noses.
Contrary to popular belief, we would not only be infinitely bored and unhappy, but we as a species would also not be going anywhere. Science for example NEEDS disagreement, because that incites experimentation and investigation, in order for people to be able to prove points. So, we're basically skeptics by nature. It's obviously not THAT black and white, but by and large, there's a truth to that.
@ThanosReXXX I do pretty much agree with all your points. Although not quite with the disagreement breeding progress. Disagreement often hinders progress, but struggles and difficulty and discomfort push things forward, while arguing and disagreeing often slow that progress down, sometimes even reversing it.
Though at the same time it is important to question things and not just charge blindly forward. Even disagreement has benefits. Within limits of course.
I take a break from playing 3DS for a moment while dealing with new hype on PS3 and PSP games this year, but i still pay attention for Japanese or European 3DS games that get price cut on Ebay.
Finally got around to watching Rise of Skywalker this evening. The film wasn't bad by any means; overall I enjoyed it, but there were definitely some questionable decisions there.
I kind of regret going tonight but didn't think it would be airing here for much longer (Tuesdays are cheaper for the full day); I have some paperwork (yay adulting.... ) to finish. I'm nearly done with it but still need to gather some info. Gonna have to give it a rest for tonight as it's getting late. I might wind down with my Switch and finish up Donut County.
@Heavyarms55 Agreed on most counts; I believe the general anonymity of the internet is a double-edged sword. People unfortunately DO feel like they can get away with more behind a screen as there are generally few if any true repercussions in many cases. You'd think some sites that require one to use their real name (and no, I'm not naive enough to think all accounts on places like Facebook are set up as such, but you'd be surprised with how many do use their actual names....) would help blunt that a bit, but it doesn't seem to do much.
Sadly enough, arguing, flaming, etc. is only what I'd call the tamer end of the spectrum. The web was, is, and likely always will be used by ill-meaning individuals for illicit, despicable activities. Which stinks, as some truly positive things can come from the online sphere.
@NintendoByNature It still is a Musou game at its core, but there's more to the Zelda content than just a reskinning of characters IMO. I even like what they did to humanize a boss from an earlier game, but I won't spoil that here.
@ThanosReXXX I will try to put up a couple of pictures here.
