It's bad. I had to take it off after trying a few videos. The display on the 3ds are probably the limiting factors but the quality on the video is just unwatchable when I have my phone to hand.

I love Nintendo, Sony & Microsoft - why? I am a true gamer.
Anyone else think this is a pointless app? The 3DS is one of the weakest mobile devices available, with an equally sub-par screen resolution. 3DS is a great gaming platform, but it's not for other media.

All I want them to add is a "switch account" button... otherwise I'm stuck with my "default" account that has nothing...
I had the same problem until I tried logging in with the google plus email address that they give you after merging your youtube account with google plus. Now I can view all my subscriptions, history, etc. It's silly that you have to do that to get it to work properly, but it works.
@Hale-Bopp: My issue is that I've gotten an error every time I've tried to do that... I cannot log in to my Google Account... ugh...
Also, I was expecting the video quality to be more akin to Nintendo Video, which looks very nice on the 3DS screen. Not... whatever quality this is...
Ah, well that sucks. Makes me wonder why it's working for me and not for you. I was expecting higher quality video as well. I really have a hard time believing that they can't do better than this. Hopefully they'll patch it in the near future to allow for higher resolution.
@Hale-Bopp: Yeah, keeps telling me that my "session ID is invalid" and that my "username or password is incorrect"... but I used exactly the same username and password to login in as my default account... but it doesn't work after that? I think it's mainly whatever the "session ID" is that's mainly screwing it up... I haven't turned my 3DS off all day, though, so maybe restarting the system will help... it's really annoying me, though.
I'm not going to choose it over the 360 app (which I check every night for new videos), but if I want to kill some time & watch a few videos, it works just fine.
It takes a few seconds for it to act, but it hasn't misread my imputs, and the picture quality is just fine as far as I'm concerned (just watched a couple of Maru videos to test it out. That's one hilarious cat, lol).

Are you logging in with your username or your email address? Because I logged in with my google plus email address and that was what worked for me. Also, turning your system off and on again might actually resolve it. Couldn't hurt to give it a try and see what happens. That session ID thing sounds weird though, I wonder if that's a bug of some kind. I mean, we already know the app is unstable, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was a bug.
It's not too bad, but it definitely isn't anything worthwhile. We've waited three years for this, and frankly I think Nintendo could do a little better. Oh well, hopefully they'll improve it as time goes by.
I wouldn't mind the bad quality...except that Nintendo Video exists. Nintendo Video shows that the 3DS can show decent quality video. And I know Nintendo Video isn't streaming from the internet, but still. I don't think the video quality should be that low.
At least it's watchable.

you cant get in? i got in as soon as i opened the app :l i spent the whole night testing the app by watching LOTS of videos. it holds up pretty well, actually. the netflix app can freeze and make you restart your system, but this never happens on Youtube, it closes itself every time its about to freeze. that happened a couple times in my testing session, but it was too few and far between.
