When we're talking sci-fi, you simply HAVE to remember that you're talking to a guy who laps up practically ALL of it, good, mediocre or downright bad. I've seen it at least once, and sometimes multiple times.

@NEStalgia Well, underground or not, over here, it was broadcasted three times, on one of the largest commercial channels we've got. First time obviously as a premiere, and the subsequent two times either in Saturday/Sunday afternoon weekend re-runs or late Saturday night re-runs, so there's actually quite a few people in this little country, that will know about it. A lot of people over here like sci-fi, so you eat up whatever you're able to get on TV, especially when we're talking about the pre-Netflix days.
@ThanosReXXX Huh, that's interesting. Here it was banished to the lowest dregs of paid cable, and never heard from again....Seems like it was a bigger deal there than here where most people had never even heard of it, even while it was on.
Netflix....I still think of them as little red DVD envelopes...
@bimmy-lee species may have been my first exposure to lady parts lol. It was such a long time ago. @ThanosReXXX it's definitely a classic. I might even rewatch it in the near future.
@NEStalgia To elaborate on the situation over here, which might give you more of an insight:
This channel also broadcasted most of the Star Trek shows, and usually on similar time slots, so once those were either done or temporarily gone, due to seasonal breaks, the voids were usually also filled by similar shows or programs, and so I got to know Farscape. I've always had this frame of mind of try before you say you don't like it, and I possess a natural curiosity to the new, so I'm usually quite open-minded in that regard.
So, although I was kinda sad that another season of a Star Trek show had ended, and that I had to wait at least 4 or 5 months for another to start, I was always curious as to what would temporarily take its place, and always willing to give it a try. And the first episode already got me hooked, so yeah, definitely a great show, and I was sad when it ended.
Some other sci-fi series that I got to know because they started as "Star Trek replacement/filler series", were Babylon 5, Firefly, Andromeda, Lexx, Space - Above & Beyond, Mutant X, Cleopatra 2525, Dark Angel, FFWD, Total Recall and probably quite a few others, that I can't remember right now.
One annoying thing about it, though: if you either know or look up some of these shows, you'll see that except for a small handful of them, most were short-lived and cancelled after two or three seasons. And even though the Dutch network knew this, they still bought the series from American, Canadian or British channels, probably because canceled shows are cheap and nice, short fillers for when their main series is temporarily off the air...
The main downside of that was that I got to REALLY like some of these shows, only to see them end in a cliff hanger, or not even have any kind of ending at all, and never being any the wiser about it. Well, at least: not until the internet finally offered me an option to find out about these shows and the reasons they were canceled, sometimes also offering a decent enough explanation of the final episodes and/or even offering scripts to tie open ends from the creators themselves.

Fallout 1st is a newly announced premium membership for Fallout 76 with the pricing being $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year. This game somehow manages to become even more of a joke.
@Grumblevolcano W.T. actual F.??? How does one even respond to that. Hysterical laughter doesn't even fit. I may just sob uncontrollably for hours despite not even caring. It's just that bad.
How is Bethesda even still in business? How do they have any customers at all? It's hard to blame the company when thy apparently found a whole ton of suckers to sell garbage to at outrageous sums of money. I have always loved Elder Scrolls, but I feel like Fallout76 and it's continued.....carpification of it....has made me consider Bethesda a rung or two below EA in my book. At least with EA the lootboxes eventually give you something good to play. With Bethesda you just keep shoveling $20's in the furnace just to watch the smoke blow.

@ThanosReXXX Haha, yeah I have a similar arc of "need Trek filler" shows. And I second the misery of a sci-fi fan when more than half the shows you try to watch get cancelled 13-28 episodes in. It's not easy being ...er....just pretend sci-fi TV fan rhymes with "green"?
B5 is no filler though....it's the king of all sci-fi shows. No exceptions.
There's a fun plaque that hangs (or hung) above a doorway in the JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory): "Never use a Star Trek solution on a Babylon 5 problem."
Also fun fact, since you're familiar with B5. NASA actually bought the blueprints for the Starfury fighters. Not a joke. They've done nothing with them. I can't imagine what they would do with them, and since they're not a military division they didn't buy them as combat vehicles. But they were considering building adapting them for mining/construction/something/someday/maybe.
Then again, these are the same people that "lost" the blueprints for the Saturn V, the most powerful rocket engine ever built.......
@NEStalgia Haha, yeah, or actually: belay that laugh, I should have actually cried, because it's rather sad and infinitely stupid, but yay humans working for governmental agencies, I guess...
As for Babylon 5: I didn't mean to imply that it was a filler series per se, but over here, it DID start as such, filling the exact time slot that Star Trek normally occupied, so filler in that sense, not as in "disposable series that only runs for one or two seasons anyway".
Oh, and sorry to ruin the joke, but the "rhymes with green" thing is completely flying over my head, by the way.

@ThanosReXXX Only in government can you be the guy that loses the blueprint to the most powerful engine/weapon ever designed, and the only known tool to accomplish specific tasks, and still have a job. Probably a promotion. And pension. And only in government can it take another 40+ years and counting to design something comparable to the thing you already had 50 years ago. Imagine being the guy at Amazon that loses the password hash for the backups? And telling them it'll take you at LEAST 45 more years (and a half dozen well connected contractors) to build another one?
The joke was just Kermit's "it's not easy being green" except "it's not easy being a sci-fi fan" but without any word I can think of that rhymes with it. Speaking of Farscape and Muppets and such.

All kidding aside, though: back in the early 00's over here, the Dutch military supposedly "lost" a not yet developed roll of film about crimes against humanity in Eastern Europe, or somewhere thereabouts. That film would have been crucial evidence in the international trials, but because some idiot lost it/made it disappear, hundreds of pages of additional paperwork were needed to still make certain cases/accusations stick. And I can name a couple more examples, both local and international.
All or most of them just WAY too convenient, or stupid to actually just be an accident. Or maybe I just like conspiracy theories...
